Need help with Gemini Cards.

Bad-People

Question

I'm an old-school player who's just getting back into it. I've done some reading on Gemini cards but I don't get it. It just says something about them being normal card until they are gemini summoned but not much on what that is or how to do it. Somebody's going to have to explain it to me. What are they? How do they work?

While you have a face-up Gemini Monster, you can "waste" your Normal Summon of that turn to have the monster gain its effects. So, it takes 2 turns to make Gemini Monsters useful: 1 turn to put them on the field, and 1 turn to have them gain the effects. This huge cost usually ends up with very powerful effects without backdraws.

OBS: The "waste" of your Normal Summon is called "Gemini Summon", and you cannot Normal Summon this turn (except if you used "Double Summon").

There's such a thing as Google, maybe you have heard of it? Your question has pretty much been answered, but something important is that Gemini Monsters are only Normal Monsters when on the Field or in the Graveyard, meaning you cannot use something like Rescue Rabbit on them, and they're always considered an Effect Monster when in your hand or Deck or if it's Banished. Remember that if your Gemini Monster is removed from the field, they are no longer Gemini Summoned, even if you return them later with something like Call of the Haunted, then you would still need to re-Gemini Summon them.

Also, some important facts about Gemini Summoning:

1. A Gemini Summon is still considered a Normal Summon, so any player can activate cards that respond to Normal Summons.

2. Any equip cards (Equip Spells or other cards that Equip) will not lose their target when you Gemini Summon, so don't fear that!

3. Any conditions that has been put on the card by another card will not be lost, such as Swing of Memories destroying the monster at the End Phase.

4. They won't lose Counters put on them.
