Darth Revan of the Sith
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsieadPPvJE

2/5 Stars This is about as good as it gets when you make a movie based on a board game. The acting is so atrocious. I mean really bad. Taylor Kitsch can't seem to get his role in check and Rihanna just can't show emotion at the proper time, although to be fair it is her first time. Alexander Skarsgard looks like he is made of stone when he yells and Brooklyn Decker is just eye candy, nothing more, nothing less. (And she ain't even that hot to top it off). However I must give props to Liam Neeson, who astoundingly pulls off his role as the father of Samantha and Alex's commanding officer. Although he is barely in the movie, he puts focus into his character and really expresses his anger in pressuring situations. The scenes go by way too fast sometimes. The plot just falls apart under God knows what, I mean sh*t, we barely have an idea of what the f*ck the aliens want or are doing here. They don't even explain why the Aliens seem to ignore humans sometimes for no reason. Many action scenes are well choreographed however and I especially like the Battleship themed action scene that was honestly performed beautifully. I especially love the scene in which the Old Navy Sailors join up with the fresh meat to take on the aliens in an age old boat. Spectacular if you ask me and it puts an emotional feel into the connection between the two factions. I noticed that pretty much throughout the whole movie, it is heavily emphasized that Japan and America are closely working together. I liked this cultural connection and I thought it was pretty good but I just wonder why they picked them out of all the countries at the games. The CGI is gorgeous and when I say gorgeous I mean gorgeous! Say what you want about Hasbro movies but you can't deny they really kick ass when it comes to CGI. One of the things I actually liked about the movie was its comedy. In fact I would go so far as to rename the genre of this movie to Action-Comedy, a lot of the things happening here are comedic in places and a lot of it is actually funny. Something Transformers failed to do, a lot of times. The movie is basically a fan servicing, action flick, with some good comedy. However, the comedy, Liam Neeson, and the CGI just can't hold this movie together when it comes to plot, acting, and just plain originality, which it doesn't have. This movie kinda sucks, so I have also heard, but hey. At least it is better than Transformers.
