Lonk
It's really sad how people view a change-up of activity of members as the forum dying. They don't understand the proper cycle of those leaving because they don't want to be that active anymore with new people rising up and becoming prominent YCM members. I have seen people claiming this situation for a long time, but it never happens. You people are just as bad as the people who say that Nintendo will die because of a new console being released is going to send away fans of the company. Exiro
Was there any lulzworthy incident that triggered their leaves, or is it just a coincidence that they all left near the same time? YCM is dying? Well, if you call 68 members, 575 guests, and 2 anonymous users online in the past 15 minutes around the 8 PM hour "dying"... EDIT: Refreshing the front page less than a minute after posting, now, we have 74 members online. /b/ Has a lot more users right now than it did years ago. That doesn't mean it isn't dead. I don't see much of a point in this thread other than to share your grief that members left which can easily be replaced. Circlejerks are fun! I have no clue how to go about bringing in new members. Are you that desperate for new memebers? A good community has no problem keeping the old members in place, and, because it's so interesting, the new people will come by themselves. Your post only verifies how dead this place is. Xyz Monsters are evidently coming. Hey guys, look at this naive babby still having faith in his ex why zeee! Let me break it to you, kid: even if you do get the Xyz feature, it's not going to fix anything. The only extra traffic will come from people who wouldn't be visiting this place because of their beloved feeeature. You've got to ask yourself, are those the kind of people who will make a difference? This site's best attempt at recovery, was banlist discussions, because it got people like me interested in posting, but it's still degeneracy-filled to the brim. It was ultimately too late. Βyakuya
Why is it important to make this forum lively after some "idols" have left? And how do we make this place "more active and lively"? This community has already been average with its people, despite the majority of people moving off of the actual roots of this site: cardmaking. And waht benefits are there trying to get new members and having fun activities? Are we tryign to show off to an invisible crowd we are lively again and possibly to allow back ones who already know their bounds?

Because we can only do the organized things if there is a margin of activity, like RP:s. On the other hand, anything is better than people complaining about it every opportunity they get. Agreed, pretty much our problem is that if reviving YCM is such a big deal, then instead of complaining, then people have to actually think of doing something revolutionary or something. Aix
Agreed, pretty much our problem is that if reviving YCM is such a big deal, then instead of complaining, then people have to actually think of doing something revolutionary or something. Note how I said discuss how to and not "guys let's all rant". I would certainly love if this place was a lot more lively. It'd be a lot more fun. More activity means that there likely will always be something *fun* to do. There are often times when I'm on YCM and nothing is happening. It is so BORING. If there were more people, this wouldn't happen, or wouldn't happen nearly as often. Seeing new faces around is also *fun* because you have more people to interact with. It also helps stroke people's ego to an extent when there are more people because the big members are big members of a big community, rather than being the big member of some small club, and because of this, people are also pushed into action as they would be for YCM Awards. It's the difference (though our case is less dramatic) between *oh damn, I won my elementary class spelling bee* to *holy sh*t, I won a state-wide or nation-wide competition*. We only get probably an average of one active new member every 2 to 3 months. Also, more people means less member-hosted stuff such card contests and RPs dying upon or even before conception. This stuff is a big part of the action here on YCM. People want to join in on stuff and people want to be proud of themselves hosting such stuff, rather than a mod hosting something. New people are turned away because no one cares about them, but if there were a lot of people, there is bound to be one or two people who might take a look at their stuff. Rapidfire
Obviously we need to greet everyone with hugs, and pies. But I sometimes feel like people around here can be "cold". You know, why can't we all just be nice. I realize this can be hard but maybe that's what drives some people away. Just a suggestion.
Lunar Origins
If YCM is going to die, then YCM is going to die. No harm in trying to change the course of nature. However, this is just a cycle, I think.
Tourmaline
Saying to just let it die without taking action as if people can't take things into their own hands is only one of countless absolutely stupid things you've said, which is why I'm going to disregard it just for now. Things certainly can be done to make the time here more entertaining. Even if the people here are obviously an in group or several groups, their trying to enjoy the time together helps a lot more to sustenance than not caring for it. It'll die when everybody starts wallowing in despair or apathy and gives up, rather than if people keep trying to make this place fun. The dying part won't happen, since there are enough decent people around here and people who care enough to put some effort into it. Going against bringing the place back is absolutely unproductive and should be disregarded, given the entire point of the post is to give up or to arrogantly insult others, for the most part. I might try something, though. It'll probably be more of stimulating others to take action, though.
Legend Zero
Just a heads up!Please do not go to other sites and post something along the lines of, "Hey guys!1! Check out this kewl forum and join http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/ you won't regret it!!11!!!!1" It makes this board look like that one desperate ex you wish every night you never met. Exiro
So what do you propose? Nothing at all. What is your addition to this topic except to be an ass to people? My addition is that I call people out for their bullshit, making it easier for people to distinguish the posts that are filled with bullshit from the posts that only contain meager amounts of bullshit. People who aren't as gifted in bullshit spotting as I am, are oftentimes fooled into accepting complete nonsense in their lives, and I am here to prevent that. "Fooled" may be a big word here, for I do not mean to imply the presence of a malicious intent - alas, the bull oftentimes doesn't know any better than to spurt out its shit, - but bullshit with any other intention is bullshit all the same. JadenxAtemYAOI
I came back because I was bored. Pretty sure that applies to a lot of older members. The site needs something other than a card maker to make it special. I would say getting a good list of programmers willing to make a dueling simulator could work but we all know it wouldn't. The website could become an affiliate and have cards made by members integrate with a duel simulator like YVD could but we all know the problem there.
