Just watched the first twelve episodes~ I'd type down my thoughts and how amazing it is, but I'm a little tired right now so...

ANYWAY, I really hope that Jaeger can successfully carry that boulder and complete the mission. The show's really succeeded at projecting a feeling of hopelessness against the giants, and I really wish the humans would just get their first victory already. Not that I didn't predict the mission failing though. In a show like this, anyone can die, and archetypes aren't going to protect you.

I want a real-life 3d Manuever Gear. It could probably allow for parkour at its greatest in any city, or even nature like rainforests and the such... It would be an amazing experience.

But then again, it would be extremely easy to get a serious injury. Lose your delicate balance for just a second and you're dead by your own wires. One malfunction in the machinery and you're dead in the middle of the air. One miss or unfirm hit from those grappling hook things and you're left for dead to crash heavily into the ground. Even just sliding improperly while diving towards the ground and you could break your legs. Not to mention the property damage it would cause to tons and tons of buildings from its grappling hooks...and it also requires quick reaction timing to move from one place to another as well......

*sigh* I guess things like that are just a far-off dream.

Alright, can I just point out a few things with Titan-Eren's eyes? In his first appearance, when he had the intention of killing the Titans, he had very human eyes that looked just like Eren's --mostly white with the green/blue irises. In episode 12, when he was more rabid, his eyes were mostly black with glowing, lime-green irises and no pupil. At the end of episode 12, when Titan-Eren started to get back up, his eyes were still glowing lime-green. Do 'ya think that they're gonna stay that way to signify a stronger form or do you think that they'll change back to the human-like appearance --if he even adopts his human intentions again in the first place. Also, has anyone noticed that Titan-Eren never actually blinks because he has that creepy 2nd eye-lid that some bugs and animals have?

The anchor and gas aren't strong enough to support a human body ;_; ...Though it does work a pretty good starting point~

Certainly, the anchor would have to be the first thing worked on. For a practical 3D Manuever Gear, the swords and cardboard boxes would have to be thrown out first, and the anchor-pistols placed within the hands to allow for greater flexibility over mobility, since the streets of normal cities aren't as narrow as they used to be in medieval ages (usually). Then the anchors would have to be treated like 'bullets' so they can reach their destination within time before the user hits the ground hard...may have to take some information from real-life grappling guns for that. To dislodge quickly, the hooks should have a slight amount of robotics that allows them to rotate their claws upward and thus push out the hook. Maybe it should be made of titanium, although something like silica nanotubes would be more preferable.

Then there's the gas. Highly-compressed hydrogen could do the job, but it might be easier to turn to current jetpack technologies...well, so far, the area is rather difficult, but the aim here isn't sustained flight - it's simply propelling, to be able to properly utilize the grappling guns correctly, or even simply act as a minor stabilizer while parading like Spiderman in the air. Maybe a microjet? I can't figure this one out. Hm...
Whoah! Dat was intense! So finally Titan Eren successfully plugged the hole on the gate with that rock. OST was really great and dat Levi scene <3
The first 3 min rehash was an obvious attempt at wasting time which is weird, considering next episode is a recap.

The anime only Jean moment is nice, especially his encounter with dead Marco. All in all it was a good episode, but falls short, imo, when compared to the others.
I must ask why there isn't a .gif of Eren lifting the boulder yet. That was a truly climactic scene. I had goosebumps the entire time.

Although, the body count scene where ash is falling down like snow... kind of a sensitive theme, isn't it? I mean, how many people are related to victims of the Holocaust that watch it?

And I approve Levi taking Eren under his wing. It's about time he was brought into the big picture.

YES! Titan Eren did it! I knew he could do it! Also, two Titans were successfully captured, which could prove to be pretty useful for the upcoming future. I wonder what we'll learn from them?

Although, the heavy casualties make it hard to celebrate. Then again, this is a war story, so it's only natural. And Titan vomit? Titan vomit is horrible. No thank you. Poor Sarah. Poor Jean too.

Next episode looks like it's going to be a recap. Jeez, like we don't already dedicate 1/10th of each episode to recap the past events?

To give them some credit, they made an announcement on Episode 14 being a recap a couple of weeks ago to give us a heads-up.

I'm really curious to see what Linked Horizon's doing for the 2nd opening.
Yes! They won!

And that Titan vomit's seriously nasty...

I want to know what Marco's deal was. I thought his face looked like that because all of the blood drained out of him, but the lady with Jean said they wanted to avert another disaster, so did he...die from a disease or something? That feels hokey to even type, but I don't know how to explain what the woman was talking about.

Anyways, it should be interesting to see Eren traveling with the Survey Corps. Levi's character is something I'm especially looking forward to getting to know in this upcoming arc.

I'm betting Mikasa will join them at some point too, and Armin will probably do something impressive in front of Pixiv and get a promotion.
So now we wait for two weeks...not sure I can take it.

EDIT:

Wait a second.
The military knew about the basement.

And that it's where the mystery behind the Titans is.

Maybe Titan Eren actually was a military experiment .-.
Not sure what was so nasty about that Titan vomit. At first I thought it was an egg sac which is how they reproduce, but when I heard it was their vomit, I was more confused than disturbed.
Watch other anime while you wait?

tl;dr

Because Pixis is based on Yoshifuru Akiyama who killed a lot of Chinese and (South?) Koreans they (random people) want to kill the creator. So awkward.

Oh no, he based a character off of a general who killed a lot of people. Nothing's going to come of this, it's nothing but some asshole who's only even opening his mouth because he's anonymous. You gotta have a filter for these things and my filter tells me that this is crap.
seriously
I was just thinking about this after reading the article: the big furry titan. isn't he extremely intelligent? And hasn't he shown the highest mental planning abilities of any titan so far? I know one of the popular ideas is that it's Erens dad as a titan, but wouldn't Pixis fit the green titans persona far better than anybody we've seen so far? this article made me think about it., basing a popular general on a controversial historical figure, and then having them turn out evil, wouldn't it make a twisted kind of sense. rereading all of his character interactions and rewatching them animated i'm starting to think he's not the most trustworthy person out there. but that's just my opinion.

Episode 13 was just amazing. The scene from where (highlight white to reveal): Eren picked up the boulder to everyone realizing they had finally scored a victory against the Titans was just breathtakingly awesome, and it is the best scene within the entire series so far, IMO.

EDIT: Best 5 minutes and 44 seconds:
