Just Crouton Posted April 26, 2013 Report Share Posted April 26, 2013 In a thread last year, I mentioned Yu-Gi-Oh! Asylum as a fanfic I'll never write, but I've updated ideas for it. It takes place in Neo Domino shortly after Yusei defeated Z-ONE and that crap finale. The protagonist, a half-naked woman (don't judge me) covered in bandages like a mummy with horns on her forehead, is sent to the titular asylum because she doesn't care for Duel Monsters (because in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!, especially 5D's, you must be insane to not want to play the game.) She makes friends with a mutant rat boy who joked that Yusei is a queer for the whole "turning gold in space" thing (because in the world of 5D's, everybody likes Yusei because,) and they soon discover that their reality is merging into several others, mainly the Zexalverse, and Xyzs are making their way into the originalverse, and that they may come from another reality themselves, which is why they look so weird. The villain is a mad scientist named Wilbur Kozaky who is responsible for merging the realities by using Momentum to discover how to divide by 0 (explanation: It's Yu-Gi-Oh!,) opening a portal to a another, darker reality, which then caused this crisis, and sent evil cards everywhere that make no sense. Basically, the story takes Yu-Gi-Oh! from stupid to beyond absurdity. It generally takes place in the asylum where everybody is nuts, more than the Duel Academy students in GX, and have crazy designs like the characters in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Strikes Again because the artwork is awesome.
