Hotaru987
Nailah continued her search, asked a few people if they had happened to see Leon anywhere. Someone told her that they saw him head out the Western gates, so she followed the lead. Unfortunately she didn't find him, but when she was outside she heard some music. Curiosity got the better of her and she saw Genzai sitting with someone. The conversation appeared pretty serious so she didn't intrude and instead headed back to the festivities. Looking around some more she spotted her other companion, Quillian, surrounded by females. Nailah laughed, "Typical Quillian. Seriously though, how does he do it?" She mumbled amazed at the males natural charm and charisma with the opposite sex. Deciding that she didn't want to get caught in that, she scurried away. After a while of searching she finally found someone who saw him head out of the building only a few minutes ago. This time, she was able to successfully track down Leon, laying down and relaxing. "Finally, I've been searching for you for the better part of half an hour." Nailah called out, "Mind if I sit with you?" After the inevitable answer, she took a seat beside him hugging her legs to her chest. Now that she was hear she was unsure what exactly to talk about, so she went for the default questions, "So how are you enjoying the party so far? It's pretty lively in there, and Quillian's already rounded up quite the group." She smiled attempting to hide her nervousness.
Kyng's Old Account
"Finally, I've been searching for you for the better part of half an hour. Mind if I sit with you?" These were the questions that had Leon tilt his head upwards to get a glance of Nailah, albeit upside down. He chuckled softly and nodded. "It'd be very awkward if I said no. Go right ahead, you're always welcome in my company." He smiled as he watched her take a seat, somewhat pouting as she hugged her legs to her chest for reasons, but as she felt silent he began to ponder why she had came over to him. Was she looking for him to ask him something, or was it company? Maybe he should instigate conversation? Truth be told the air carried its tense vibe, understandably between two members of the opposite sex, but the silence between these two was a little bit exaggerated of this old stereotype. Nailah broke the ice as she asked whether Leon enjoyed the party as of yet, as well as letting him know of Quillan's accomplishments as of yet - of course what Nailah meant was likely different from what Leon assumed, for a slight pang of envy bolted through Leon's spine as he though how could that cheesy, lecherous Casanova get more action than he had? Leon guised this well though, and chuckled to Nailah's regard of the Vanguard. "Why am I not surprised, it was about time something happened to Quillan." he said, ironically the sentence general enough to apply to both the reality and Leon's conception on Quillan's fate. Following this he took a deep breath and thought for a moment. "I have enjoyed the party, but not as much as I would have liked to. Quillan and Genzai have been busy, and I've only just seen you tonight." Chuckling a little bit he looked to her smile, before thinking for a moment. "Truth be told, you getting here's been the best thing that happened tonight. You've no idea how much I value your company, Nailah." He felt a little bit unnerved, but let his imbued abilities allow him to overcome his concerns and come out with it. "I value it the most. I've grown attached to the reliable power of your magic, and your uplifting spirit you give out to everyone. I like that a lot about you, you're so easy to get along with and have fun with - not to mention you're as beautiful as you are talented, and you're the most talented Vanguard I know." Maybe it was Anhur's encouragement, maybe it was the relaxed nature of the festival, maybe it was the vast 'events' going on, but whatever the case Leon as eager. Wondering if he sent across the message he chuckled and sat up. "I could go for a drink. What about yourself?" Meanwhile, Aaron listened to the worries that Genzai went about, his concerns that all stemmed from a simple necklace. Aaron chuckled a little, before patting his back. "I'm sorry, no offence, but have you just realized we're being used?" Aaron started. "Genzai, it is highly likely each and every last Vanguard here will die and be sundered to oblivion. The Gods are using each and all of us, in order to try to stay alive, and to try and sway the new world's coming in their own image." Apollo offered Genzai a canister of wine, figuring it'd soothe him, even just a little. He seemed very stressed, in need to relax, and definitely blow off some steam. What better method to get that process going than booze? Aaron continued his speech: "You have to be optimistic, though, Genzai. After all, just because we're likely to die doesn't mean out tales won't be told in the new world. Think abo- no, dream about the legacy we will leave here, on this earth and all the universe it encompasses. Imagine all the possibilities your name could herald. We would be among the Heroes, perhaps even God-worthy." With a smirk, he took back the canister and swung it back, chugging a fair portion before wiping his mouth. "I say this - the past is for the depressed, and the future is for the anxious, but the present...the present, that's for those who want to do something with their lives, you know?" Aaron gave Genzai another pat on the back, before looking at him. "You need to get laid, big time. I heard Bastet's Vanguard is eager to explore her sensuality, and you need to blow off steam - trust me, I know.
Super Chaos Sonic
So the other Vanguards simply knew this truth? I suppose I was left in the dark for a reason. Genzai thought, as he kept listening to Apollo's Vanguard's words of wisdom. It felt strange for the Light Bringer's Vanguard to spout such wisdom...surely he was a matured warrior. A small smile appeared on the Shinto Vanguard's face as he finally stood up, along with Aaron. "Aaron, you surely do bring your patron god honor." he said, giving him a slight bow. "You have brought light once again to my soul. I thank you for this, Vanguard of Apollo." Before the two walked off, Aaron told him of Bastet's Vanguard, to which he gave a slight smile. "An interesting thought, my friend. I may just have to take up that offer." Genzai, no longer grieved with the elements of the past, returned to the festival. Surprising, not much had gone by since he left. However, entertainment was dying down slowly. The festivities here are becoming as of bleak look of the Underworld. he thought, before he took his ocarina. Ideas raced through his head, as he snapped his fingers, arriving at an idea that was just crazy enough to work...apparently some of Quillan's ideas rubbed off. Walking past the current entertainment, he arrived at the Muses: Apollo's half sisters. He also saw Aaron right behind him. "Aaron, I would like you and the Muses to follow my lead on a musical piece. Something to excite and entertain the masses. I have a few ideas of how to work this." he said, as he took out his ocarina. However he paused for a moment, as out of the corner of his eye, he saw Bastet's Vanguard amongst a small group. She turned slightly and smiled...meaning the Shinto Vanguard had a slight chance! A small smirk appeared on his face, as he turned back to the Muses and Aaron. "Are you going to be able to follow my lead? And no worries about trying to maintain the flow of the music, I noticed Benzaiten-sama here as well. She will be happy to assist as well." Benzaiten - One of the Seven Lucky Gods. Goddess of everything that flows (words, speech, eloquence, and music)
Hotaru987
"Why am I not surprised, it was about time something happened to Quillan." Nailah giggled, thinking along the same lines. She had never met someone like Quillan before, but as he had proven on occasions he had a very gifted way with words. "Yes, he certainly is a very popular person." Afterwards Leon took a deep breath before saying that he was enjoying the party thus far. After looking at her for a bit, he continued telling her that her company now was the best thing that happened to him tonight. Continuing he expressed that he valued her company most of all, even saying he trusted her talent and called her beautiful. If everything he said up until now hadn't effected her, she was surly feeling embarrassed now. As proven by the dark blush appearing on her cheeks. She wasn't exactly sure how to follow that, but she didn't want to completely clam up. The whole reason she went looking for Leon was to finally talk to him, and maybe defuse some of the underlying tension between them. "I could go for a drink. What about yourself?" "Yes!" Nailah quickly shouted, though quickly wincing afterwards "I mean uh, sure." 'Smooth Nailah.' She stood, walking back to the festivities along with Leon. Nailah, gathering up her own courage, voiced her thoughts as well. Even as she did she couldn't help but think it was much less nerve racking fighting Nidhogg, or venturing into the netherworld. It was strange how these things actually worked. "You know I think the same thing. Your company is something that I value as well, but not just that. Your strength, and skill in battle. Along with your amazing ability to command and inspire confidence and loyalty in your comrades stuns me every time. I really admire that about you, and you know you're not that bad looking yourself." She smiled at him, trying to appear confident though it was more a nervous smile than anything. She looked back down, suddenly frowning and sighed. She wasn't used to this feeling of uncertainty. Nailah as much more accustomed to being in control, and confident. She rubbed the back of her neck, a small pout on her lips. 'I should just go for it. It's much better than what I'm doing now. I bet I look like an idiot.' She sighed again more than annoyed with her inability to completely convey her thoughts. "This is stupid." Nailah mumbled to herself. Realizing that Leon would have heard her she quickly said, "Ah, not this,um, our talking. Um, I was talking about something else. In fact I'm actually enjoying myself with you. I'd rather it stay like this honestly. With just the two of us I mean..." She slowly trailed off at the end unsure of what she was trying to get at in the first place. Again she sighed. This was getting her no where.
Ren✧
"What the Hades do you mean that guys aren't as smart as girls?" Quillan asked, pointing his finger in the face of one of the huntresses. "I mean what I said. Men are morons." Quillan just shook his head. He had spent most of the party with the huntresses and had not managed to agree with one of them, let alone get in their pants. "Morons? I'm sorry, I'm the reason you are here at all. Maybe I should just said you back to Hell..." The huntresses started laughing, and then it was Atlanta that spoke. "How many times have I told you? The reason I am here is because I beat you in a battle. We are here because men are weak." Quillan's face flushed red. He had never met anyone more infuriating than Atlanta. Her pompous attitude and arrogant belief in her own superiority was really draining Quillan of any patience he had. "You didn't beat me. But if you want me to prove to you that I am stronger, why don't we go right now?" Atlanta stared at the Vanguard, her eyes narrowing. Quillan could tell that he had hit a nerve...or perhaps excited the burly huntress. Either way, they were about to throwdown. Atlanta charged the Grecian Vanguard, her hands outstretched so as to grab Quillan by the neck. Quillan readied himself, prepared to jump high into the air before the huntress could get her meaty hands on him. Before he could do so however, a silver blur shot across the ground, ensnaring Atlanta's feet. The dark skinned warrior stumbled, crashing into Quillan. The two stumbled backwards, about to fall. A second blur of silver streaked towards the pair, as it flew Quillan saw it as a silver arrow. But just as he saw it, the arrow exploded to create a net that pushed the entrapped duo against the wall. "What the f-" Quillan began, but was interrupted when Atlanta's elbow planted itself squarely in his mouth. "What have you done, boy?" She asked, obviously befuddled by what happened. Walking up to the restrained pair, a silver haired woman eyed them with anger and a touch of amusement. "Lady Artemis." Atlanta said, bowing her head as best as she could while she was trapped by the silver net. "Hey, what's going on?" Quillan asked the goddess, his tone of anger and confusion replaced by charm and a dazzling smile. The goddess didn't seem to respond to Quillan's advance, only rolling her eyes at the attempt. "This is a party you two. I will not have anyone fighting here. Is that understood?" Artemis asked, her voice deadly calm. Quillan and Atlanta began to protest, blaming what happened on the other. "Silence!" Artemis ordered, causing the two squabbling children to cease their petty argument. "If I catch either of you fighting again tonight, I will personally sick my wolves on you. And Quillan," The goddess said, turning her gaze to meet the Vanguard's eyes. "If you flirt with my huntresses again, I will make sure that my wolves have a craving for hot dogs when I send them after you." Quillan's eyes grew wide in fear as he nodded in understanding. The Moon Goddess gave one last amused smile at his fear and then disappeared in a puff of gray smoke. The net around Atlanta and Quillan disappeared, dropping them to the floor. "I'm going to go." Quillan said, obviously terrified by Artemis' threat. Atlanta simply nodded, she too afraid of her patron. Meandering through the crowd, Quillan searched for anyone he knew. He spotted Leon and Nailah hopelessly flirting, in what quite possibly may have been the most awkward exchange that Quillan had ever laid eyes upon. He searched for Clair or Beth, but saw neither. He had long since got over his infatuation with Beth, but that didn't mean that he didn't want to have a little fun. He had also not seen Clair since their trip to the Underworld. It appeared that all the females from their team were disappearing one by one.
Kyng's Old Account
Raising his brows with a curious 'o' of a mouth when he heard Nailah's bursting yes, Leon smiled flattered promptly afterwards, her eager response certainly encouraging his advances most prominent to his thought. He smirked to her as she winced and rephrased herself, before himself adding "I like your eagerness, it's very exciting." with a teasing undertone, wondering just how dark he could make that blush go. Nonetheless the pair of them did return to the festivities, and it seemed to be picking up. The arrival of the muses and Aaron indicated that the God of Music himself might join the performance. Who knew? So far the evening was turning out nicely. As they walked in one of the grand temples Leon looked to Nailah as she played it safe by returning his compliments. He felt more so flattered at her appreciation at his skill in battle. It was what he considered his art, and any form of appreciation of it brought a bright smile to his face. More so from Nailah, she seemed like a girl who appreciated the more refined things, like study - finding her appreciate what could be debated as a primal thing surprised him. She even returned a regard on his handsomeness, which made him raise his brows. "I have to say, you really flatter me. I'd never expect such an elegant lady like yourself would ever appreciate my leadership, more so though my prowess in battle. I'm glad it entices you." Leon said, with a teasing wink as he lead her to a caterer.Taking two glasses of win from the platter he offered her one, before raising his brows when she said something was stupid. He was initially confused, but as she went about explaining herself quickly he gradually smirked and listened to each word she said. Raising a flirty brow he asked "Just the two of us, hmm? Sounds quite interesting, I think. Why don't we make that happen then?" He looked back to the crowd gathered at the front of the temple awaiting the performance. "The crowd seems to be getting loud, I think it is ruining the more intimate atmosphere we had going. So, let's go somewhere that's less crowded, more comfortable, hmm?" He smiled softly, before whispering "What do you think?"Aaron, meanwhile, was caught under the attention of Genzai. He gave him a raised brow and his trademark confident smirk, well known to render knees like jelly. "Heh, you know Apollo would hate me simply giving you the lead - I'll play the harmony to your melody, Vanguard, but I'm taking no prisoners. Try take the lead from me, got it?" He gave him a confident smirk, throwing down the gauntlet with a mighty arm. Following such he nodded to the Muses and, as such, they all promptly and in perfect harmony brought about their instruments, synchronized as they took their positions. Aaron stood to Genzai's right, smirking at him as he whispered "Prove me you've got the mettle, huh?" Aaron was going to play like never before. Genzai'd have to do his best to outperform Aaron this time. While Quillan was contemplating over the number of women in their team reducing, a prominent presence would be felt, the exertion of the might wielded by Barak, one of The Heavenly Kings, the division of the top, the best of the best Vanguards. He was Zeus' own, as could be told by his thunderous presence and his towering stature. Looking to Quillan he boomed "You okay? You seem a little bit distracted, concerned even." Following this he offered him a tankard of the Wine Gods' own brew. "Atlanta's a cocky bitch, that's for sure - Zeus put her in her place once, and I'd love the chance to do it again. For now, how about a wee drinking contest, hmm? The music is about to heat up."
Super Chaos Sonic
They were all in agreement, as the Muses, Aaron, and even Benzaiten as well took their positions. "Prove me you've got the mettle, huh?" The Shinto Vanguard smirked, as he took his position as well, as he snapped his fingers twice. Upon this, Zeri and Kame appeared behind them. "See if you can keep up, Vanguard of Apollo." he said with a smirk, bringing his ocarina to his lips. Magi: The Magical Labyrinth - V.I.P Instrumental Upon the beginning melody of Genzai's ocarina, he heard the others begin to follow. He was surprised that these few people were able to catch on each note that he brought forth from his ocarina. The Shinto Vanguard simply turned around and gave a nod at Zeri and Kame, who both smiled. "Alright, let's hope this will impress the masses!" Kame said, as he hid in his shell, as the water poured from it, enveloping his whole self. "Go Zeri!" On it Kame! Zeri said, as he grabbed the shell and then threw it into the air, as it showed slight electrical currents running through the watery defense of Kame's shell. Then, in time with the melody, Zeri moved his tentacles, as everyone began to see the electrical currents begin to move wildly around Kame. Genzai continued to play, hearing the others follow, while he heard Aaron's playing...even better than the previous moment. Truly he a gifted musician...Apollo chose a perfect person for this. However, as he kept playing, he looked up at Kame as a slight smirk was seen. Another snap was heard from his hand, as Tokage appeared from behind Zeri and the musicians. Well now! Best keep this going then! Tokage chuckled, as he wound himself around Kame in a circular fashion. At this moment, Kame also began to use the Tidal Typhoon move he knew, as it began to grow stronger and even higher than it normally would. After this, Kame appeared at the top of the typhoon, letting Tokage grab him. And for the final touch! Zeri chuckled, as he shot a thousand of his invisible needles, at the typhoon. However, this time they had within them electrical currents pulsing through them, making the watery swirling typhoon light up with the electrical needles. And as the melody began to draw to a close, Tokage took his claws and then slashed towards the typhoon. The violent winds that came from the slashes tore the typhoon to pieces, but to everyone's surprise...they began to sparkle and twinkle like small diamonds. Excellent job you three... Genzai thought, as he began to bring the melody to a close.
Hotaru987
After her earlier slip up she took the offered wine, and began sipping on it in hopes of not sticking her foot into her mouth again. "Just the two of us, hmm? Sounds quite interesting, I think. Why don't we make that happen then?" She looked at him wondering if maybe they were both having similar thoughts. It wasn't hard to tell she was flirting, well at least attempting to. From anyone else's perspective she was sure it looked more like a train wreck than anything. Even so, wasn't he reciprocating the banter. That was considered good news. Nailah stole a glance at Leon while he was looking at the performance table. Her compliment from earlier really did him no justice at all. Anyone could see that Leon was more than simply 'ok looking'. He was handsome, well kept and very much so built. The last trait thanks to all the battle training he put in to prepare for the inevitable battles. "The crowd seems to be getting loud," Nailah looked away, realizing she was -as Renae would put it-going gaga over him, now also facing the crowd. That was an understatement. Something must be about to happen. "I think it is ruining the more intimate atmosphere we had going. So, let's go somewhere that's less crowded, more comfortable, hmm?" When Leon smiled, she returned it with her own though there was another accompanying blush. "I was actually thinking the same thing. Great minds think alike, yeah." She playfully nudged him with her elbow, as well as tossing him one of his flirtatious winks. 'There ya go, get back into your stride.' "Do you have a particular place in mind?" She took another sip of her drink. Nailah wished she could say his name, but without her mask she really didn't want to risk it. Well, she doubted anything would happen since he was already in front of her but who knew. Quite randomly she noticed Renae and Crystal talking through a gap in the crowd. The fellow Egyptian vanguards were blushing, though none as brightly as Renae. Her face was completely red, which was hilarious considering the carrot top she was sporting. With how fast her mouth was moving Nailah figured she was finally going for it. Eventually Crystal shyly smiled, and grabbed Renae's hand. The crowd suddenly hid them from view but Nailah could guess what had happened. "Well, at least they found their happy every after."
Kyng's Old Account
Leon smirked as he listened to Nailah's confidence come back, even though she was blushing brilliantly. It actually went to define her face quite beautifully. As such Leon went about and whispered against her lips "Making you blush like that, it's really hot. I'm glad I'm flattering you Nailah, I wouldn't want to send the wrong message across" so sensually, a gentle hiss as he finished his whisper to her to seal the deal. He hadn't noticed her checking him out, but even so after his whisper he let his eyes gaze up and down her figure, from her kissable lips down to her legs that never seemed to end - all this right before her eyes, letting her know exactly what he was doing, and who he had in mind.Following her question he grinned and nodded. "We can go back to our residence in Olympus. Each Vanguard group was given accommodation for this party, and we've got our's. It isn't too far away and is quite remote, I wouldn't expect any sudden interruption." As such Leon offered Nailah his hand, before leading her away from the party, smiling to Quillan in his stride as he enjoyed the festivities as well as being part of them. Of course now Leon had a different thing on his mind, and was determined to get just what he was looking for. The built up envy having turned into attraction, Leon wanted to see just how Nailah worked, as well as show her how he worked.Leon would lead his companion back to their residence, a few other figures having passed by from other temples with other festivities. Soon after entering the room he smiled and lit a few torches with Solar Spears, the lack of sunlight making them weaker, yet potent enough to ignite the tinder in the beautifully crafted ornate torches. The accommodations were very simple, a large hall which served to lead to individual rooms. With the current state of the Spearheads team, they had one of the smaller accommodations, with four rooms, one for each Vanguard, what with Beth and Clair having been pulled from the team by their God's accord. Back to the scenario at hand, Leon would open the door to his room for Nailah as he asked her "Is this room comfortable enough?"Among those who walked past Leon and Nailah was a shrouded individual whom wore a cloak, yet had strange, prominent glowing yellow eyes. He made his way through the various temples, not drawing much attention to himself, as he observed Aaron and Genzai's performance. They were making quite the act, it was most impressive and certainly entertaining. However this individual would promptly make his leave and began to walk his way, all the way to one of the many accommodations for the Vanguards. This one was among the more luxurious accommodations, and without a trace he closed the door behind him, as silent as a snake.Aaron smiled after the performance was finished, looking to the flock who were fawning over him. This was to be expected. Genzai had his own, though it was actually larger than Aaron's. He brushed this off and patted Genzai's shoulder, smirking. "You're pretty good. Next time I won't go so easy on you." He said with a teasing wink as he made his exit, to go kick up some noise elsewhere. His goal of bringing light and life to Genzai's glum state was done, so now he was pretty much free to do whatever he wished. He was happy he cheered up the gloomy faced Spearhead, though. He needed the perking.
Super Chaos Sonic
"I await our next challenge then, Aaron." Genzai smirked, as he looked at his three units. "And to you three...fantastic work. The improv was greatly appreciate." The three Shinto Units simply nodded as they returned to their own world, leaving Genzai alone with the flock that quickly gathered around him. "Thank you. I was glad you all enjoyed the performance given tonight." he said, as he put the ocarina away, smiling as he was asked so many questions...even having a few girls swoon over him. Genzai nervously rubbed the back of his neck, beginning to loose the serious for now, as he smiled. "Well I've been playing for a while now, just something of that magnitude was new for me." he said, as he began to answer question after question. ~*~*~*~*~*~ A few moments passed, as the flock finally dispersed, allowing Genzai to have a slight moment to breath. As he walked away from the festivities once more, he stared at the moon once more. He sighed as he held the teardrop medallion on his necklace. I guess there is no reason for me to feel saddened any more. As it feels...like you are always with me, mother. he thought, as he smiled. X-Ray Dog ~ From the Heart "Excuse me." The Shinto Vanguard turned around, seeing Nike's Vanguard, standing before him with a smile. "Was a magnificent performance, Genzai. I haven't seen Aaron that excited when it comes to music in a very long time." she said. "Thank you, Victoria. To be honest, it was all last minute..." Genzai said, chuckling a bit. He looked at Victoria and smiled, as he motioned for her to come closer. "Victoria, please...come enjoy the night sky with me." Nike's Vanguard smiled slightly, as she made her way towards Genzai's side, as the two of them looked up at the starry night sky, as the stars glittered around the moon. "It is a beautiful night, isn't it." Not as beautiful as you... Genzai thought smiling a bit at the thought of saying it. He wanted to say it, but it sounded too much like a Quillan pick-up line. And that was the last thing he wanted. "Indeed it is." he said, as now both Vanguard's hands began to clasp each others, both smiling a bit. Ren✧
Quillan smiled back at Leon, who was leading Nailah away from the party. He couldn't but feel happy for him, although slightly envious. Here had spent the whole night at a party with no...pleasing encounters. And all thanks to that barbaric woman, Atlanta and her testy patron, Artemis. Although, he had to admit that it had been fun arguing with her and her friends. Having admitted that to himself, he shook the thought from his mind. He hated Atlanta and her huntresses...or did he? Of course he did. There was no use debating it any longer. Stopping by one of the tables that was piled high with food, he grabbed a pastry-like delicacy. Taking a bite he was pleased to find it was filled with a chocolate sauce. Devouring it, he looked about the room. He watched as Genzai exited the stage, swarmed with a bunch of women. Another envious look crossed his gaze. But it quickly dispersed. Knowing Genzai, the poor fool would be too nervous to even touch one of the girls. He watched as the crowd faded away, proving his suspicions. He was about to turn away when he saw a particularly beautiful girl walk up to Genzai. He watched, mouth open, as they walked out together. Shaking his head, Quillan couldn't believe what was happening. He was the only one not getting any action. Turning to look where Leon and Nailah had disappeared to he contemplated joining them. He wasn't much for threesomes with another guy, but would be better than nothing. Of course, neither Leon nor Nailah would be very appreciative of his presence. He was turning again to survey the room when he saw the shadow ghost out of the Spearhead's accommodation hall. Doing a double take, Quillan searched for the shadow again, but he saw nothing. Passing it off as his mind playing tricks on him, Quillan returned to looking for a suitable companion for the night. Unfortunately, Team Quillan would not be scoring that night. Hotaru987
From even such a small kiss, Nailah again found herself at a loss for words. Well it was her first kiss. Or she thinks, since before her vanguard life she pretty much forgot everything as did everyone else. It was during those times when she wondered just what did they all leave behind. Friends, family maybe lovers. All of the memories that made them who they were simply forgotten. However, those thoughts couldn't have been further from her mind. The only thing taking precedence was the single person standing before her, blatantly checking her out. She wanted to come back with some witty comment. Maybe something along the lines of 'Do you like what you see?', but quickly tossed that thought aside. It sounded silly in her head, and no doubt it was sound just as corny if she actually worded it. As Leon offered his hand to lead her to the quarters he earlier reminded her of, she eagerly accepted allowing him to lead the way. Nailah really wasn't paying attention to the walk, as her mind were on other things. More important things, such as what they were about to do. If possible her face grew hotter. She was sure before the night was over she would pass out from heat stroke. Once Nailah came too, she noticed they were already by Leon's room door, which he opened for her asking if this room was comfortable enough. She nodded, smiling, "It's good enough." This time pulling him along she entered the room, closing the door behind them.
Kyng's Old Account
Chapter 6 - Primal InstinctLeon awoke well rested the next morning, as anyone would in his situation. Stretching from the intimate activities of the night before he found himself with a smile, glancing over to and spooning the curvy and voluptuous bare, yet covered body of his ally in arms, Nailah. She felt warm to touch, much like the sands of home, and her silk skin was the catnip to this lion. He smiled to himself as he cuddled into her and kneading her plump buxom as he recalled what could only be described as a dream. He figured he'd have a few more minutes to appreciate her as he gently ran her hair through his fingers. He was genuinely curious where this would take them now, but for the while he figured they'd cross that road when they came to it. With a gentle smooch on her cheek Leon finally rose and sat up, taking a deep breath. He felt different than normal, more relaxed and calmed, likely the burnt testosterone he usually held onto in order to heighten his training proficiency. Whatever the case it was a nice feeling.Give or take a few hours, Leon would eventually have woken Nailah cheekily, before adorning himself again in his gear and resuming the role of the de facto leader of the Spearheads. Glancing to Nailah he smiled and whispered "You were amazing, mind-blowing." to really get the message across. Alas, the time for fun had came to a close - when Leon and Nailah, along with the other Spearheads would leave their quarters, they would once again be Soldiers in this dreadful war. Even so, the festival would surely be a night to remember. It had been a week since that day, and one hell of a busy week. Leon himself felt his frustration already topped back up and was spending as much free time as he could pumping iron, improving his physique all the more. He was adamant on being perfect for this very, very difficult assignment. The week was given for extensive training, for a task had been set by Beth's Patron Deity, Hermes, specifically for the Spearhead group. While nice to see their former comrade, Leon very confident in Quillan's abilities to at the very least get a goodbye smooch, there was no-one Hermes would trust more than this group for these Spec Ops Missions. The mission, though, was without a doubt one of their most difficult yet.The Spearheads Mission was to find and recover the Lost God and the Son of Hermes himself, Pan, from his abode in the wilderness. After the events of the Summoning, the mass gathering of the Vanguards and the beginning of the war, Pan hadn't been seen. Hermes, his father, was naturally worried. Ren✧
Quillan entered the great hall of Olympus, bringing his hand through his hair. Dark bags lined his eyes, an indication that sleep had eluded him for most of the night. Hearing of his summoning to the great hall, Quillan had quickly gotten up to take a shower and booked it over. He noticed that he was the last Vanguard to arrive, as was usual. Quillan wasn't the punctual type. Taking his stand amongst his fellow Spearheads, he groggily waited to be instructed. Three gods sat in their thrones, giving Quillan the death glare as he took his spot amongst his teammates. Zeus was of course present, being the king of the Greek gods he demanded that he be included in any and all mission briefing. Athena sat his side, her grey eyes looking over the group. Her presence reminded Quillan of Clair. The blonde Vanguard was still supposedly in training, but Quillan had a suspicion that it was something more than that. He suspected that she was off somewhere commanding a portion of their armies. The final god present was Hermes. Upon seeing the traveling god, his mind instantly went to Beth. A pang of desire swept through his chest, but discarded the emotion. He had long since gotten over his emotions for the somewhat sadistic girl. "Now that you have all gathered..." Zeus started, the irritation evident in his voice "we can begin the briefing." Hermes rose from his throne. His massive size towered over the Vanguards, making even Quillan feel slightly humbled. He had always hated that about the gods, their need to show their importance through size. It was just down right enraging. "The Spearheads have prove themselves to be quite the formidable group. You have undertaken dangerous missions and gained the support of a number of heroes that has helped us in our fight against Ragnarok. I can assure you, however, that none of your missions have been as challenging as the one you are about to undertake." Quillan raised his eyes in interest. The prospect of a challenging mission intrigued him. After his failure to to utilize his training in the Underworld, and inability to score at the festival the night before, Quillan was feeling quite emasculated. "The Spearheads will be tasked with finding the god of the wild, Pan." Quillan gave the towering god a sceptic look. How hard could it be to find a god? This was not the challenging mission that he had been promised. Noticing the Vanguard's look, Hermes began to explain further. "Since the events of Ragnarok began, Pan hasn't been seen or heard from. Even before the war, my son wasn't a social god. The urbanized world has left him weak, but it isn't like him to leave us without his aid. I want your team to search for him. I have my suspicions as to his whereabouts, but the location is the most wild and unexplored location on the face of the Earth. There is no telling what you may encounter, and once you enter my son's domain, communication with the other gods will prove difficult. In his ailing state, Pan may not be able to recognize friend from foe. That is why I have chosen your team to search for him." Understanding was beginning to dawn on Quillan. The mission was not as cut and dry as he may have thought. Looking to his fellow Vanguards, he looked to see their expressions. It was then that he realized that another member had joined their ranks. A familiar face. Beth! "As you may have noticed, Beth will be joining you on this mission. I trust that you will make us proud." Quillan stood open mouthed at the girl. He definitely was not expecting this. "How will we get to this 'wild location'?" Quillan turned to see that Leon had asked the question. Zeus spoke up this time. "We have arranged a means of transportation with the god of the Southern wind, Notus." Quillan was taken slightly aback, hearing his patron's name. He had said nothing to Quillan about such a matter. "He has agreed to bring you their with his power of the sky, but in exchange he has asked for Quillan to take the lead on this mission." Quillan was left speechless. Him? Lead a mission? A few weeks ago, he would have jumped at the opportunity, but since he had learned a lot, and he knew that he was not the best choice for this. Why not Leon? Or Genzai? Even Nailah would have made a better leader than him. Attempting to keep a cool exterior, Quillan just nodded. "If you have any questions ask now, if not then good luck in the Amazon." [hr] Quillan stumbled about dizzily. The trip had been nearly instantaneous. Zeus had snapped his fingers and Quillan felt himself become as light as air. He remember a large 'wooshing' in his ears and then suddenly he was standing in a small clearing surrounded by tall trees and dense foliage. The air was hot and felt sticky against Quillan's skin. The sound of chattering animals filled the air, and yet none could be seen. "Anyone have any ideas on where to go?"
Super Chaos Sonic
Quillan taking point in this mission was truly a shock to all the Vanguards. Nevertheless, Genzai was a bit proud of Notus' Vanguard to be put in the position he was in. After all, many great warriors and even leaders were born into a position of power when the hour needed them to be. The Shinto had no questions regarding the mission, as he and the other Vanguards were whisked away into the Amazon. [hr] "Anyone have any ideas on where to go?" "Unfortunately I'm unaware of where we should go, Quillan." Genzai said, as he looked around the dense area they arrived in. It was a good thing his scarf was destroyed during his fight with Theseus, as his mother's necklace hung around his neck for everyone to see. "Though, one option does come to mind. Finding a source of water around here. If we can find the main source of the water here, perhaps we might be able to find the son of Hermes." Hotaru987
Just like Leon, Nailah too woke up refreshed and extremely relaxed after the nights activities. She was woken up by one of Leon's cheeky remarks, before almost imediately adorning his armor. She almost wanted to frown since she didn't get the chance to admire his physique when she woke, but she supposed she would just draw from memory and trust that she certainly did. After a quick stretching session she too dressed, and was soon ready to leave with Leon. Before they left, however, Leon made sure to tell her that she was amazing last night which she could only smile too. "You were no slouch either. It was *mu-thier." As the word left her lips she smirked. She wondered where this would take them, but didn't ask figuring this was something that time would play out. Though it had to end eventually, and soon the two were back in warrior mode. The earlier calm atmosphere would surly be missed, but it couldn't be helped and both knew that. Within the next week, Nailah, just like the rest committed herself to training as she was told of their next mission would be quickly approaching. However, instead of training on her own she sought out the help of her friends and newly turned couple Renae and Crystal. Of course Nailah didn't miss the chance of teasing the two before finally getting to her request. They both agreed and Nailah started one of the most hardest training she ever had. It was right up there with Thoth when he was serious about training her. With Renae who was skilled in hand-to-hand preferring to get up and personal with her attackers, Nailah fought. It wasn't easy. Nailah was no amature when it came to close quarters fighting, but up against Renae it wasn't much of a fight. When it came to Crystal, Nailah would practice her Words of Thoth. Crystal was the perfect partner when it came to this type of training as she was the Patron of Ma'at who was essentially the female version of Thoth, thus Crystal had some of the same abilities. Even though there was a vast difference between the two, and Crystal was clearly stronger and more proficient with her abilities, even able to counter and nullify some of Nailah's words. Don't even get Nailah started on that damn feather Crystal was given. Either way, Nailah felt confident that she would be ready by time the mission began. What was wasn't ready for, was the sudden return of Beth - the patron of Hermes who gave them their mission - and was less prepared for Quillian being put as leader of the mission. Even so she trusted in the God's decision, as well as Quillian's own ability to take charge of the quest. He was a great ally, and Nailah felt that he needed this more than the rest of them. Though he seemed better during the festival, she knew that somewhere he was probably still bothered by the battle with Nidhogg. She knew he wouldn't let them down. Suddenly the group was knee deep in Jungle territory thanks to Zeus. "That's the way to travel." Nailah laughed behind her mask. It was hot, which didn't bother Nailah. She was use to the heat, but the humid air was another story. Now that was never good for a female's hair. The question on where to go came up; Quillian having answered. Genzai offered that they find a source of water and follow that to a possible location to Pan. It made sense. If he was hiding out somewhere then he would need to be near a place with water right. "Alright, this is the perfect time for some good'ol fashion women intuition." Nailah spoke up tossing her hand in the air as if she was a student raising her hand for a question. "Let's go...." She waited for a while before pointing towards the right, "That way. Right is the only right way!" Just as a warning, before this Nailah had been reading a strange book that listed all of the best and worst puns created. Have fun guys...
Kyng's Old Account
Leon was indeed taken by the new lead in this operation. However he left his reservations to the Gods' in faith with their decision. If anything, maybe taking the role off of Leon's shoulders would be just what he needed. A break from leading would be a nice opportunity for him to evaluate his own combat prowess with more precision and less distraction. Not only that, but what with Quillan's funk, maybe this change of pace might be able to shake him out of it. At least, Leon hoped as much. He didn't enjoy seeing him down in the dumps, he was the living spirit of the team. Maybe he'd have to boost his morale at some point.Finding themselves in the great wilderness of the Amazon, Leon took a deep breath as he listened to Quillan's question. It was a good one, they were more or less stranded. Almost to the beat, Genzai suggested the very survivalist idea of finding and following a stream of water, much anticipated of the Vanguard of the Water Dragon, Ryujin. It brought memories back to Ao Kuang and the likes. Leon then thought for a moment, taking time to contemplate what should be the best motion to make. The Amazon's waters were vicious, even he knew this. Albeit mortal creatures, that did not rule out the viciousness of an alligator or the like.If it wasn't for the fact that he had bedded Nailah and hoped to do so again, Leon would probably have scolded her for that pun. Something like 'How about I pun-ch you in the face for that?' Rather, he smiled weakly to her idea, dying a little on the inside He thought to himself 'If we only go right, we'll literally be going in circles...!' but he figured Nailah wasn't literally suggesting they only go right - the environment they were in demanded a serious tactic to this mission, he knew Nailah wouldn't go against that.Leon looked to Quillan with a smile and nodded. "Women's intuition is the best we've got right now, huh? Lead the way, Quillan." as he summoned forth his Assegai, arming himself just in case. Ren✧
Quillan readily agreed with Genzai and Nailah's ideas. There was no sure way to know which way to go, so a shot in the dark was better than anything. Taking the lead in the jungle, Quillan sifted his way through the ocean of green. Branches and leaves whipped at his face, scratching him more than a few times. Quillan nearly jumped in fright as a snake slithered across his path, but contained his outburst so as to not alarm the others. Unsheathing his tanto, Quillan hacked through ferns and underbrush, desperately trying to make a path. There is water up ahead. Vex said to Quillan. He nodded, he had sent the storm spirit on ahead to scout the area. He didn't want to think about what could lie in wait in the Amazon. "Do you know where we are going?" Quillan looked back to see who had asked the question. Beth. She followed directly behind him, no more than a few feet from Quillan. She wore the same mischievous smile that always accompanied her wherever she went. Her two snakes slithered about her shoulders and neck, intertwining themselves and then becoming separated once more. "As a matter of fact," Quillan started smugly "I do. There should be some water up ahead." No sooner had he said that, then the group came to a crystal clear pond of water. The smug smile widened on his lips. "See?" [hr] From the cover of the brush, two eyes watched the group of Vanguards as they clumsily made their way through the forest. He cringed each time the lead man brought his short blade down on one of the unsuspecting plants, ending its life before it had a chance to grow. He growled in anger. These meddlers were obviously enemies of the jungle. Enemies of the wild. Enemies of his lord. They were to be extinguished. Letting out a primal roar, the man was hidden in the brush retreated farther into the jungle. The human folk would not get a chance to destroy the wild. He would make sure of that. His roar echoed across the jungle, silencing the beasts that heard it. It traveled far and wide until it came into contact with the ears that were meant to heard. In the darkness of a hidden cave, to large yellow eyes snapped open. Eyes that had not opened in centuries. A deep squeal resonated from the creatures mouth, followed by powerful grunts as it raised itself from its kneeling position. Stepping out of the cave and into the sunlight, a massive hog-like creature sniffed the air. Its large tusks glinted dangerously in the harsh sunlight and its hooves pawed the ground anxiously. The scent of trespassers hung heavily in the air. With a loud squeal, the beast took off through the jungle, trampling trees and shrubs under its massive hooves. The Calydonian Boar had been awakened. [hr] "I guess you do know where you are going." Beth said lightly, offering Quillan a slightly flirtatious smile. Quillan was caught off guard by her advance, and it showed obviously on his face. Seeing his expression, Beth laughed and upon hearing her, her snakes, Sykes and Vecks, joined in with their raspy, hissing giggles. "Sssssuch an amusssing boy." "I find him tedioussssss." Quillan wasn't quite sure how to respond to that, so returned his attention to the pond. "Well here's the source of water, but I don't see Pan any-" Quillan was interrupted as a massive figured burst into the small clearing. Crashing through the trees and right into the water, a small wave rushed towards the group. Reacting quickly, Quillan slammed his fists together and a spherical cyclone of wind whipped around the Spearheads, causing the water to fall to either side. "Holy sh*t!" Quillan cried in surprise, looking at the monster that had emptied the lake with a single splash. Standing before the group was a massive boar. Its sides heaved heavily as it caught its breath from its rampaging run. Its eyes swiveled around, looking at each Vanguard in turn with a look of rage. A squeal of anger erupted from the boar before it charged the group. Leaping out of the way, Quillan hurled himself to safety, sure of the fact that the others would do the same. "Atlanta told me she killed that thing!"
Super Chaos Sonic
"Atlanta told me she killed that thing!" Naruto Shippuden: Movie 5 Blood Prison ~ Gold-Brocaded Mask Genzai jumped to his right, as he unsheathed Mizu Kiba, as he watched the boar carefully. "Perhaps she might've been lying. Then again, stranger things have occurred with our small group." he said, as he watched the boar's movements. The Calydonian Boar...he remembered hearing that it was sent by Artemis to ravage a specific region because its king failed in the rites to the gods. However, Theseus also mentioned that it was most likely the offspring of the Crommyonian Sow, which he vanquished. Though how he beat the Sow, he couldn't remember exactly. "Quillan, have everyone prepare to attack! I'm going to slow it down!" Genzai said, as he moved forward. "Ryujin Kenbu...3rd Form! AME NO GOON!!" he said, as he placed his free hand on the blade, as it began to glow with a blue aura. He swiftly stabbed it into the ground, as the dragon's roar shot straight at the boar. Now they were on the clock: thirteen seconds were on. "Quillan! Give the command to attack now!"
Ren✧
Quillan tried to recall everything he knew about the boar. Surprisingly, it was one of the myths he had actually learned...thanks to Atlanta. Quillan remembered that she claimed to kill the beast, despite whatever the myths, and especially men, say. He remembered that a number of warriors died hunting the beast and that it took a large group of heroes to even wound it. Quillan watched as Genzai sprung into action, thrusting his sword into the ground and calling upon the powers of Ryujin. "Quillan, have everyone prepare to attack! I'm going to slow it down!" Quillan nodded, knowing that there was no room for hesitation. They would each be able to get in one solid attack, although he feared that it would not be enough to kill the massive boar. "Leon, we are going to need you to pierce that hide. Nailah, keep the pressure on so that when Genzai's attack lets up he has a chance to get out of the line of fire. Beth, offers some long distance damage." Quillan shouted the orders in quick succession. "Quillan! Give the command to attack now!" Knowing that his teammates would know what to do, Quillan leapt into action. Springing high into the air, he was caught by Vex, who had been circling the scene waiting for an order. It's been awhile since I saw you mess things up in combat. The nostalgia is overwhelming. The Grecian Vanguard ignored his steed's comment, knowing that there would not be time to argue. Taking a deep breath, the temperature around Quillan began to rise. Seeming to punch the air, the Vanguard sent streaks of super heated air at the boar below. The nearly invisible attacks seared the fur upon contact, some even burning through it and revealing the skin. He watched as the Calydonian Boar's eyes grew in rage and pain, it body began to tremble. Genzai wouldn't be able to hold it much longer. [hr] In a flash, Beth grabbed ahold of the two snakes around her neck and lashed out with them, grabbing onto a nearby tree so as to avoid the rampaging boar. Crouching on the branch, she listened as Quillan issued orders. She watched as the goofy kid she had met in Bilfrost took on a composure that must have been so alien to him. His plan made sense. Quillan and herself would be able to deal the most damage from far away, which also put them in position to help the others should danger arise. Following the temporary leader of the Spearheads into battle, she released a storm of sharp needles. She didn't expect them to do much damage, only angering the beast, but their poisonous tips would definitely be a further distraction to the boar. Leaping out of the tree, Beth began to run circle around the boar, using Vecks and Sykes as whips. Blood began to ooze from the boar, some of it splashing on her white sweatshirt. "And I just had this cleaned." She whispered, although it was obvious in her tone that she didn't mind the blood. "It'sssss sssssoooo nicccce to be in the field again." "I've been needing a good sssstretch."
Kyng's Old Account
Leon was quite grateful for the shield of wind Quillan provided, but above all else was shocked that something could empty an entire Amazonian lake with a single splash. Whatever they were fighting must've been a heavy thing to do such a feat. Leon's eyes glimmered with hunger for the challenge, that confident sheen in the edge of his iris burning with excite - he was definitely a War God's Vanguard to yield such passion for fighting, but above all else he wanted to see just what they'd be fighting against, and when the winds cleared, the Calydonian Boar came into Leon's line of sight - he was pretty content he mustered out his Assegai, it might be hefty enough to contend with this brute's hide.Leaping out of the range from the hog's rampaging rush, Leon dragged across the dirt with he smirk, looking to Genzai as he made use of his technique well regarded for slowing down foes - hopefully they'd get just the time that they needed, but the technique hadn't let them down quite yet. The hope burning on his back, Leon felt the intense heat of the sun, and taking this opportunity to quickly remove his top, he exposed his Tattoo to the sunlight's harsh, unforgiving rays, causing him to heat up and promptly improve his powers. Of course it'd also give Nailah that chance to get a look at his physique, but I think she'd be busy on the boar.Quillan gave the command, one perfect for Leon's abilities: use a spear to penetrate skin. Really, it seemed all to easy. Leon laughed and spoke out to the others "This little runt won't last long - we crushed Ao Kuang, and scales are tougher than skin. Let's make this quick, guys!" with his intense burning Morale Heku coming into effect, emanating an aura of confidence to his allies. Quillan looked a little startled, he might need the boost. Leon couldn't tell from Nailah, yet. Quillan seem level-headed, but even the slightest self-confidence could force out inner potential in any individual. Leon figured this'd be a good idea to use.Promptly, Leon made use of his Burning Soul ability, his Assegai igniting with blazing heat. Quillan's hot winds worked wonders, exposing skin against the tough fur and hide of the boar, but Leon was confident that direct sunlight would sear past the boar's defences. This warm up was followed by Leon lobbing a Sun Spear, the concentrated beams of light, at the exposed spot, aiming with his renown accuracy to tenderise the spot, just in case. He didn't want to take any reckless risks now, would he? Though in hindsight, his unit might've been useful here, Leon didn't want to bother them with the worry of this tank-like beast. With a powerful, booming battle-cry, Leon held his blazing Assegai and, with thunderous force, threw the spear straight for the boar. Solid matter would pierce the skin even better than his beams of light that were Sun Spears, and with the intense heat of the Amazonian environment and his now exposed Tattoo, Leon was adamant on skewering the boar. Hopefully the spear wouldn't miss, would pierce that hide, and would make this even easier on his allies. Leon was very confident, though, knowing that if his spear wouldn't do it, Quillan would only turn up the heat on the boar - that, along with painful steam when combined with Genzai's Water, and the almighty magic Nailah wields, Leon felt they had this in the bag, and did his best to express this morale to his allies. Super Chaos Sonic
Genzai moved from how he stood, after preforming Ame no Goon. The thirteen seconds were slowly ticking away, he watched Beth and Quillan take action first. After that he watched Leon prepare his Assegai, finally launching straight at the boar. If it actually hit the boar, it was make it easier for the Shinto Vanguard to piggy back off the Egyptian's strike, using his attacks of water. Though there is the chance that the spear won't hit... Genzai thought as he assessed the situation. Right there, he had it. He rushed towards the boar and caught its attention. He needed to keep the boar in and on target with the Assegai, afterwords he would deal the strike with Ame no Tanto. "That's it...keep your eyes on me...you demonic swine." he said, with a faint smirk, as he glanced at the Assegai overhead, hoping that the boar would remain where he stood long enough for the Assegai to strike him. Hotaru987
The group slowly began to make their way through the dense trees, with Quillian at the head cutting through the brush that obscured their path. Eventually the group came upon a clearing with a sizable lake. Though the calm didn't last for long as something charged from the forest, landing right into the pond and causing a large wave to come crashing towards the group. Luckily, Quillian shielded them all thanks to his wind defense. There before them, was a large boar who's dark eyes turned to each vanguard with a look of pure rage and anger. Nailah was slightly put off by the animal's rage. Just what did they do to evoke it? They only just got here. Without warning the Boar charged at them, and Nailah leaped to the side landing a safe distance away. "Looks like someone needs a hog." She chuckled to herself, just as Quillian shouted about having believed Atlanta killed it. Though there wasn't any time to dwell on the what they thought had happened, because right now the Calydonian Boar was right in front of them. Genzai wasted no time getting into the battle, actually being the first to make an attack. As Genzai made the first move, Quillian shouted out his orders. For Nailah it was to keep the heat on the boar and help Genzai. "Sure thing. Hey guys, at least we won't be boar-d." Everyone was already at work, even Beth who used her two snakes as dangerous whips as she ran around the boar. She removed her mask and prepared for her first Word, but she was momentarily distracted by Leon who removed his shirt. Shaking her head she mumbled, "Stay focused." Leon made his strike towards the Boar, tossing his spear which gave Nailah an idea. "Tum Turu." The hieroglyphs form, shooting for Leon's spear and from her word the speed of it's descent increased hopefully making the boar's flesh easier to penetrate. Deciding to further help the spear stay on target, as well as Genzai keep the beast still her second word left her lips, "Boar, Takhuthuru." Ren✧
The effects of Genzai's attacks were beginning to wear off. The boar began to move about, thrashing around a bit, trying to smash the small human beings that ran about. Its eyes closed in on Beth and with a terrifying squeal it charged the Grecian Vanguard. Preparing to leap from the branch that she sat perched, Beth waited for the moment when the boar would be just close enough to leap over. With her attention otherwise engaged, she did notice the weak structural integrity of the branch. Pressing down, about to leap, Beth heard a loud crack just before she began to fall. She flail about with her whips, desperately trying to get a hold. But it seemed to be in vain. Continuing to plummet towards earth, Beth's eyes grew wide as she saw the rampaging monster. There was no way she was going to be getting out of this one. She closed her eyes tight, not wanting to see what was coming. Then, she suddenly felt weightless. There was no pain, no crushing of bone, no tearing of flesh. Her first thought was that she was dead. Now at peace, going to wherever the dead go. It wasn't until she had opened her eyes did she realize the truth. Beneath her swirled a powerful storm cloud crackling with energy. On closer inspection, she realized that it was one of Quillan's units. A storm spirit. Vex, if memory served. "I guess I owe you one." The Calydonian Boar turned catching sight of one of the humans, sprinting across the clearing. With a second powerful squeal, the boar began to sluggishly move towards the sprinting figure. The effects of Genzai's poison was beginning to fully wear off and its speed was picking back up. It appeared as if the Spearheads had been too slow, and now they were going to pay the price in blood. A flash of metal caught the boar's eyes, swiveling around in its socket, the yellow eye saw the spear rocketing towards it. A memory ran across its eyes. The memory of a tall warrior standing above it. The spear coming down. The pain. The blood. The darkness. He would not be going back to that. Turning, it positioned itself to deflect the spear with one of its powerful tusks, but as it did so a powerful sounds struck the air. "Takhuthuru." The boar slowed. No longer were its movements quick and filled with anger, now it was as if the Boar was caught in jello, slowly shifting through the resistant substance. Unable to move, the boar was hit with the powerful spear. Its hit sent the boar careening backwards into the treeline, reducing several tall trees to splinters. A squeal of pain escaped its lips as its eye rushed about in its socket, bloodshot with pain and terror. The spear had hit, but it seemed as if the boar's suffering was not yet over. The human being that it had planned to crush was continuing its sprint, but this time towards the fallen beast. Genzai slashed about in the air, water forming around him with each slash until he became a blur of rushing of blue. The Shinto Vanguard collided with the fallen form of the Calydonian Boar, and with it an eruption of rain poured down on the injured creature. Cuts and wounds now covered the massive pig. The creature was no doubt down for the count. Blood seeped from its wounds, slowly collecting in the body of the basin that once held a small lake. Despite its incapacitated nature, the monster was still obviously alive, if but barely. From his view about the ground, Quillan watched the scene unfold as he gently floated down towards the ground. He had sent Vex to protect Beth, and the storm spirit had done well, but it had left Quillan nearly helpless in the sky as he slowly descended. Seeing that the boar was suffering, a sense of pity came over him. Sure the beast had tried to kill him as well as his friends, but there was no need for it to suffer. Willing the wind at his back to strengthen, he began to rocket towards its fallen form. Modifying one of his tactics, Quillan essentially turned into a javelin of air. But, before he could land the killing blow, an intense golden light began to radiate from the fallen monster. The light grew brighter and hotter. Quillan had to turn away, calling off his attack and landing on the jungle ground. When the light finally did fade away, the massive body of the boar had disappeared. "What the Hades?!" Quillan stared at the blood stained spot of the earth where the monster had been, mouth hanging wide open. "That was so cool!" Beth said, skipping over to where Quillan stood. Sykes and Vecks seemed to have retreated within her white hoodie. "Is everyone okay?" Quillan asked, looking to each of the Spearheads in turn. The fight had been fast and less dangerous than their conflict with Ao Kung, but that didn't mean some unforeseen circumstance hadn't caused some sort of injury in their team. After getting a general confirmation that everyone was more or less okay, a smile appeared on his face. "Well, nice work guys! Couldn't have gone much better. Except," Quillan turned to face Nailah, his face getting incredibly dark "you need to watch your mouth." There was silence between the members, only interrupted by the chattering of the jungle around them. "I'm supposed to be the punny one here." Kyng's Old Account
One needn't imagine the thrill Leon got for nailing the throw. Nailah's magical words enchanting the flaming spear all but made its flight all the more sweeter, so much more smooth in its flight. It was a pretty good shot after all, I mean it ain't every day you get a blazing hot sun in a jungle environment which could very well risk setting the forest ablaze if not for the humidity - speaking of which, said humidity had Leon wiping his brow for sweat which, for the ladies out there, glazed his chiselled chest like a clear, shiny oil accentuating the actual, robust edges to each and every inch of him. The air had excited Leon, this was evident from face value of the warrior. You didn't need to be a genius to figure out how this'd spark a fire in his belly. As Leon walked into the devastation the spear rendered to the trees thanks to the additional weight of the boar, he pondered with a frown about the disappearance of the boar, with a trademark smirk on his face, using his shirt to dab him down. After a deep breath, he chuckled as he came back to Earth, listening to Quillan go on about asserting dominance in terms of the puns. "Guys, I'm serious, crack much more of those, and when I'm taking charge again, I'll be sure to punish the pair of you." Giving them a teasing glare with a slightly nerving vibe of sincerity, he looked back to the scar in the wilderness with a contemplative frown. "Quillan, let's try not to celebrate to soon, hm?" Leon suggested. "That boar got away..." Following he gave a fierce, predator's snarl at the sight, "...my kill..." Of course, maybe spending too much time with lions might make people a little crazy, but the heat was a wee bit unbearable. 'Returning' to his sanity, he looked back to the team. "But we still have a job to do. Each second we spend idle is a second given to Ragnarok."
