Game of Thrones - Night of Salvation [OoC / Accepting]

285 AL, the sovereign of the Iron Throne was assassinated.

The Seven Kingdoms were, hence, thrown into uproar.

No-one knew why, or who, but with no Targayren King able to rule with peace and a steady hand, blame would began to be tossed from person to person, kinsmen to kinsmen, kingdom to kingdom. No-one knew who slung the first flame, but in truth, who cared?

All we needed was a reason to fight again, a purpose to cause bloodshed between those we once respected. We needed a cause to fight for, and now we have one. It just goes to show you how simple we really are. This world, it is one of cruelty, one of malice and rage, and she craved, longed violence. No rule lasts forever, because the world would not allow it. No peace can exist without war.

But, to get along in this world, you have to conform. Resistance is pointless. At least, you can help try to achieve peace again, through bloodshed. So, who will you wield your weapon for?
-All Relevant YCM Rules apply
-No Player Killing unless both parties agree.
-Don't god-mod (i.e force someone to do something)
-Take a fair amount of hits from weapons, rather than dodging everything.
-Each kingdom can only take one area every 5 pages (To stop from complete annihilation.)
-Listen to the creators of the RP (Kyng and Tormented)
-Remember you are not super human, so once you take a few hits you aren't going to go Super Ultra Power Mode
-Don't use a false sense of "MAGIC CAN DO EVERYTHIGNIGNG" It's not Final Fantasy

This role-play will be employing a new type of gaming format, the TCS, or the Territorial Conquest System. Below will entail the rules you should keep track of:
1: There is a Map, with relevant Territories upon said Map. These territories are initially distributed to factions to the host's discretion.
2: Each territory has at least 1 Major Settlement, whereby capturing it will give control of the territory to victorious faction.
3: Player characters who enter a particular territory will count towards the territory's faction count list. These faction count lists are: Offensive & Defensive. The offensive faction refers to the attacking faction(s) players and can be further divided into the individual factions themselves. The defensive faction refers to the defending faction(s) players which include the governing faction as well as allied factions defending territory.
4: A territory is defended when the number of offensives that are raiding is reduced to 0 for 24 hours in-game time, while a territory is conquered when the number of defensives defending a territory have reduced to 0 for 24 hours in-game time.

targaryen-banner.jpg?w=172&h=299House Targaryen

“Blood and Fire”

Hailing from the ancient, and now doomed, freehold of Valyria, the Targaryens have ruled Westeros for nearly three centuries.

Ever since Aegon I Targaryen forced the kings of Westeros to kneel or be destroyed by his dragons, his descendants have ruled as kings from the Iron Throne in King’s Landing by the power of their dragons and their swords.

The Targaryens have preserved their High Valyrian blood by marrying brother to sister for over five hundred years, even at detriment to mental stability of their line. Now their dragons are all dead and only sharp blades and minds will preserve the legacy of Aegon the Conqueror.

stark-banner2.jpg?w=172&h=300House Stark

“Winter is Coming”

For an unbroken eight thousand years the Starks have ruled the North

from Winterfell, the castle originally built by their House’s legendary founder,

Brandon the Builder, first as Kings in the North, and then as Wardens of the North

after King Torrhen Stark bent the knee to Aegon the Conqueror.

The North breeds cold men, and the Starks are among the coldest;

they are loathe to involve themselves in the affairs of the South

and instead keep one watchful eye on the seasons.

tully-banner1.jpg?w=172&h=300House Tully (Owes Fealty to Starks)

“Family, Duty, Honor”

A noble House of long tradition, though never kings, the Tullys gained prominence when Edmyn Tully became the first of the Riverlords to rise against the rule of Harren the Black and declare for the Targaryens.

After Harren and all his sons were burned by Aegon Targaryen’s dragon, Edmyn was elevated to Lord Paramount of the Trident.

Through disaster and dark times the Tullys have remained loyal to their benefactors but as time goes on their loyalty may grow weaker and they have already once risen up against a tyrant.

arryn-falcon.jpg?w=172&h=300House Arryn (Owes Fealty to Baratheons)
“As High As Honor”

The first, oldest and purest of the Andal lines, the Arryns were among the first of their kind to arrive in Westeros, and became Kings of Mountain and Vale when Ser Artys Arryn slew the Griffin King and took his crown, six thousand years ago.

When the Targaryens came the Arryns chose to submit and lose their crown, rather than be destroyed by the dragons.

They were allowed to remain Defenders of the Vale and obtained the title of Warden of the East.

The Arryns hold their honor dear, and if forced to choose between that and loyalty, there is no doubt they will follow the path laid down in their House’s words.

lannister-banner.jpg?w=172&h=300House Lannister

“Hear Me Roar!”

Founded by the legendary trickster Lann the Clever, who tricked the Casterlys out of Casterly Rock and took their crown, the Lannisters ruled the West for thousands of years until the coming of Aegon I Targaryen.

At the Field of Fire, King Loren Lannister witnessed the power of all three of Aegon’s dragons unleashed at once, and fled back to the Rock, later kneeling to Aegon and taking his place as Warden of the West.

The Lannisters are the richest House in Westeros, and have only increased their wealth as time has gone on despite (or perhaps because of) their reputation for always paying their debts.

greyjoy-kraken-banner.jpg?w=172&h=300House Greyjoy

“We Do Not Sow”

When Harren the Black burned in dragonfire along with his sons at Harrenhal,

the men of the Iron Isles lost their last grip over the Riverlands along with their king and his House.

In exchange for their loyalty, Aegon I Targaryen allowed the Ironborn to choose the man to lead them, and they selected Vickon Greyjoy of Pyke.

But the Ironborn have never had good relations with the lords of the green lands,

and some may even keep the Old Way of raiding and pillaging and the Greyjoys

may even hope to once again rule huge swaths of Westeros as overlords.

tyrell-banner.jpg?w=172&h=300House Tyrell

“Growing Strong”

When the last House Gardner King was burned with all his heirs on the Field of Fire, Harlan Tyrell, Lord Steward of Highgarden,

surrendered the castle to Aegon Targaryen rather than be obliterated.

For his good sense, his line was elevated to rulers of Highgarden and Wardens of the South. Some of their bannermen still resent the Tyrells’ position and inheritance of Highgarden but they rule with the Targaryens’ approval, and are perhaps the most loyal of all the Houses in Westeros.

Beautiful and dangerous, the Tyrells choice of sigil is a golden rose and anyone thinking to pick it had better remember that some roses have thorns made of steel.

baratheon-stag.jpg?w=172&h=300House Baratheon

“Ours is the Fury!”

A scion of House Targaryen, House founder Orys Baratheon is said to

have been the bastard brother of Aegon I Targaryen.

He slew the last Storm King, Argilac the Arrogant, and then took

Argilac’s daughter to wife and Argilac’s House sigil and words for his own.

Since then the Baratheons have ruled the Stormlands on behalf of the

Iron Throne but as times passes old links grow weak. What was may come again

and the Baratheons have never lacked courage or power.

martell-sunspear.jpg?w=172&h=300House Martell

“Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken”

Alone among the Great Houses of Westeros the Martells of Dorne never bent the knee to Aegon the Conqueror. They were once conquered by Daeron I Targaryen, but after his death, they rebelled and became independent once more.

They have been Targaryen bannermen for little more than a century, after a marriage agreement between the two Houses secured the Targaryens dominion over Dorne.

The Martells retain their title as Princes and Princesses of Dorne, one they have held since the warrior Queen Nymeria led the Rhoynar across the Narrow Sea and, with the help of her husband Mors Martell, conquered Dorne from the Andals.

In keeping with their Rhoynar blood, the Martells (as do all Dornishmen) allow the eldest child, regardless of gender, to inherit their titles, in stark contrast to the other lords of Westeros.

Night%27sWatchicon.jpgNight's Watch

"Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all nights to come."

The night's watch are the defenders of the wall, they must pledge an oath to further cement their strong will.

White Walkers

Little is known about the White Walkers however they are the main threat to the entirety of Westeros.

Free Folk (Wildlings)

The Free Folk are a race of people who live beyond the Wall. They are more commonly referred to as "wildlings" everywhere south of the Wall.

User Name: Umbra
Character Name: Vahorro Maegyr
Age: 24
Sex: ♂
Family: Malaquo Maegyr (uncle), Triarch of Volantis
Birth Status: Genuine Noble (of sorts; the Triarchs of Volantis are elected by the people, but do stand above the rest.)

Appearance: Dark-skinned and slender, Vahorro makes for an odd sight on the streets of King's Landing. He wears the traditional red garments of the red priesthood, paired with a matching set of dyed chain mail when he goes into combat. He is neither tall nor short, but of average height, and his hair is a mess of dark brown and black. His green eyes seem to have seen beyond their years, deep with sorrow and grief, and in the right light they glitter of gold and emeralds.
Biography: Vahorro grew up in the court of Triarch Malaquo, his uncle. His father, the Triarch's younger brother, was killed in an Ironborn raid against the city. Vahorro saw his father's death first-hand, incapable of defending himself as the reaver swung a blood-red Valyrian steel blade and cleaved his father in half. Vahorro would have been killed as well that day, had the Lord of Light not intervened and spared his life. The Ironborn had set their mansion aflame, and in the exact moment that the swordsman turned upon him, the ceiling collapsed and brought down a piece of burning wood on his head, burning his face and causing him to flee. As soon as he was a man grown, Vahorro left his uncle's court and joined the Temple of R'hllor in Volantis, where he was trained in the old rites and rituals. One year ago, he was assigned a mission; travel to the lords and ladies of Westeros and spread the holy faith, to ward the people against the Long Night. He has spent most of his time in King's Landing, where he has gathered a small following of fellow believers.

Personality: "The night is dark, and full of terrors." Vahorro carries with him the zealotry of a true believer. His faith in the Lord of Light is unyielding, and while his year with the heathens of Westeros has made him more tolerant against the Faith of the Seven, he will still challenge anyone who questions the might of the Lord. Otherwise, he is not quick to anger, but is rather pious and serene. He stays away from alcohol and the pleasures of the flesh, mostly, but is not repulsed by such things. He is kind when the situation demands it, but is quick to be strict when disorder arises.

Titles:
Faction: Temple of R'hllor of Volantis
Rank: Red Priest
Preferred Weapon: A sword, lit aflame.

EDIT: Thankya for the acceptance. In case you want to use it in the story, the Valyrian Steel blade referenced in the backstory is Red Rain wielded by House Drumm of Old Wyk.

EDIT: What is magic in this world like?

That should give you a fairly good understanding of what magic is like. There are a few spoilers on the page, but nothing too major. (The rest of the wiki is dark and full of spoilers, though, so be very careful.)
