Wizarus
Lol they tried to fuck us in the rear, we wouldn't bend over for them, and now they changed their policy. While this will be good news for some, they still won't be getting my money, not with PS4 still being $100 cheaper, more powerful, region-free, and with no Kinect. Legend Zero
Even without the DRM causing a mess they still focused too much on TV for me to care. I know they have some decent games, but the only one I'm really sad about missing is Titanfall. Plus, the way Don and Major Nelson talked about their vision make me (and should make everyone else) skeptical about the future of the X1.

While this will be good news for some, they still won't be getting my money, not with PS4 still being $100 cheaper, more powerful, region-free, and with no Kinect. It is not region locked. However the issue of them being able to flip back after it sells is an issue. Yea, thats my problem. They still thought what they were doing was the correct thing to do. That says a lot and this shouldn't be forgiven as quickly as it seems to be. Legend Zero
Wait a second....I just saw a video in which they showed all the times in which a MS rep said the 24hr check was "because the cloud computing". This 180 on policy basically means that was a bunch of bs. ._.

Lord Metallium
GUYS CHECK THIS OUT NOW XBOX REPENTS FOR WHAT THEY DID Thanks to my country newspaper im gonna copy this and of course translated it JUST READ Mattrick said the changes are in response to feedback that Microsoft received since revealing plans for the console in May. Microsoft backed down to a much-criticized requirement that its new Xbox One would have to be connected to the Internet on a regular basis, and made it clear that there will be limitations to share games. Microsoft Corp. was criticized for the vague statements made on whether to allow buyers One use Xbox games for sale. Users also expressed their displeasure with the requirement that the console connects to the Internet at least every 24 hours. Don Mattrick, president of the Interactive Entertainment Division at Microsoft, said in a blog post published Wednesday that the internet connection would no longer be required to play on the Xbox One after initial installation, which allows users to share and play video games in the same way as they do with the Xbox 360. Mattrick said the changes are in response to feedback that Microsoft received since revealing plans for the console in May. "You told us how much they liked the flexibility they have today with games on disc.'s Ability to provide, share and sell these games at their discretion is of incredible importance to you," he wrote. "It is also important for you free to play offline, for indefinite periods, anywhere in the world." In an announcement that he intended to dent Microsoft, Sony Corp. announced last week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles that the new PlayStation 4 console will not require a constant connection to the Internet and the company does not restrict sales used games. Both consoles will go on sale in the coming months, prices for the Xbox One $ 499, 399 and the PS4.
Tentacruel
While we shouldn't be Microsoft credit for reversing it, why is everyone sucking Sony's dick for not having DRM? Sony was going to have DRM but they saw how much flak Microsoft got for having it. Nintendo never considered it, but of course no one cares about that. Not really pointing this at YCM, just the internet in general.
.:Blu:.
A bit late on the news there, Metal.Tentacruel, everyone (no, not everyone) is "sucking Sony's dick" because the PS4 didn't have any DRM, used game restrictions, etc. in the first place and no one cared about Nintendo's policy because the Wii U was released a year ago (I believe). At that time, most people wouldn't have even think this whole DRM fiasco might happen so when it did happen, the buzz was centered around the PS4 and Xbox One. Since PS4 didn't have any of that crap to begin with, people felt it proper to praise the PS4 for it. And how the hell do you know that Sony was going to have DRM on PS4? Do you have any hard evidence that states they were going to implement DRM and such for PS4 or are you just pulling this out of your ass? Sony clearly did the right thing as opposed to Microsoft and so why is it wrong for people to praise it?

Not really pointing this at YCM, just the internet in general. I still love Nintendo as a company more than either Sony or Microsoft. because they have never tried to f*** their customers over (as far as I know a least) the only reason I buy PlayStation consoles more than Nintendo consoles is because I like the PlayStation games more and the Nintendo's games don't attract me as much. Onto the next point... Sony get's more credit than Microsoft because even if they did have DRM, it was gone instantly once they realized it was a bad idea (assuming they had any) It took Microsoft this long to get rid of their DRM that we knew they had, and the fact that they got rid of it at all proves that it wasn't as necessary as they tried to make it seem. And I don't trust anybody who makes it that difficult to understand their intentions.
Tentacruel
Oh, no, I know they get more credit than Microsoft, but a lot of Sony's fanboys are just using it as an excuse to declare the PS4's unrivaled victory.
.:Blu:.
Well, now Xbox One is back in the competition. I might even pick one up later in the next gen life cycle but, for now, I'm going PS4, Wii U, and PC.
Flame Dragon
Well, now Xbox One is back in the competition. I might even pick one up later in the next gen life cycle but, for now, I'm going PS4, Wii U, and PC. Its back, but it has a broken leg. This still ended up as a giant PR nightmare where the higher ups in MS look like incompetent liars who might not deserve your full trust. They thought this was a smart move, when everything they know about gamers would tell them otherwise. They said that th system needed the cloud and patching over all this stupid crap isn't something that can be done, or at least not done so soon. This was still their vision of the future meaning even if they don't bring back this crap in the near future, I think they can if they wanted, but that isn't realistic, some time down the line I would not put it past them to try this stuff again. The simple fact is that this hurt the brands image badly, and sales that aren't coming back have been lost.
.:Blu:.
Well yeah, the damage has been done. Basically, they lied through their ass and it's only right that they suffer for it. Also, we can't fully trust Microsoft now, at least not yet. They didn't stick to their initial policy so who's to say they won't pull a fast one on consumers and gradually revert back to their previous policy model (used game restrictions, DRM, etc.) after they have a large enough fanbase? Although, for now, I'm glad we can call this a win for consumers. Also, I find it really stupid that Microsoft would remove the family sharing feature of the Xbox One. It's like they didn't get their way so to spite consumers, Microsoft decides to remove features.
Nathanael D. Striker
I wouldn't call it flat out lying tbh. It seems you guys don't believe in the possibility that Microsoft actually had a change of heart and finally realized the flaws in their former policy with the Xbox One. Just saying. .:Blu:.
I think it's more like they saw the Xbox One pre-order numbers and they realized, "shit we're screwed if we don't change this." They didn't listen to the consumers' complaints before E3 or even after E3. It's only when after they saw how bad they were doing pre-order-wise that they had this supposed "change of heart". It seems you guys don't believe in the possibility that Microsoft actually had a change of heart and finally realized the flaws in their former policy with the Xbox One. Just saying. The only reason they changed was because of the pre-orders being 50000 Sony units to something around 3000 Microsoft units from Amazon alone. I know this for a fact because Microsoft paid Amazon to take the pre-order figures down. > _>

Yea, even if they didn't out and out say say removing DRM was very hard, they heavily implied it. That would be a lie. They said the system needs to phone home because it needs the cloud to play games. Cearly that also wasn't true. This is why I'm saying they lied. They were making up crap to justify their stupid choices, and now that they went and got rid of them they just look stupid.
Dad
I'm a dedicated PC gamer. But after seeing what's being dropped on PS4 I'm snatching one of those up. But on topic, I kinda feel bad for Microsoft. I mean, I knew they were a bunch of jarheads, but they shouldn't have made the original announcement with all the stupid ass restrictions in the first place. To sell to a gamer, you have to think like one.
