il just say this guys wii u and ps4 for me screw the xbox why i say this?

becuase wii u and PS4 will remain usefull to offline players like me

Because we know EVERYTHING about the PS4.

I don't really like the One, but the reaction to it has proved how psychotic Sony fanboys are.

Also, backwards compatibility increases the cost of the console by about $50-100, possibly more in the case of PS3 BC.

And this is totally the only complaint that has been brought up in the thread.

Just... everything about this completely baffles me.

I'm not much of a gamer, but it really looks like they were trying to make it look bad. There is no way they didn't hear the internet talk about what they didn't like to have there.

This video explains it that is why microsoft will have a big LOSS

so take my advice and go PS4 or wii u whatever your choice and keep the f..k away from XBOX one cause it sucks.

Guys, I just found out who was behind this conference.

xzibit-happy.jpg

who else would make the preposterous idea of watching TV on your game console hooked up to a TV.

Why is this guy related? all i see is a a..hole and yes i mean this guy in the photo

OT: Well, might as well chime in my 2 cents. I've been a Sony fanboy since I was born and I've never shown any interest in the XBox consoles. This conference pretty much turns me off from ever owning an XBox. The fact that you have to be online once a day and the fact that being offline limits the games is a huge turn-off for me. So yeah, my money's on PS4. Maybe the One will get good, worthwhile exclusives that isn't a goddamn FPS over time, but as of now, chances of me buying the One is close to nil.

I'm sorry, but I somehow didn't notice that comment you have Legend Zero, otherwise I would have stopped right away, and I did ask him to PM me if he wanted to discuss it more, yet he kept on going on the in thread. It's my fault mostly though, so I'm sorry for that. Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

Jeez this guy gets angry, but he does have a lot of really good points. Also, have you seen Jim's video on it? I'll post it here:

I highly doubt the haters are Sony fanboys. I also highly doubt the average cost for having backwards compatibility is $50-100.

Considering you have to actually include the hardware from those older consoles, it is quite expensive.

It's not just a matter of letting the system play old games, you have to actually equip the new machine with the parts and software to play old games as they are.  There's a reason the PS3 dropped PS2 compatibility.  It's to reduce production cost.

While I understand it adding a cost, I think 50-100 is too much of an increase. The Wii and Wii U and all of Nintendo's handheld games have had backwards compatibility. It might be because of the difference between the system isn't as great as between PS2/PS3 and 360/XO.

Actually not the DSi, for some reason.

Correct.  The Wii U is based heavily on the Wii's architecture, and the handheld systems are far simpler and easier to run natively with a chip.

The P2/3/4 and the 360/XO have VASTLY different architecture.

I think after like 5 models for the DS they just said screw it.

I guess thats fair. I wonder how many people would have been willing to pay the extra amount to allow for the backwards compatibility. I think that will come down to what the price tag for the system is normally.

Anyway, Xbox One is so bad it has driven up Wii U sales.

Really my biggest issue is no backwards compatibility, because I just wasted a sh*t ton of money then, if all my X-box 360 games just became obsolete. Also being online once every day or whatever also bothers me, because I generally don't go online, and I don't feel I should be penalized for that.

You would still have a 360 to play those games on though, so they aren't obsolete. The issue of backwards compatibility is one of convenience.

Which just goes to show that actually giving a damn about your fans will backfire horribly.
