Premier Alexander Romanov
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ta9i3YQAzM Well, this show had a good run.
Shradow
Well, this show had a good run. It hasn't started yet, how can it have any kind of run? As I said in your status, the trailer actually makes it look a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I was going to give it a shot anyways, but now I'm a bit excited. Shradow
I meant MLP:FiM. This isn't that, though. This is just a spin-off, season 4 of FiM comes later.
Grunt Issun
Even if they DO manage to do this right, which is basically impossible, this is STILL jumping the shark. There's NO reason for this to exist in the first place.
Shradow
There's NO reason for this to exist in the first place. Dosh is usually always a reason.
Phantom Roxas
Even if they DO manage to do this right, which is basically impossible, this is STILL jumping the shark. There's NO reason for this to exist in the first place. But all of the fanart about humanoid versions of the ponies, or even ponified versions of characters from completely unrelated franchises, those are okay? Oh no, how dare the people who make the actual show do what countless fans have done on their own. CURSE THEM FOR PANDERING!I'm okay with this. If anything, the biggest problem I have is their skin colors, not because I'm racist or anything, but because it reminds me of Doug. If they wanted to turn the ponies into humans, don't half-ass it.Seriously, what is wrong with them being humans instead of ponies?
Shradow
Seriously, what is wrong with them being humans instead of ponies? I'm instantly reminded of this video that came up regarding Mewtwo's Awakened Forme, and I feel it applies here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOJ8wpFjLB8
Astro Dude
Fyre-flye should be noted of this.
Grunt Issun
I didn't say that was okay either, Phantom. I'm not a huge fan of ponies being humans or humans being ponies. It just seems like a dumb concept that doesn't need to exist.

Sleepy
http://family-room.ew.com/2013/06/07/my-little-pony-equestria-girls-trailer/ Just posting a second trailer.
Lonk
It's not really the humanization that bothers me (though the quality of how they humanized it is atrocious), but I don't honestly like the concept of a high-school drama film for an mlp spinoff. High-School Drama-Based films usually end up as a flop anyways.
Sleepy
I also had a bit of hope that it wasn't gonna be the high school dance queen or something like that. My high school didn't give a crap about popularity. If you like a hobby, you do it, and even people that are not into it are fine wiith accepting it for the most part, except for a few immature assholes, but that's unavoidable, and it's not like groups of friends are like secret societies with leaders, norms to follow and stuff like that like these kinds of films seem to illustrate. If X person likes Y person, they hang out, and rather than closed groups with social divisions and rivalry, what forms is a giant net that ties everyone. That's at least how it was for me. It bothers me a bit that these movies always follow this formula.

Shradow
Still as excited as ever, and knowing the reason she has to go into the human world is nice as well.
Catterjune
I'm okay with this. If anything, the biggest problem I have is their skin colors, not because I'm racist or anything, but because it reminds me of Doug. If they wanted to turn the ponies into humans, don't half-ass it.Seriously, what is wrong with them being humans instead of ponies?Pretty much this. They're not quite ponies (since they have human limbs) and they're not quite humans (since they have pony skin colors) so they look like they're just kind of stuck halfway through. The fanart of the girls as humans looks way better. Also their names are fucking ridiculous for human girls. I mean, they can't really change them or no one would know who they are but at least contract them to make them sound human-ish.
Phantom Roxas
For example, Applejack can be named Jacqueline. However, I don't think it's so easy with everyone else.
Catterjune
Nicknames could probably work. "Twi" for Twilight Sparkle. "Rain" for Rainbow Dash. I wouldn't take anyone seriously if they came up to me and said "My name is Twilight Sparkle" so how are they gonna create a believable human world? I wouldn't take anyone seriously if they came up to me and said "My name is Twilight Sparkle" so how are they gonna create a believable human world? To be fair, though, Pika, nobody said it was a genuine human world. So of course things will end up being goofy and what-not. Shradow
Yeah, of course things are going to seem off if you put it to our human standards.
Phantom Roxas
Are you saying that this movie is not supposed to be set against human standards? Well, I suppose it shouldn't, given their half-assed attempts to make the characters into humans.
Shradow
Given that's it's a parallel universe of one with talking, magical ponies, I'd say not set entirely. And I think you're being a bit too critical of it. With the only oddity being their coloring (since the trailer doesn't confirm the humans as sharing the names with their pony counterparts), I can't agree that it's half-assed. Toffee.
Look, the movie isn't even going to be canon anyway, as Season 4 isn't going to use Equestria Girls' setting.
Phantom Roxas
Or the movie could just end with Twilight Sparkle going back to ponyland while Season 4 makes the occasional reference to it.
