If I may inject my own opinion on the matter.

Now I haven't been keeping enough of an eye on the story since a while after the second suspect's capture on Friday, but I must admit, I feel a bit of sympathy towards the younger brother.

As far as I could tell from the information that was gathered, it was almost as if he was dragged along by his older brother. Maybe some sort of family duty or something stupid like that. Something about being roped into it by family ties, peer pressure, etc.

Everything seemed to have been the brother's ideas and whether he was an extremist or not, I think he's more to blame for the bombing. Ironic, as he's the one who died.

Now, I'm not saying that I don't think the younger brother should be given any leeway in his sentencing, but I do feel like writing a book along the lines of In Cold Blood on this boy. I'm not sure why, I just think it'd make an interesting story.

First these two will be linked back to some Chechnya-based terrorist group, then Ichkeria'll get its ass Predator droned or some such into the Stone Age for iPhone and Wii minerals. #Amurikafuckyeah

Only the older brother has been linked in any way to Chechnya, and he wasn't radicalized to attack the US solely based on what he learned there.

He developed his own opinion here. Anyway, it'll be the Russians that do anything to Chechnya, not the US.

I doubt anything really comes out of this negatively foreign policy-wise for anyone.

Suspect could face the death penalty for charges of using a weapon of mass destruction. Although I wonder how the trial's going to be complicated by him getting shot in the throat.

Also, I too doubt this will complicate Russo-American policy that much. Any reaction would be on Russia's behalf: the US has so far has acknowledged these two were radicals and not tied to any one movement.
