Continuation of this thread.

You need to take this up with Grangrel if you have a problem with his decision NOT post it here.

I'm locking this topic for that reason.

The problem is that it is exactly these things, that need public attention. Others can only contribute to the discussion, and if not, there will at least be awareness of the state of affairs here. I don't see why YCM would need to take on an evil communist policy where no negativity or critique about the regime may be released. I'm creating this thread for that reason.

I can see that it comes off as if I'm just trying to satisfy my need to retaliate, but I'm making this thread because I honestly feel that:

  • I have something to add to the discussion
  • I feel that it should be a public discussion
  • I am not quite convinced that you have provided enough reason why the thread should be locked. You can of course say that you, as a mod, have the last say in that, but I also think that actual arguments should have a bigger weight in this. It seems more to me that you, as a mod, provide a public service by locking the threads that actually need to be locked. Your opinion in particular should not stand out for the sole reason that you're a mod.

So, without further ado:

The idea, one would say, behind locking a thread, is that the topic should not be further discussed. When locking the thread, Gangrel actually did just that: rather than stating why the topic should not be discussed, he discussed the topic further. This only shows that there are still arguments that needed to be resolved, and it's all the more reason why the thread should stay open.

"[N]othing constructive will come of this" was given as a reason why the thread was locked, but locking the thread does nothing to solve it. When one is confronted with such a situation, there are two options:

  • ignore it and leave the thread
  • actually come up with arguments until the thread became constructive

The former is what Crab Helmet and Pharaoh Atem, among few others, used to do, but when they realized how incredibly hard it is to teach this community, they left it to decay into what it has become.

It's understandable if you're too lazy to do the latter, but it's no reason to even temporarily lock the thread.

Even if "you're so wrong it hurts" was a valid reason to close a thread, one should at least have the opportunity to defend themselves. The problem is that, apparently, Gangrel's moderator status makes his arguments stand out so much that they're instantly a reason to conclude that the OP was wrong. There is no chance to respond to this declaration - when he plays the mod card, the game is over. I can't begin to express how ironic it is, that this reminds me of Exodia.

That's right, I reveal to you the true face of our bully moderators:

1) I believe I gave a valid reason. You have a problem with the mod's decisions you tell them, not air it to the whole populace. I'm sure if you approached Gangrel/Black he would elaborate on his reasoning.

2) If Gangrel felt nothing good could come of the topic that's usually a sign it needs locking. To prevent spamming.

3) If there are problems you need to bring it up to the mods in question not go over their heads.

4) I would edit your post, as I feel you over stepped the mark on the last sentence, but I feel as though I should be the better person and you are entitled to your comments.

LOCKED for the same reason as the last. SPEAK TO GANGREL BEFORE POSTING AGAIN.
