I wanted to use a cut-out style effect, which led to this. CnC and dat, thanks guys.

V2, which is now cityish; as it's more fitting. Kudos to Smear for advice on that front. Imma work on another one today.

I love the concept, it reminds me of a flag. The way you blended the render works really well. It's definitely an improvement. I'd say your best yet. The text is nice, although I'd usually stay away from it at your level. Heck, even I stay away from text. Another thing is, the cutoff to the random space background from the army-looking part on the right is really strange. Also, because of the cutoff, there isn't any proper light source (I can see the lighting, but it just not coming from anywhere. If you know what I'm trying to say). There isn't really any flow or depth. And I can't really tell whats happening on the right because of the cutoff. Pretty much, if the left part had something to do with the right side then this piece would have been much better, IMO.

To summarise, great concept, work on more basics, make the tag as a whole compliment the rest of the tag, leave text for later(but you don't have to, it's just what was suggested to me).

You're getting a lot better, don't stop! :3

Once again, you've hit the nail on the head. I had a totally different render and cutout, but it wasn't working properly. Then I found that render, that fitted nicely in terms of proportion, but I was at a loss as to what could fill the other side.

I went for space as that's kind of my default thing, I have a lot of space stuff lying around.

I can definitely change it to something more fitting, and I'll make a general light source as opposed to one in the cut-off alone. I totally get what you mean.

As for text, I suppose I just wanted a point of interest in the other side. I'll work on it.

Cheers, Smear.
