SAO might actually have a shot if it's allowed creative flexibility and if it's confined to the first arc. I'd say 20th Century Boys and Space Brothers too, though those actually got movies in Japan. I really hope that they do a good job on it. [i]monster[/i] is one of my favorite mangas and the only one that I own all the books of. It seems like a good fit for a live adaption, and HBO is pretty reliable for quality work, so it should be great. As an answer to the topic, any anime/manga with heavy fantasy elements like Naruto/Bleach/One Piece would fail (see: Avatar: The Last Airbender and Dragon Ball: Evolution). You know, since it's basically about morality doesn't mean shit when it comes to survival and some abstract thinking like whether it's possible to fight fate.
