Help with Fruity Loops

Cloister

Question

So, I have a little problem. Well, not problem, but a wondering.

In the "Playlist" where you "put together" your song, you see a light gray line that shows you where you are in the song. (The one that goes vertically.)

If I have an instument in the piano roll, this time just 1 note, is there any way I can place that in the Playlist according to how far into the song I am?

Example:

I have made a beat, and put that into the Playlist.

I have a high-hat that I want to use in the song.

I play the song in the Playlist.

As the song goes on, the grey line moves.

Is there a button that allows you to place an instument on the currently selected Pattern according to where that grey line is?

Hopefully this is understandable... And if not, I will explain so that you hopefully understand...

Thanks beforehand.

You can't just 'add' instruments/VSTs to the playlist. For example, if you wanted HiHats only in a certain part of the song, you will have to make a separate pattern for just the HiHats, then paint that pattern onto the part(s) where you want it to play.

OR you could clone the pattern with the beat in it, and add the HiHats to that one.

You can add loops and samples to the playlist directly tho, so if you have like a WAV loop of your hats, for starters you can just drag-drop it from your folder into the playlist, then manually adjust the tempo if required.

Good luck.

(Also I'm like 30% sure this is the wrong section for this kind of question)

That's not what I meant.

I meant when you play the song in Fl o hear what i t sounds like, when you're in the Playlist, you see the grey line going down covering all the Layers or whatever they're called. And that moves...

So if that grey line is at like 5 seconds, is there any way I can place a Pattern in the Playlist where that line is?
