D.A._Sakuyamon
http://youtu.be/IDM3_06bkGM

In the year 2022, the United States is prospering with an unemployment rate at 1% and crime at an all-time low. To keep this prosperity the government creates an annual 12-hour period from the evening of March 21 to the morning of March 22 in which all criminal activity, including murder, becomes legal. During this time, police and hospitals suspend all assistance services and execute citizen who refuse to participate by hanging. This event, known as The Purge, is designed to serve as a catharsis for the American people, giving them a chance to vent all negative emotions however they desire, with the ultimate goal of keeping unemployment and crime at extremely low levels for the rest of the year. During this night of violence and crime, a stranger screaming for help is let into James Sandin's fortified house during their yearly lock down. The family is then forced into conflict between their beliefs of right and wrong, and a sequence of events involving the stranger's pursuers puts the family's chances of survival in danger.

While the idea of the movie is interesting, I find that the film is going to be garbage.
vla1ne
Sounds about right, when I saw the first short trailer, I thought the overall premise was epic, but then when I watched the full trailer, it turned into a terrible attempt at teaching family values. if it had just been movie about citywide chaos with different perspectives and no plot armors (like a battle royale cross between baccano and a zombie movie, except without zombies) then it would have had potential, but now, it might surprise me, but it more than likely won't be any good. Tentacruel
I normally hate horror, but this film actually seems interesting. I'll try to go see it, hopefully. Might just get it on DVD though.

Mr.Robot
I normally hate horror, but this film actually seems interesting. Well, it's not. It's actually a thriller that's marketed as a horror/slasher-issh movie. Like the idea of it though.

·Toot
Lol I agree with you D.A... It looks really interesting. That's a really cool idea imo. But just like After Earth got me pumped for it like this, I think it'll turn out to be terrible. Say if something like this existed... What would you do? Lol. Not-so-Radiant Arin
I remember someone saying when you go to a movie theatre in the old days that the movie had a 50/50 chance of being good versus suckass. Now you go to a movie theatre and the movie has a 100% chance of suckass. This movie is a good example of that statement. Plus, $7.95 for a bag of popcorn? Are you fucking kidding me? Elijah~
What fucking movie theater do you go to?!!! That's highway robbery. Where I live for a box of candy large soda and popcorn all together would only cost $8.37 total.
