Making your threads "spammable"

What I mean is that you make it so you will simply have the option when you make the thread if you want it to count posts and stuff, that way there can be just threads about anything in the right place.

I don't think IPB can support that feature. The closest thing we have is sections with post count disabled, and I doubt mods will give us the power to make that decision for threads IF it was available. Like I said, I doubt it exists for threads.

oh, I thought this was a custom forum format, I didn't know it worked of a template like thing, I guess if that's not possible, there's not much I can do :(

Yea, this forum is limited by what the IPB software can offer in that regard. Sorry.

Even if we had the option to do this I doubt it would ever be put into practice. Just because you would make a thread with post counts disable and say it is ok, does not mean it would be immune to the forum rule of no spamming, ect.

What you are describing and what YCM is are two different things (if I'm reading this correctly). You want threads that act as chat rooms, which they are not. If you want to chat, go to a chat (or use the status bar).
