This makes me wonder what esle they are going to put the core set O.o and also the amount of WTH on the forums and fb page on the slivers is funny.

That's just Sliver Queen. I doubt they'd reprint her.

Still, this is silly. What a weird core set theme. Great fun, and will make EDH players happy.

Ah though she is suppose to be on the reserve list, last time I checked so I wonder where the new art is going to come into play here .-.

That's the old art. It's already been confirmed on Twitter by officials that Sliver Queen's not coming back.

Also, I believe these aren't Dominarian Slivers. These ones are from Shandalar. Which explains why they look nothing like any Slivers we've seen.

That would explain why they look REALLY strange next to the old slivers.

OMG YES. SLIVERS, MY BBZ <3 I just hope these aren't the only ones. Striking looks amazing though.

Seeing as how you need a bunch of Slivers to make them worth while, I think its safe to say we'll be seeing around 9 more. IMO anything from 15 to 20 can happen.

oh god not them again well i guess as long as i have Supreme Verdit and termius ill be fine but when those rotate out i will be very afriad and avoid FNM for months on end that is all

Seeing as how we already have a deck that attacks for 7 on turn 3 I don't think Slivers are something to fear when it comes to speed.

Isn't that deck cycling out soon though?

Or does it run more RtR block cards than I remember?

It's pretty much all M13 RtR cards. There aren't really that many Innistrad aggro cards that are worth looking at in this meta, compared to those in RtR. They do lose Mayor of Avabruck and Champion of the Parish, but I'm sure there'll be replacements. They also lose Flinthoof from M13.

With that said, Champion of the Parish is a big part of the deck. I doubt it'll see play. Then again, Slivers have never been viable (outside of maybe Countersliver), and I doubt Slivers will ever be viable.

Hm...then I guess everyone here's just had a really bad experience with them. Friend's going to play Rainbow Slivers and everyone else is threatening to tie him up, burn his Magic Cards then burn him in a car. (I've never experienced slivers btw)

Not really, but they will still be in the format with the fast aggro decks for a few months.

The thing with Slivers is you need a few turn just to get anything really powerful going and in Standard you don't have that ability because of removal and much faster decks being played.

Why does something with flying need trample? Same with indestructible and hexproof.

But yea, that take like 5 or 6 turns to get going, not to mention a few colors so it isn't the easiest thing in the world to set up.

neither of those thing are redundant most decks have flyers to trample thru and and Supreme verdit doesnt effect indestructible creature but it will kill something with hexproof..

with Burning-Tree Emissary you would be lucky to only have 7 damage coming at you....

Yes they are. Both are evasive abilities and when you already have something flying over your opponents team you really don't need trample. And yea, indestructible in general is better for since removal spells are what your trying to protect yourself from most of the time with Hexproof anyway.

No, Emissary normally causes 7 damage on turn 2.

Normally causing 7 damage on turn 2 meaning 3 specific cards in hand including a turn 1 white source. Right.

Yea. They would need a W/R or W/G shock turn 1 for Champion and then a R or G source for Emissary + Mauler. The start isn't THAT common but I think most Naya decks will be able to get it off at least once every couple rounds.
