BANZAI!!!!
Nerfed. Its probably a good idea.
Name: Kazuma Ito Age: 17 Gender: Male Date of Birth: August 7th Blood Type: B- Hobby(s): Baseball (watching, playing, talking stats, etc..), Girls (he's quite the flirt), Martial Arts, Mecha anime (secretly), eating spicy food High School Year: 3rd Year
"Everything always comes down to one moment, one specific place and time. When you get there, make sure you're going full speed ahead. Then, nothing can stop you." Kazuma stands at about 6 feet tall. He is well toned, and In excellent shape, although he appears smaller than other boys his age due to his rather slender build. He has hazel eyes and usually wears a large smile. His grey hair is fairly long, and it looks messy more often than not. Although he doesn't flaunt it, Kazuma is actually quite attractive, and he looks very good in the school uniform. When not in his school Uniform, Kazuma prefers to wear a brown jacket (usually with some sort of t-shirt underneath it, but he sometimes forgoes the t-shirt when he is feeling extremely casual) and jeans. He tends to wear a brown and grey wristband on his right arm to cover up a particularly nasty looking burn scar on his arm. He wears a red headband and a grey baseball cap at all times. He even wears them at school when he can get away with it, and often gets in trouble with the faculty when he is caught doing so. He also tends to wear a simple silver necklace that his mother gave him a few years ago. It is usually tucked into his shirt. When pitching for Kumagawa High School's Varsity Baseball team, he wears their standard black and white Varsity Uniform. He has distinct bright red cleats and a black baseball glove. He is number 09. Notes: Although the picture above shows a scar on his left cheek, Kazuma has no such scar.

Usually the one to start a conversation, most people find Kazuma to be a pretty normal, fun-loving teenager. At first glance, Kazuma seems to be a typical high school athlete. He exudes confidence, is good with girls, and isn't academically inclined. Those who don't know him see Kazuma as just another loud, obnoxious jock. However, if one were to get closer to him, they would find a much different boy behind the "jock" exterior. Kazuma is actually quite friendly, and isn't nearly as mean spirited as some of his teammates tend to be. In fact, he is very empathetic. Kazuma always offers his support when his friends need it, and at the very least gives his trademark wide smile to someone with whom he is not so well acquainted. Of course, Kazuma's most defining character trait is his love for Baseball. He is obsessed with the sport, and takes every opportunity to train and improve himself (he even stood a girl up once to go train, although he never did so again). He dreams of one day playing in the American major leagues. Kazuma is quite lazy when it comes to things he has no interest in, like school. Although he is very intelligent, he usually just scrapes by with the bare minimum of effort needed to pass his classes, prefering to hang out with friends or practice his curve ball to doing homework. He is also quick to anger. Kazuma has never been afraid to get physical with someone, and has been in his fair share of fights. However, he is smart enough not to throw the first punch. When angry, Kazuma is very loud and vulgar. When it comes to girls, Kazuma has a bit of a wandering eye, although he rarely gets caught staring. He is also quite the flirt. Despite this, he is rarely in a relationship for long. Kazuma also has a more childish side to himself. He often cracks dirty jokes, and has a fairly good sense of humor. He is secretly a mecha anime fan, and has a small collection of gunpla cleverly hidden in his closet. He will steadfastly deny this if asked, however.

Force Breaker: Kazuma's weapon of choice is his own fist. To augment this, he forms a red metal gauntlet that he calls Force Breaker around his left arm. Force Breaker is, for the most part, form fitting, although the forearm portion seems to be quite a lot thicker, so that it can parry attacks. The gauntlet forms around the arm up to the top of the bicep. It has five fingers, and also materializes a red shoulder pauldron as well.

Phasing: As a Joker, Kazuma is able to utilize Phasing to go between the two realms at will.Spatial Shift: A common ability among human and spirit Jokers, this power allows for Jokers to perform extraordinary feats of acrobatics such as jumping incredibly high and far, dodging speeding objects and attacks, levitating and flying, and even instant teleporting by means of manipulating space. When using Spatial Shift, a Joker displaces his/her position in space and shifts himself/herself to a new part of space. This shift can be gradual (a high jump) or instant (teleportation) and will appear accordingly. A Joker can also suspend his/her position in space (levitation) and continue to move while still being suspended (flying). Each shift (except for suspended shifts) is accompanied by the flickering of a golden luminescence under a Joker's feet. Motion Burst: Kazuma's powers allow him to manipulate kinetic and potential energy at will. Since he is inexperienced, he can only affect himself or any object he touches. He can vastly increase the potential energy of any object, and then convert the whole of this potential into kinetic energy. In other words, he can accelerate any object (including himself) to speeds hundreds of times faster than the laws of physics would normally allow. He has named this ability "Motion Burst" due to the instantaneous manner in which he can accelerate objects. In combat, Kazuma will usually use this ability to accelerate objects that he throws from his left arm. However, he is also quite fond of accelerating himself. This, combined with his ability to spacial shift, means that he can strike with incredible destructive force. However, maneuvering either himself or thrown objects is extremely difficult due to his still human reflexes. Its is quite possible for him to move these objects in any way he wants, its just that he almost never has more than a millisecond to do so. If either a thrown object or Kazuma himself has an unobstructed straight path, then in theory it could accelerate infinitely. Motion Guard: Kazuma can also vastly decrease the potential or kinetic energy of an object. He can use this power to make an object immovable, or even decrease the destructive force of an enemy's attack. However, the limitation of his own reflexes still applies, and he must be able to react fast enough and make physical contact with the object in order for this to have any effect.

Radar Breaker: One of Kazuma's Typical attacks. He uses his Joker abilities to manipulate a piece of nearby matter and change it into a spherical form. Then, he throws a fastball with it and uses his Motion Burst ability to propel it to extremely high speed. He has likened this ability to being hit with a heavy artillery shell. The longer the distance the projectile travels, the faster and more forceful the hit will be. He can also utilize other baseball pitches with this attack if he wishes to confuse his enemy. Force Buster: Using his Spacial Shift ability, Kazuma flies up to a great height (usually about 50 feet above his opponent, to give himself distance to accelerate, but not so much that they have time to dodge). Then using a combination of gravity and Motion Burst, he descends at his opponent with a superman punch. This impact is usually stronger than one generated by Radar Breaker. Warp Buster: First, Kazuma builds up as much potential energy in his left arm as he possibly can. Then, similar to the Force Buster, Kazuma accelerates himself using Motion Burst. Instead of Charging with his fist outstretched, however, he keeps his arm at the ready. After he has accelerated sufficiently, Kazuma Teleports to his target's location using Spatial shift, and converts all of the potential energy in his fist into kinetic energy as he punches his target at point blank range. This combines the already incredible acceleration of his motion burst with a massively accelerated punch. This attack routinely strikes with destructive force exponentially greater than his Force Buster. This is by far Kazuma's strongest attack. However the sheer force of his strike combined with the speed of his arm movement and the sudden stop will always cause damage to Kazuma himself. Usually in the form of whiplash or, in worse cases, a hyper extended arm. Thus, the attack is a double edged sword. Generally, Kazuma's body can only withstand one of these attacks per battle. Should he use it any more times he risks permanently damaging his body.

Kazuma's Favorite color is red, and his favorite food is curry with rice. His favorite Baseball player is Hideki Matsui Kazuma practices mixed martial arts to keep himself in shape. He is experianced in Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu

What could be real is what our conscience is not programmed to see, for not all people were made to see infinity and not wither away in a void of thought."Personal InformationUsername: Observative JokerName: Hiraku Kazue - 拓和枝Age: 17Gender: MaleDate of Birth: May 18, 1996Blood Type: OHobby(s): Drawing, writing screenplays, daydreamingHigh School Year: 2nd year

Personality: Hiraku was born autistic, however it took 12 years before his parents brought him to a doctor to diagnose him as such. This autism of Hiraku showed with his inhuman ability to scan an environment with one glance and describe it entirely by the tiniest detail within any time frame. Hiraku's autism was more contemporarily described as Asperger's Syndrome with his hesitation to get involved in any social activity throughout his years of growing up. He never considered anyone to be his friend despite how they address themselves as such. Hiraku prefers to spend his time outside in scenic landscapes than inside any kind of building, where occasionally he would take a sketchbook out and draw what he saw in front of him. His artistic personality made him a well-respected person around his peers.Combat InformationWeapons:Mahou (魔法) Paintbrush: Meaning "magic" paintbrush, this artistic tool gives Hiraku the power to bring whatever he draws to life so long as it can fit through the area of the sketchbook.Niku ni Nuru (肉に塗る): "Paint from Flesh", a hatchet that Hiraku named to describe what the axe draws when it's driven into anything that bleeds, symbolizing the blood as red paint. Hiraku has the power to draw a deceased person and bring them back to life temporarily by drawing blood from their corpse with Niku ni Nuru and applying it to the drawing while summoning them. Power(s):Phasing: As a Joker, Hiraku has the ability to phase between the material world and Limbo.Sukecchi Seikatsu (スケッチ生活): "Sketch Life", the ability to draw anything and summon it from the paper in realistic form. Nekurosukecchi (ネクロスケッチ): "Necrosketch", cooperates with Sukecchi Seikatsu, but requires the blood of a deceased person in order to bring them back to life through the sketch book. Once the spell is cast, however, the paper begins to slowly disintegrate, and the body slowly begins to dissipate back into Limbo. Special Attack(s): Practically every attack from Hiraku comes from his Sukecchi Seikatsu ability, but the moves he considers special are the ones he uses most often:Honoo ga Funshutsu (炎が噴出) - Flame Gush: A torrent of flames spurt out, scalding anything within its reach.Arashi Raida (嵐ライダー) - Tempest Rider: A giant cumulonimbus cloud is conjured up, and Hiraku rides it and controls the power of the tempest to strike lightning wherever he wishes. Shuriken no Arashi (手裏剣の嵐) - Shuriken Storm: Using wind as a complementing adhesive to a barrage of shuriken, Hiraku whirls around in a cyclone fashion as shuriken spit out at extremely high speeds in all directions. </div> Other Information Hiraku has an inept fear of sudden loud noises, balloons, stand-up urinals, and objects in the sky that, if closer, would cover up the area. Definitely a unique character here. I honestly don't see anything wrong with it. I don't know much about Asperger's, but I wonder if he would even be able to function in a combat setting. That would be my only hesitation with your application.

I don't know much about Asperger's, but I wonder if he would even be able to function in a combat setting. That would be my only hesitation with your application. Aspberger's is a social disability, so combat isn't a problem at all. He'll just be a bit shy and reserved in the events of any character interaction. Thanks for the skim, though. bury the year
I realize people've been getting excited about this, but try to keep conversation that's not incredibly urgent to a minimum. a coffee
Well, the closer we draw to the deadline, the more and more I am tempted to change my application but... I wont. I still stand by that the best characters are the ones that are made on your feelings, not your criticisms. I do have a question about the plot that, may or may not be important to me but I'd like to know of anyway. Is there any reason these characters would be going to this place? I included one in my application, being unsure of it, but it does have me curious.

~Tico~
Good grief, that took way longer than I thought it would. But the moment has arrived, and I am done. Huzzah.
"An endless expanse of blue, deep as the fathomless ocean. Just what sort of story does your image tell, I wonder?" Username: Paradoxical Joker Name: Takayuki Hoshihara Age: 16 Gender: Male Date of Birth: November 11 Blood Type: AB Hobbies: Drawing his own 4-koma, biking, reading slice of life manga, playing with a kendama High School Year: 2nd Year Student
While being of a slightly lighter build at 45 kg (99 pounds), Muraku is most often distinguished by his sub-par height of 156 cm (5 feet, 1 inch), making him easily a head shorter than his peers. With the typical black hair and healthy complexion, Takayuki's other main distinctions are from a portion of hair towards the right side of his face that are all dyed red on the ends and from his mismatched pair of eyes due to a case of heterochromia. His left is a bright (some call it piercing) blue while the right is a rich brown. His hair, despite his efforts to keep it somewhat neat, looks as if it was rumpled by a strong wind; not too neat, but not overly messy, just out of place. In school. he wears the standard uniform with both tie and jack as they are supposed to be, although he is known to forgo the jacket on several occasions while at school. His casual outfit consists of a black t-shirt adorned with white stripes, grey cargo pants (most of the time with the many pockets empty), and white sneakers. On occasion, he can be seen with a black jacket as well, but he never really wears it, preferring to wear it around his shoulders like a cape instead.

From a simple glance, Takayuki seems, for lack of a better word, mundane. He himself would agree, to an extent. He does his schoolwork, enjoys his spare time with all that he’s got, and socializes when given the opportunity; the same as a lot of people. On that note though, he’s rather accepting of differences and will make the extra effort to try and reach out to those “outliers”: the ones that don’t seem like they want/have friends, are quirky and thus unaccepted, etc. Why? Partly because he believes everyone is entitled to a life worth living. An obvious criteria of such is one where the person can be happy and he associates happiness with having at least one friend to count on because when all feels wrong, sometimes it just take one helping hand to start things on the right track. But that’s only part of the reason. The other half is because...well, while Takayuki himself was fortunate enough that people got over his bizarre behavior (or those who made fun of him were already doing that because of his height), he too considers himself a bit of an irregular, and not without good reason. Among his two defining quirks, the first is a relatively simple, yet sometimes off-putting one. Upon meeting a person, Takayuki will envision an image based on his first impressions of them gathered from appearance, manner of speaking, and general atmosphere. This image, he claims, gives him a further idea of who they are and where their path will lead. On most occasions, he simply views the image for that aspect and proceeds back to normal conversation with said person. However, on a few instances, he saw what he interpreted as an ill omen from the mental image that originates from their own personal flaws. Being the sort of person he is, he tried to tell them of where he believed their problem lay and how they might go about improving themselves. However, his general method of giving advice is rather blunt with language and, in all cases, struck a wrong chord with the people he was attempting to advise. That, coupled with the fact that to everyone else, he seemed to be spouting these things from nowhere made people wonder if he was a little “out there”, so to speak. Most people generally would not use the word “weak” to describe themselves. Obviously never in public, and only ever occasionally to themselves Takayuki is probably the only one who would ever base a good portion of his mentality around a philosophy that emphasized one’s own weakness as a way to inspire strength. Some might use their sense of helplessness to convince themselves they need change, but Takayuki takes it a step higher. Having once been told the phrase “The weaker a dog, the louder he barks” at a young age (although it was only as a way to get him to quiet down), he eventually grew obsessed with what “strength” actually meant and how “weakness” ought to be defined. Eventually, as years went by and he continued to ponder this idea, he came to the conclusion that ultimately, it doesn't’ come down to how muscular or tough you are or if you have supernatural powers. Takayuki’s “solution” was that one could only be truly strong through refining their mind, resolve, restraining their emotion, and attaining a true understanding of who they are and what they wanted of the world. By such a feat, he concluded, one could walk a path of no regrets; never faltering through hardship, that’s what being “strong’ meant to him. Even to the current day, Takayuki remains unsatisfied with his “self” and uses “weak” to describe himself because man’s instinct is to reject such a derogatory label and push on to prove such a thing wrong; creating, in effect, a reverse psychology motivator.
Combat Information
Takayuki’s weapon is truly unusual. Rather than pick some form of conventional weaponry, he chose something inexplicable to most: the power ball. A mere childrens toy, whose characteristic is its elasticity that enables it to repeatedly bounce off surfaces. Takayuki, however, takes this to a new level by imagineering them into offensive weapons. His created power bals have several times the elasticity of normal ones, allowing them enhanced force behind each “rebound”. Furthermore, each is also denser and has a considerably strong impact (similar to that of being hit with a reasonably sized stone). Given their bounciness, Takayuki’s main strategy behind his weapons is to simply overwhelm opponents via mass numbers of them being hurled at once, trapping the enemy in a seemingly endless storm of power balls bouncing all around them. One misstep can lead to an instant downfall into demise, as one hit is often enough to ensure that the target is disoriented enough to stumble into the path of the next few. At that point, it’s all downhill from there.

Phasing: As a Joker, Takayuki is able to utilize Phasing to go between the two realms at will. Spatial Shift: A common ability among human and spirit Jokers, this power allows for Jokers to perform extraordinary feats of acrobatics such as jumping incredibly high and far, dodging speeding objects and attacks, levitating and flying, and even instant teleporting by means of manipulating space. Loop Reel: Using a form of "time containment", Takayuki can "isolate" the instance of his performing an action (like executing a punch, for example) and "record" it. The things he are capable of recording must be either a single action in this form, it can be complex) or a repetition of the same or similar actions (ie a series of slashes) and it must be performed by Takayuki himself. Once it has been recorded, he can mentally access and "load" it into the real world, creating a physical copy of himself. The copy only lasts until it executes the action and can be destroyed by a strong enough attack. If the recorded action includes a weapon, tool, or some form of object, it will be included, but if the recorded action is some form of attack that requires special powers, the strength of the attack will be decreased by about half. The recording itself will disintegrate after being "loaded" three times. Ionization: Takayuki can extract or change the charges of an object by will. Said object must be within a close proximity (1 1/2 feet, at most) but once he is, inserting or removing the necessary electrons for giving molecules a charge takes, more or less, a mere thought. At the current time, Takayuki can only use this to achieve basic ionization, that is to say, changing the charges of molecules and atoms. If his skills were to improve, it is possible he could manually create plasmas or enact quantum tunneling. As a drawback, the arm he uses to "charge" literally going numb depending on how much of the object's overall molecules he charged and of course, the number of objects he charged. Furthermore, as his body almost always experiences some form of current being run through it due to use of this power, extensive use within a short span can lead to him utterly scrambling his nervous system. Electromagnetic Field: As an ability to complement his ionization, Takayuki can also conjure an electromagnetic field. At the current time, it’s maximum size is about 2 and a half yards in both width and length (228.6 cm). As with ionization, Takayuki can manipulate the charges that make up the field itself, either in just simply shifting from positive to negative or by altering the stationary and moving charges that maintain the field. His most common usage of this is to repel enemies by sticking a charge on them with ionization beforehand and then shifting the charge of the field so as to create a like-like repulsion. Similarly, he can use the repulsion and attraction aspects in order to divert or reshape any charges or the path of charged objects within the vicinity. If Takayuki erects a fully-sized field, he must remain within its boundaries for it to remain manifested. That aside, keeping a field of any size active for any length of time dulls his movements for as long as it is out. Takayuki will also experience a mild but constant pressure on the brain, which can lead to headaches post-battle.

Given Takayuki’s particular "philosophy" emphasizing constant progress, having a so-called special attack would be unnecessarily pretentious in his eyes. After all, as one gains more experience, there is no guarantee that their style of fighting will not change in some form or another, and to him, a move that seemed powerful at a time when he was "weak" would probably be viewed as obsolete once enough time had passed and his skills had grown. Nonetheless, considering his particular preference for a specific method of empowering the launch of his weapons, it could be considered almost a "trademark" attack. (See below) Ignition Blaster- Raimei (Ignition Blaster- Thunder): Creating a small positively charged EM field around his hand, Takayuki grasps a power ball firmly with his thumb, index and middle finger. Then, utilizing his ionization ability, he converts the molecules of said power ball into positively charged ones at the moment of release. The resulting repulsion of like forces propels the power ball forward at speeds comparable to a gun's bullet. Taking into account that the ball is also charged with energy, the enemy is in for quite the "shocking" (ba-dum-tss) impact.
Other Information - Takayuki means (to the best of my knowledge) "moving to heights" or "noble journey". - Closer acquaintances just call him “Taka” (lit. Hawk). - Takayuki really enjoys math and nothing can get him to settle down like a complex problem to solve. - His height has long since ceased to be a topic of verbal jabs, as he has displayed ambivalence towards such a topic for so long practically all have given up trying to incoke a reaction.
