Sad part is, Microsoft is not going to change anything as long as there's people who buy it. They only listen to money, and because they marketed the device as an all-in-one entertainment system, there's bound to be people somewhere who'll buy it just to be even lazier. There's also people who want to get it just to mess with the voice command, so Microsoft probably wouldn't fail, they'll just be hated forever by the "hardcore gamers."

And this is the part that bugs me. I'm currently argueing with my friends about how simply buying this crap is doing a disservice to the gaming industry since if this succeeds it is bound to result in more and more companies following in their footsteps.

The XBone is not going to be bought by any gamer that actually cares about console quality. it'll probably have quite a few good exclusives, but until they change the ridiculous amount of restrictions on it, it's not being bought without a serious lapse in common sense.

Would you accept it if someone gave it to you as a gift? I mean, you aren't buying it.

I would tell them to give me the receipt after they gave me it. then I would go get a refund and save the money for when KH3 and FFXV come out to the PS4.

My one friend is dead set on telling me that all he cares about is the games.

Also, I'm not smart, so someone give me the problems with needing an internet connection for XBone. I have a general idea, but I'd like my fleshed out reasons. Thank you.

If you don't wish to give those, heres something I was shown.

Hmm, I may be more inclined to give Microsoft some slack if that is the case, and if they make the game prices extremely low to the point where used games wouldn't be sought after due to the low prices to begin with. Like Microsoft will be smart enough to do that. XD

My problem is, why make the XO into Stream. If peple want to use steam, they'll just use steam.

There are those (like me) who aren't so trusting in buying stuff over the internet. Probably they will go towards the XO as a result.

That us fair. However some of the stuff people don't like, like having a whole bunch of important things hanging by a hair (ie; if your data gets lost for what ever reason your screwed). I mean, sure it sucks if that were to happen on any of the systems since they have internal memory. However with the XO if something goes wrong your not just out the save datat, but the game itself is more or less gone.

if the article is real, then they get respect for trying to advance the market in a newer direction, but they are still doing a terrible job at PR and information distribution, they could have just said that at the conference instead of the cover-up crap they pulled for e3 and the 600 tag on first day releases.

Even if you have the best internet possible, S*** happens. internet can be lost for over 24 hours for a lot of people in a lot of situations, and there are places in America and other countries that don't have internet at all. you get my point? it's the principle of they are screwing over fans who would have loved to simply play their games offline, and that ruins the experience knowing that you could lose everything once the system is outdated and no longer gets updates. Maybe you WILL be able to move your data onto the next new system, but How can you say for sure you'll be in the same financial state in the next 5-6 years when a new system comes out?

My best friend just moved out on his own and is struggling with his fiancé to keep his rent and electricity paid, He doesn't have internet anymore (It's been 2 months and he's starting to stabilize again) but he still loves to play games on his 360 and ps3. the new restrictions screw him and people like him over. a lot of gamers are pissed because they've been in those positions, and they know what it's like to have to prioritize what they need to do/ have over what they'd love to do/ have. games are an escape to many, from the bull**** that goes on in life, you can sit back and immerse yourself in another world in your console game, and kill hordes of enemies and to forget about payments, family issues, and work for a day or two if you have the time. With the XBone you would now have to live with the reminder that if you don't keep your internet payments up, you lose your escape route, it takes away the choice of prioritizing one thing over another, some people need their games to keep from snapping at their boss at work, or their teacher in school. I realize that internet isn't too big a deal in the modern age for more and more people, but it's still a big deal for far too many people for this 24 hour thing to be implemented.

The XBone is making it even harder to enjoy the things we love (Games like Mass effect, Blazblue, Tales of anything!) without having to worry about priorities. Things like prioritizing rent and electricity over cable, phone and internet happens, and you sometimes can't see it coming until your paycheck is shorter than you expected, a lot of gamers know that, and they sympathize with the gamers who they know either can't afford internet or live in places that have little to no internet possibilities. And yes, I know the ps4 requires a paid yearly subscription to play online, but at the very least, you can play your games offline, and that's all some people want/ need from their consoles. to be happy.

Also, there are more things wrong than just the internet issue like The constant monitoring by the Kinect. If you don't unplug the whole system it still listens to you even when you don't turn it on. that's not only creepy, but it's a forced gimmick that very few people wanted to be forced to keep. There's the problem of the government being able to take all that data (I'm not worried about that problem, but it still exists) the way it's being marketed turns people off to the entire system, and the lack of a borrowing games is a MASSIVE minus for Microsoft. No matter what they say about emulating steam, even steam allows you share accounts if you wish. you won't be able to play your games at the same time, but you don't lose them forever either.

All games are tied to an account? what about the people who don't have or want an account because they just want to play games with no strings attached? or homes with multiple systems? (They might have fixed that up I'm not sure, but I doubt it'll be as smooth as just handing your brother a disk and being done with him) They STILL haven't fixed up the rental system, so companies like gamefly are gonna be confusing as all hell to work with, and there are people who only play their games by way of gamefly because of the ease you can switch out games you don't like, PC's and steam don't have features like that and it turns me off to them somewhat.

And physical copies are physical copies. (people die when they are killed) and that's the way it should be. Microsoft isn't doing It that way, they are making it so you don't get to play ANY KIND OF GAME, unless you log in the disk and register/ download it. that is stupid, if they want to do it that ay then thy WILL kill of their system because console gaming is about more than online accounts and internet connections, Its about the offline experience as well: Playing of a great game offline because internet is acting up that week, letting your friend borrow a game you think they'll like so that you both can get the next installment when it drops(even if you haven't finished the first game you can still get it back!). having friends come over/ going over to a friends house whether or not you both have internet so you can play them in a fighting game or some other game that has PvP without the need for internet, turning in a game you don't want to play anymore for quick money to see a movie with your friends, trading in a game that you no longer want to get credit for the new game dropping that day/the next day, finding a game you've never heard of and getting it because you like the cover (whether or not it turns out to be good) knowing that you can just turn it in later for a different game if you wish to later.. theres more to games and consoles than online emulators and internet connections. Microsoft is forgetting that.

Theres still more, but I need to finish a story by tomorrow, so I'm done for the night.

A bright spot in the mess that's surrounding the Xbox 1 right now. This feature seems to work best when there's 1-2 people in your group to take advantage of it, but not any more than that. Although I'm already able to download games from other people's account from the PS3, so I admit that I do not understand this feature completely at the moment.

If someone gave me a Xbox One I would turn it into a potato battery. Because the console will one day become Glados, and a potato battery will be more useful for my life than an Xbox One.

One of my friends kinda summed it up well: The console might be great as a console, but the restrictions around it are so stupid it becomes a worthless piece of plastic.

I mean, the fact that after spending millions on developing this, they advised people with unstable internet to get an 360 is just completely stupid... They even know one of the flaws that would stop people buying it.

Another of my friends also wanted to say to microsoft: Stop being other companies, and just be Microsoft... Like you are good at. Don't be Steam, or Apple, or anything else... Just be fething Microsoft and make money from that.

Much better, my only claim against this is that it still does not factor in people who don't have internet, but want a new system, the amount of memory it'll take away from gaming, and the fact that the XBone is forcing a Kinect on you. Still, It's better that what we heard earlier. So why didn't they just say all of this during the reveal at E3?

Okay, now that is a sign of Microsoft getting their act together. Right?

My problem is that they have hardly made this known and the whole, I can't lend people games, but I can make it so 10 of my friends have my games 24/7 seems.......strange and a little too good to be true.

No, but this is not the kind of thing I expect any reasonable company to do. Microsoft might have screwed up on their console, and various other areas, but this is worse than a below the belt tactic or a funy commercial jab. it's just up-front rude and disrespectful to go to another companies event and try to diss their company.

Microsoft might be bad right now, but they're still better than this kind of maneuver.
