Equestria Girls

To be fair, though, Pika, nobody said it was a genuine human world.
So of course things will end up being goofy and what-not.

Yeah I know it's not the "genuine" human world, that's what I was complaining about in the first place. If you're not gonna do it right, why even do it at all?

Oh wait, even that is more realistic than Equestria Girls.

Man, I wish I was from the future and could see the movie in its entirety ahead of time and know everything about it.

Aside from their skin color, and the abnormalities that came from Equestria, we've seen nothing to indicate their human world is any different than ours. Your hate is quite unfounded.

Don't worry, it isn't canon.
Personally, I loved it.
But yea, it went A LOT better then everyone expected.

Well, the quality of the animation - as expected - is great, and I'm personally not bothered at all by the odd skin colors...what makes me depict it as a "mediocre" movie is:

1) the whole concept - but I can supersede on it;

2) the storytelling. Come on, with MLP we're always seen excellent storytelling, so excellent that the episodes are always fun and interesting to watch even when the story itself sounds childish or already-seen. With EG I felt the whole story was trivial, inconsistent and predictable..and what's more forced. The number of unexplained stuff is too much to accept in 1:30 h of movie, and the finale is quite embarassing. What saves the whole movie are the characters, who are rendered pretty well (except for Sunset Shimmer, who would've needed more background - but clearly there was not enough time to fit it in).

BUT, considering it was a Hasbro idea, the animators made a great job to make the movie at least decent and pretty enjoyable to watch.

Overall, personally speaking, I actually liked the great majority of the movie. The one bit that was embarrassing in a bad way to watch was when Sunset Shimmer turned into a demon-like thing. That was ugly and random.

It would have been nice to have it be more pony-like if they were going to transform her.

One thing that i actually enjoyed was the music... normally i blank out through most of the songs in the MLP show. But I actually enjoyed the music in Equestria Girls. Especially the cafeteria song. Me and my friends actually did it... just the beat though. And i liked Pinkie Pie. I don't know why but she was suprisingly likeable in the movie. You see... i really don't like Pinkie Pie.

I watched this a few days ago with Black thanks to Arm showing me the link to it on Youtube, and all things considered, it was a load of fun.

I mean, it was about an hour and ten minute movie, with everything they tried to do, it shoulda been more around an hour forty to two hours, but with how long they had, they did a pretty good job, and the music was as wonderful as always.

Although Black was really not amused with the dubstepesque opening, but I personally enjoyed it. xD

I'm not a fan of the dubstep opening either, the only thing it had going for it was that it was catchy, and it was long enough to support the opening credits. All in all, i guess it was tolerable. I have a personal grudge against dubstep, because it isn't real music in my opinion, but hey, I won't hate on you for likeing it.
