Combined with the fact that she is anemic Ice suffers from clinical depression, and shows a very hopeless attitude about things. Ice avoids conflict like the plague, and will try to defuse it if she can, as an avid promoter of pacifism.  Ice wears her heart on her sleeve and cannot, no matter how hard she tries, hide her emotions from others. She also always seems to have a worried look about her, and is extremely jumpy hating be surprised or surprises. She also has problems making contact with people, and will jump away at the touch of others, even going so far as to avoid eye contact with people.  Ice also has a habit of apologizing for everything, even when they aren’t her fault, which has the tendency to annoy some people

 

Despite her outward appearance of hopelessness and depression Ice has a lot of love inside of her. She seeks anyone who will listen to her, and for someone to accept her for who she is, not what she is. She has never had many people to confide, and any she has she lost, and wants to have someone she can count on and trust. Despite wanting friends and being caring Ice will not go out of her way to interact or help people. Even when others interact with her she’ll steer away from them, but due to her generally off putting appearance not many people interact with her anyway.

 

Ice interacts better with her Pokemon better than she actually interacts with people, and whenever she alone with her Pokemon all her fears and awkwardness seem to evaporate. Since she has been with Roserade her entire life not only has it become her most powerful Pokemon, but her best friend and is who Ice goes to with her problems. Roserade serves as a big sister sort of figure to Ice, providing her with the confidence she is lacking. Ice dislikes using Cresselia in battle due to the fact that she believes it gives her and unfair advantage, and will only use her against other legendary Pokemon. Cresselia and Ice also seem to have a very close relationship the legendary Pokemon protecting her as much as she protects it.

 

Ice does her best to bring out the beauty in her Pokemon, and has them ‘show-off’ during battle. Though she would much rather participate in contests, but has somehow gotten sucked into the world of Pokemon battles.  To Ice each battle is a performance, and she seeks to produce something pleasing to the people around her instead of showing off her Pokemon’s power. During battles Ice prefers to use long range attacks to prevent damage to her Pokemon, while using support to supplement them. Ice likes to get battles over quickly, and tries to end things with one or two moves, but never takes risks during battle preferring to play a defensive and safe game. She always thinks battles through, and never rushes recklessly into battles, but is slow to recover if things deviate from her plan. Due to her anemia Ice often becomes fatigued, or in extreme cases, will pass out after a battle.

 

Appearance: Ice’s skin tone is barely a shade darker than that of someone with albinism, which is due to the fact she stays inside a lot due to her agoraphobia. Ice is small for her age standing at only 5’1” and weighing in at about 121 lbs. with a C-cups size. Ice has a small from, which combined with her pale skin makes her look somewhat like a doll, and a slender and shapely figure. Her manicured hands are petite, and are constantly shaking along with the rest of her body. Ice always seems to keep her hands hugged around her stomach or waist as if she is afraid someone is going to grab her. Her facial features like the rest of her body are very petite, and angular.  Ice’s eyes are a deep violet, and seem to be constantly depressed and sad looking. Her eyes are fairly large, and have long exaggerated. Ice’s ice blue hair falls like a wave down to her hips, with her long bangs covering some of her right eye. Ice seems to use her hair as a cloak and when talking to people will use it to hide her face.

 

Ice has a general gothic appearance having black eyeliner, and quite a few piercings, and seems to be generally fond of jewelry. Ice has a single cross earing, which hangs off her left ear, and a butterfly wing cuff on the top half of her ear. On her right ear Ice has three studs, which are red, blue, and yellow. She also has a small stud piercing on her nose, and a belly ring. Ice wears a blue-black ribbed sweater, which has detached sleeves that she keeps up using gold arm bracelets. She also wears loose fitting, faded jeans which have an embroidered white pattern on the sides. To complete her outfit Ice wears a pair of sapphire blue hightop sneakers, which keeps loosely laced at the top.

Along with three other children she raised by Elias at Rocket Base Omega until the age of 8 when Elias became more of a task master than a father figure.  From this age Ice was put through excruciating experiments, some of which nearly caused her death. As it turned out Ice had a special gene only present in a few humans, which allows them to access psychic powers. Another very common gene though represses this gene, which means even fewer people are able to actually access this psychic power even if it is present in their body. Elias knew this, and manipulated their genes to allow them access to their psychic powers, unfortunately this caused the hair and eye colors of the children to shift unnaturally.  Ice’s powers developed as the ability to speak to both people and Pokemon with her mind, as well as sooth agitated Pokemon.    

 

The doctor would place children in several different tasks according to their abilities, and though they would change every day the doctor had a few favorites, which he liked using. Frequently Ice would have to lie on her back over a tank of water suspended by ropes, and have to use her powers to calm the Carvanha, which bit her back, he would have newly hatched Cubones claw at them, Loudred and Explode scream into microphones, or his personal favorite have Ice fight Kangaskhan, Aggron, or Tyrannitar. At the age of 15 though she and the other children had a chance to escape having, to a certain degree, mastered their powers. A Dragonite had been nesting around the lab for a while, and the children decided to reach out to it using their powers into influencing it to attack the lab. It worked, and Rocket Base Omega was destroyed. From there, presuming Elias dead, the children went their separate ways to start their new lives.

 

Ice from their enrolled into the Pokemon Academy, and had what she would call the best years of her life there. At the Academy she eventually fell in love with her roommate Areo, willing to open herself to him. He had been the one person who had taken her fears away, and convinced her that everything would be alright. At the Academy Ice met a Ralts and Venonat, which would later become her Gardevoir and Venomoth. After graduating Ice and Areo went their separate ways to accomplish their dreams, but not before promising that they would meet again at the Academy Gates.  From their Ice went on to accomplish her dream, and became a Top Coordinator. Unfortunately she would never get to see Areo, because soon after she won Elias kidnapped her outside the Grand Festival Hall.

 

At a new lab Ice was brainwashed into becoming a more vicious version of herself again becoming Shaela Elias. Using his newly obedient psychic commanders Elias had them capture Celebi planning to use it to travel back in time to make himself a world ruler. Thankfully while trying to influence their own might upon it Celebi  used its own psychic power to break the brainwashing, and together the kids defeated Elias and destroyed his new lab, but the resulting explosion did not kill him, but placed him in time stasis until very recently. Due to Elias brainwashing she has also forgotten Areo, but remembers what they shared, and would have a memory lapse and remember him should they ever meet again.

 

About the same time Elias was reawakened Ice met Cresselia, who asked Ice to protect from the Team Purity members hunting her. Ice having a soft spot in her heart for Pokemon agreed. Having made it through the preliminary round due to Cresselia coaching her and keeping her calm Ice know proceeds to the knock-out round of the tournament.

Due to Cresselia’s power, and her own genetic altering Ice has the ability to speak to people and Pokemon alike telepathically, and can sooth agitated or injured Pokemon. She can only do this with Pokemon that are close to her though. [/spoiler]

Hmm...maybe. I am hesitant to give away characters to people that didn't create them because there just isn't a way to bridge the gap that is created from the unfamiliarity with the characters and all the hidden schemes the original creators may have had in mind. I think the RP was doomed to fail when I took too long to introduce any action. :(

Personality: Terra likes to try and focus her mind on the happy thoughts, because sad thoughts are bad for her defective heart. In fact, sad feelings cause Terra's heart to decelerate slowly, but surely, and to a point where it won't beat quickly enough to provide blood to her vital organs; meaning they shut down and she dies. Plus it beats slowly enough as it is; the resting pace of Terra's heart is 28 beats per minute, and no matter what she does, even if she pushes herself to the limit of her stamina, she can never get it to beat more than 35. Because of this, Terra is often regarded as some sort of athlete, but while she does her best to keep fit, she remains adamant that she's not that fit. However, there's one thing that sets Terra's heart decelerating even more than sadness; her cyrophobia. The mere sight of a snowstorm or a glacier or whatever is enough for Terra to become paralyzed with fear, and as such, she refuses to capture Ice-type Pokemon or teach her Pokemon Ice-type moves. However, Terra tends to specialize in Ground-type or Rock-type Pokemon, and is especially fond of her Rhyperior. This strikes people as odd considering Rhyperior isn't a girl's type of Pokemon, but Terra has always been tomboyish in nature... after all she was raised by only her father.
Appearance: At the moment, Terra stands at around 5' 6", and has a solid medium build. Judging by the six-pack abs and the rather thick thighs, one can tell that Terra works out regularly. Her long, [acronym='NOT silver, the lying bastards at Safebooru...']dark honeydew[/acronym] hair is tied into a ponytail at the back by a thin hair-tie. While outdoors, Terra can often be seen wearing hiking boots on her feet, but although she takes them off outside, she often ends up walking in bare feet while inside any building, even in public places such as PokeMarts or PokeCenters. Fine hairs can be seen on Terra's arms and legs, but they're so fine that they're hardly noticeable.

Bio: Bringing Terra Montana into this world was the last thing her mother could do, before she had lost her life and hour later due to a defective heart. Unfortunately, Terra was born with the same problem, and her father had no choice but to leave her at the hospital to take care of for the first five years of her life; the better for her safety. While she was there though, Terra learnt a great deal about her family history; she even found out the genesis of her defective heart. It turned out that Terra's mother had inherited it from her own mother, who received it from her father before her, and then his father before him. The average life span of the four was only approximately 30 years of age, which had deeply worried Terra, to the point where her heart was starting to decelerate greatly. Thankfully, the doctors had quickly found Terra and managed to help her recover before things got serious. Terra was 4 years old at the time, and she was released from the hospital to be with her father the next year.

 

One day, at the age of 7, Terra was playing outside on a ranch where her father worked when all of a sudden, a wild Diglett had popped up from out of nowhere. Terra decided that it was cute, and wanted to play a little game of whack-a-mole with it, chasing it around with a toy mallet. That was the start of Terra's bond with the wild Diglett, which had since become so strong that when it came around to her 10th birthday, she insisted that same Diglett be her initial partner. Her father argued that she should do what most trainers did and go to the nearest lab to get her first Pokemon, but was quick to lose the debate. And so, Terra ventured the world with her Diglett... after a training lesson from her father of course. He didn't want her to get into trouble without knowing how to battle. Instead, unfortunately, Terra somehow managed to get into trouble before she could even captured a Pokemon with her very first Pokeball. 'Twas a very bad day indeed.

 

A cave that was home to many Diglett and Dugtrio was being breached by a Team Purity Commander with a Gyarados, and Terra's Diglett wanted to defend its brethren, and thus engaged the Gyarados all on its own. Of course, the Commander was expecting Terrakion to come to defend, but thinking the Diglett to be a breeze. But it wasn't. Instead, the battle ended up being a David and Goliath type of battle. Eventually Gyarados had the upper hand due to natural type advantage, but it and its trainer were so absorbed into the battle that they both failed to see a late arriving Terrakion coming, resulting in it KOing the Gyarados in one fell swap. Not having any additional Pokemon at the time, the Commander retreated back to base, and Terra, amazed with the Cavern Pokemon's sheer strength, wanted to capture it. Terrakion however, convinced that she wasn't strong enough as a trainer, declined the challenge and left, but not before giving Terra a low-down on the situation.

 

Five years had passed since Terra's first sighting of the Rock-type Musketeer. She'd grown much stronger as a trainer, and had captured a Baltoy, a Gible, a Gligar, a Larvitar, a female Nidoran, a Rhyhorn, a Sandile and a Shellos, and evolved them all into their fully evolved forms. But there was still no sign of Terrakion. Of course, Terra had realized that it would come to the defence of Pokemon that had lost their homes, but it wasn't in her to terrorize a Pokemon colony like the Commander did. However, speaking of which, Terrakion was being attacked by the same Commander as last time, but this time the guy had brought some Grunts with him. This time, it was Terra's turn to be the hero, sending out Garchomp and Tyranitar to overthrow all the Grunts and Commander, before nursing Terrakion back to health. As a token of gratitude, Terrakion had chosen Terra to be its guardian. However, Terra still had to fight the Cavern Pokemon, and used Rhyperior as her battling Pokemon. Rhyperior managed to burn Terrakion through spamming Fire Punch, and Terra was quick to throw an Ultra Ball at it. The first attempt failed, with Terrakion just managing to break free on the third shake, but the next Ultra Ball managed a perfect capture. Five years Terra had been waiting, and at that moment, the Rock-type Musketeer was finally in her hands.

Terra's Krookodile is pretty much the same as Ash's; it wears sunglasses, and will stop to retrieve them in the event that they get knocked off, even in the midst of battle.

 

Garchomp appears to be Terra's strongest Pokemon, besides Terrakion of course. It is also the only female in Terra's team beside Nidoqueen and Dugtrio.

Yay, finally another person in this modern age of YCM RPing who does 'Always Accepting'~ Anyway, I only came because Liselotte asked me to, but this RP does seem to have potential. Certainly, Team Purity's goal is unique.

Personality: Areo is a quiet individual, but this is mostly because he tends to be conservative about his words and actions, and he can be surprisingly talkative to people sometimes. While he's incredibly smart and tends to be calculative at times, overcomplicated thinking gives him a headache, which is why he prefers to take things straightforwardly, encouraging people to never give up with their dreams.

 

He is a determined and loyal individual, unable to stand cruelty - especially when it comes to Pokemon - and can be overprotective at times. He's a relaxed individual, even when battling, but becomes more and more serious each time his Pokemon are hurt, slowly abandoning his tactics for raw power. Because of this, one could say he really doesn't like to lose, but has learned to accept things as they are.

 

He cares a lot about his Pokemon, and due to this, attempts minimizes damage to them as much as possible. For this reason, during battles he mostly focuses upon speed and dodging, using tons of hit-and-run tactics. As a result of years of constant training in speed, the majority of his Pokemon have achieved remarkably great speeds, and he can go through entire battles without any harm done. Somewhere along the line, he learned to have his Pokemon 'show off' during battles, such as doing a Gust spin while dodging, to such an extent that some wonder why he didn't decide to become a Coordinator instead.

 

Appearance: Areo stands at 5' 8", and has a slim figure, yet toned. He has somewhat tan skin, smooth red hair, dark-green eyes, and while his face looks cute and young, it has that undeniable look of experience. He wears an outfit that he based on the former dark-grey Moon Dorm uniform, with silver trims, a long coattail, and strangely enough, with a hoodie as well. Faster than the average human, his body is light and his feet capable of keeping up even with a Pokemon., and his Pokeballs - stylized black and white - weigh almost nothing at all.

 

Bio: Born in Goldenrod City to a rich family that had moved from Hoenn, Areo grew up to be a spoiled and selfish brat, never thinking of anyone else yet always dreaming to be the very best, the most powerful Pokemon Trainer. Though raised with a high education, he was simple-minded and always thought of the world as straightforward, and that everything was lower than him. But none of the others noticed that he was spoiled on the inside, and always thought of his desire to 'become the very best' as sweet. How wrong they were.

 

When he was finally of age and got his first Pokemon, a Taillow, he wasn't satisfied with it but decided that he should use it to catch a more powerful Pokemon. Now a trainer, he ventured into the mountains where - rumors told - a powerful firebreathing Pokemon slumbered... Encountering the wild Charizard, he fearlessly engaged it, forcing his Taillow against its limits into battle. The battle lasted for less than half a minute as Charizard played around with the brave little bird, before finally crippling it with a Fire Fang. Then it mocked Areo as he threw a Pokeball at it in anger (it missed!), and flew off.

Needless to say, the poor bird was fatally wounded.  It had all of its former dark-colored feathers burnt off and its bones had been snapped by that Charizard’s Fire Fang. It had lost a lot of blood as well, some having been lost from the flames and the rest drained away in the aftermath of the battle, while it floated near-lifeless upon a lake. But most of all, it had caused too much of a strain on itself, having torn apart its own muscle tissues to dodge the dangerous Flamethrowers thrown at it. Retrieving Taillow, he ran back to the nearest Pokemon Center.

 

From there, things just went downhill. A lot of Areo’s friends left him due to his absolutely stupid, reckless choice of daring to challenge a Charizard, as well as the way his Pokemon had ended up. His Gym case was taken from him as punishment, thereby preventing him from ever attempting to challenge a Gym, and in turn the Pokemon League as well. It was a miracle that Taillow had managed to hold onto that thin thread of 'life' after that highly-powered Fire Fang, and even then, there had been side-effects resulting from the aftermath of the curb-stomped battle. Due to the injuries caused by the wild dragon, it was estimated that Areo's Taillow would be incapable of evolving into a Swellow for potentially years longer than any ordinary Taillow. He was warned that if he ever forced Taillow into a battle again, he would most likely be stripped of his Trainer Card, as well as his last chance at becoming a Pokemon Trainer.

The Taillow spent four months in a specialized Pokemon Center, and Areo slowly had all of this information drilled into him as the days passed by, the poor teen slowly starting to realize that Pokemon were actually living beings and that they feel pain, and that they can also potentially die. Slowly but surely, the swallow bird began to recover. The fourteen-year-old trainer spent his days being constantly scolded and criticized by passersby, though the amount of times thinned out as the weeks passed. Now that he knew the consequences, the former jerk seriously and constantly worried about Taillow’s health. If he were a sane trainer, he would’ve stuck to living with his Taillow, never participating in another Pokemon battle ever again, let alone the Pokemon League, and merely spending all his days alone with the one sole happiness to hold onto being that his precious Taillow had survived.

 

But Taillow wanted otherwise. When it was finally released from the Pokemon Center and back into Areo’s ownership, it was trying to say something, and it took him a while to realize that what it was trying to say was 'hey, let's try again.'

 

With new hope, Areo began to focus over the next few years on working Taillow's speed, so it could avoid taking any more damage while inflicting its own at the same time. Over the course of time, he caught a Hoothoot and Pidgey, and later made the decision to enroll into the Pokemon Academy. There, he met a strange girl called Ice, and though she was odd in some ways, they become closer and she even revealed her shocking past to him. Over time, he fell in love with her. After graduating, Ice and Areo went their separate ways to accomplish their dreams, but not before promising that they would meet again at the Academy Gates...despite this, he never did see her again.

 

Going on to obtain both an Eevee and Sneevil while meeting even more people and working on speed, the time had finally come to challenge Charizard once again.

 

Travelling back to the mountains, he encountered the dragon again, in the exact same spot even though years had passed. And so Taillow engaged it once again in a one-on-one battle, but this time they were ready. Charizard was also ready this time, and took the battle more seriously. The resulting battle was epic and drawn out over several hours, with Taillow tiring out the dragon little by little as it tried its best to keep up with the bird. Then, Charizard had managed to catch up to and corner Taillow in the air, but just as it was about to deliver one final Fire Fang, Taillow suddenly evolved into Swellow and gained a boost in both speed and energy. From there, it easily defeated the exhausted Charizard. Triumphant, Areo used the same Pokeball he had used all those years ago, and...caught it. His life dream, a success.

 

While Charizard can be strange at times, it has accepted Areo's victory. From there, he has gone on to even greater challenges.

 

But despite his happiness, he's been having really strange nightmares lately. Some of them are about Ice, some of them about his Pokemon, while some of them are about the very shaken world itself. Whatever they're about, he hasn't had a good night's sleep in a while. Disregarding it, he decided to enter the Tournament of Legends. He managed to get through the preliminary round without too much difficulty, and now he can proceed to go on to the next stage...

Despite insisting on such a military appearance, he betrays a rather relaxed and laidback attitude most of the time. He procrastinates on most of his work, leaving it up to Aya - his Second in command - to complete all the paper work and such, and often appears to irritate the hard-working people amongst Team Purity. He spends a majority of his time drunk, or at least acting like it - he seems to be incredibly tolerant to the effects of alcohol, and can turn on and off the drunken attitude like a lightswitch - and attempts to be quite a womanizer while acting drunk, flirting with almost any woman he comes across.

This womanizing attitude is commonly aimed at his fellow Major, Moira Van Shroder (though he seems to always be given a cold shoulder), and shows that he is one of the few people not fearful or deterred by her stoic and indifferent personality, just as he is confident of the fact he is one of the few people she wouldn't be able to 'read'. Mainly because he knows that no-one could read him, even he himself struggles at times. Why? Because he's pretty much insane. And admits it. He is an unpredictable gamble, unreadable and uncontrollable. As he hides himself under his disguise of a lazy drunkard, it is hard to distinguish what exactly goes on in his mind; even his reasons for joining Purity aren't completely understood, as he claims it was merely for the fun of it.

He hides quite an intuitive intelligence, holding a rather uniquely deductive mind, with which he can gather a rather comprehensive story about a person from some of the smallest facts or impressions about them; telling quite a bit of their past merely from 5 minutes interaction. He also holds an incredibly large collection of books, on subjects ranging from Legendary pokémon and Cosmic Phenomenon to the diet of a Yanma or the difference between types of pebbles, giving him quite an extensive knowledge on multiple subjects.

Adding to the multitude of talents he seems to have, his military training makes him an incredibly valuable asset, for his tactition mind and his physical talents, such as incredible endurance and fighting prowess make him rather useful in multiple situations. And he has passed much of this talent down to his pokémon and subordinates, putting both through a rather rigorous training regime that not only can turn people into killing machines, but has also inspired incredible loyalty from his subjects, despite his external appearance and attitude.

His battle style fits his personality, in that it's extremely unpredictable. Often the most random attacks will be used, and yet will have some detrimental effect on the opponent. He has no set strategies, and can go from a brute force barrage of attacks to a stalling & strategic battle in seconds. His military background allows him to realise strategies that might be missed by others, and means he can make the most of any situation or moveset.

Richard stands at a mildly tall 6'2", and supports himself with an exceedingly muscular & sturdy, yet lithe and agile build. He generally dons rather military-like apparel, and requires the same uniform from most of his subordinates. This generally just consists of rather suit-like attire, with various weapon holsters on his own (up to the wearer's discretion for his subordinates) and two emblems; one for Team Purity on the chest and one for their Purity Ranking on the left shoulder.
Underneath this suit - or if he is in a more casual/undercover situation - he wears a much more practical attire consisting of a black tank top and cargo pants, and a belt holding 8 pokéballs, showing his disregard for the law. He will often occasionally wear a simple, light brown cap as well, specifically in bright sunshine so as to shade his eye; he covers the empty eye socket on his left with a black eyepatch (see pic) [/spoiler]

Bio: Richard was practically adopted into the recently formed Totus military at the age of 11, suffering from severe Amnesia which left him only able to remember his name, age and how to function(i.e speak, etc). He was discovered by a small group of soldiers in the north, searching for any remnants of the criminal teams of old, and after discovering his amnesia, they quickly took him in. That, and the promise that he had shown. As if instinctively, when approached, he somehow managed to disarm 3 of the 6 soldiers in the group, coming to a stalemate with the other 3, extremely well trained soldiers. Seeing his potential, they took him back to their main base, where he spent the next 13 years training, becoming part of the 'best of the best' category that every military seems to have.

 

However, while he was extremely talented, reliable and fearsome - one of very few people to claim a 100% success rate - he was a major wild card in the military rankings. Fearing his unpredictability and killer instinct, close tabs were constantly kept on him, and he was rather limited in his rankings, with the 'higher ups' not wanting to give him too much power. Not that he argued - a lower position left him with more fieldwork.

 

But their worries were rightly placed; he just couldn't be contained, and one day he found himself rather 'bored' and merely sent himself on a killing spree. He managed to pretty much level a camp of nearly 1000 men with only his trusted Blastoise to aid him, leading him to be wanted rather heavily by the military.

 

Luckily for him (or the military; whoever you doubt the most), he was being watched during his massacre. While on the run, he was approached by Team Purity, who had no qualms about his psychopathic nature, and sincerely prized his killer tendencies. Needing some protection, and seeing them as a way to keep him from boredom, he quickly joined, progressing rapidly through the ranks to become one of the top commanders, aged only 26. Despite his high position, he still does a lot of fieldwork, prefering the action over the paperwork; a field that a majority of his subordinates seem to specialise in, luckily enough.

 

He has been asked multiple times for his reasons behind joining, or why he wants to destroy the legendaries, but has never bothered to give a straight answer. Most hear 'for the fun of it' or 'to have something to do', though some claim he has said that he just doesn't like the idea of something stronger than himself, and wishes to crush any belief of that. Possibly the closest answer to the truth has only been heard by a few people (Aya and Eon being two of them), in the few moments he is actually serious and acts sane: He wants to know who he is, and where he came from, and the Legendaries may just be able to answer that for him.

He seems to have no specific targets, but does seem to be searching more for 'true' legendaries; the ones who head their respective group. Suspecting an accumulation of the legendaries at this 'tournament of legends', he has assigned himself to it, along with his second in command Aya to accompany him.

Now a trainer, he ventured into the mountains where - rumors told - a powerful firebreathing Pokemon slumbered... Encountering the wild Charizard, he fearlessly engaged it, forcing his Taillow against its limits into battle. The battle lasted for less than half a minute as Charizard played around with the brave little bird, before finally crippling it with a Fire Fang. Then it mocked Areo as he threw a Pokeball at it in anger (it missed!), and flew off.

Needless to say, the poor bird was fatally wounded.  It had all of its former dark-colored feathers burnt off and its bones had been snapped by that Charizard’s Fire Fang. It had lost a lot of blood as well, some having been lost from the flames and the rest drained away in the aftermath of the battle, while it floated near-lifeless upon a lake. But most of all, it had caused too much of a strain on itself, having torn apart its own muscle tissues to dodge the dangerous Flamethrowers thrown at it. Retrieving Taillow, he ran back to the nearest Pokemon Center.

 

From there, things just went downhill. A lot of Areo’s friends left him due to his absolutely stupid, reckless choice of daring to challenge a Charizard, as well as the way his Pokemon had ended up. His Gym case was taken from him as punishment, thereby preventing him from ever attempting to challenge a Gym, and in turn the Pokemon League as well. It was a miracle that Taillow had managed to hold onto that thin thread of 'life' after that highly-powered Fire Fang, and even then, there had been side-effects resulting from the aftermath of the curb-stomped battle. Due to the injuries caused by the wild dragon, it was estimated that Areo's Taillow would be incapable of evolving into a Swellow for potentially years longer than any ordinary Taillow. He was warned that if he ever forced Taillow into a battle again, he would most likely be stripped of his Trainer Card, as well as his last chance at becoming a Pokemon Trainer.

The Taillow spent four months in a specialized Pokemon Center, and Areo slowly had all of this information drilled into him as the days passed by, the poor teen slowly starting to realize that Pokemon were actually living beings and that they feel pain, and that they can also potentially die. Slowly but surely, the swallow bird began to recover. The fourteen-year-old trainer spent his days being constantly scolded and criticized by passersby, though the amount of times thinned out as the weeks passed. Now that he knew the consequences, the former jerk seriously and constantly worried about Taillow’s health. If he were a sane trainer, he would’ve stuck to living with his Taillow, never participating in another Pokemon battle ever again, let alone the Pokemon League, and merely spending all his days alone with the one sole happiness to hold onto being that his precious Taillow had survived.

 

But Taillow wanted otherwise. When it was finally released from the Pokemon Center and back into Areo’s ownership, it was trying to say something, and it took him a while to realize that what it was trying to say was 'hey, let's try again.'

 

With new hope, Areo began to focus over the next few years on working Taillow's speed, so it could avoid taking any more damage while inflicting its own at the same time. Over the course of time, he caught a Hoothoot and Pidgey, and later made the decision to enroll into the Pokemon Academy. There, he met a strange girl called Ice, and though she was odd in some ways, they become closer and she even revealed her shocking past to him. Over time, he fell in love with her. After graduating, Ice and Areo went their separate ways to accomplish their dreams, but not before promising that they would meet again at the Academy Gates...despite this, he never did see her again.

 

Going on to obtain both an Eevee and Sneevil while meeting even more people and working on speed, the time had finally come to challenge Charizard once again.

 

Travelling back to the mountains, he encountered the dragon again, in the exact same spot even though years had passed. And so Taillow engaged it once again in a one-on-one battle, but this time they were ready. Charizard was also ready this time, and took the battle more seriously. The resulting battle was epic and drawn out over several hours, with Taillow tiring out the dragon little by little as it tried its best to keep up with the bird. Then, Charizard had managed to catch up to and corner Taillow in the air, but just as it was about to deliver one final Fire Fang, Taillow suddenly evolved into Swellow and gained a boost in both speed and energy. From there, it easily defeated the exhausted Charizard. Triumphant, Areo used the same Pokeball he had used all those years ago, and...caught it. His life dream, a success.

 

While Charizard can be strange at times, it has accepted Areo's victory. From there, he has gone on to even greater challenges.

 

But despite his happiness, he's been having really strange nightmares lately. Some of them are about Ice, some of them about his Pokemon, while some of them are about the very shaken world itself. Whatever they're about, he hasn't had a good night's sleep in a while. Disregarding it, he decided to enter the Tournament of Legends. He managed to get through the preliminary round without too much difficulty, and now he can proceed to go on to the next stage...

Personality: Richard is, at first glance, a rather militant person, fitting the position of leader by appearance alone. He appears as if he would be a rather strict person, enforcing marching and the like, or calling out orders and commanding respect from everyone he controls. And yet, he is anything but. Despite insisting on such a military appearance, he betrays a rather relaxed and laidback attitude most of the time. He procrastinates on most of his work, leaving it up to Aya - his Second in command - to complete all the paper work and such, and often appears to irritate the hard-working people amongst Team Purity. He spends a majority of his time drunk, or at least acting like it - he seems to be incredibly tolerant to the effects of alcohol, and can turn on and off the drunken attitude like a lightswitch - and attempts to be quite a womanizer while acting drunk, flirting with almost any woman he comes across.

This womanizing attitude is commonly aimed at his fellow Major, Moira Van Shroder (though he seems to always be given a cold shoulder), and shows that he is one of the few people not fearful or deterred by her stoic and indifferent personality, just as he is confident of the fact he is one of the few people she wouldn't be able to 'read'. Mainly because he knows that no-one could read him, even he himself struggles at times. Why? Because he's pretty much insane. And admits it. He is an unpredictable gamble, unreadable and uncontrollable. As he hides himself under his disguise of a lazy drunkard, it is hard to distinguish what exactly goes on in his mind; even his reasons for joining Purity aren't completely understood, as he claims it was merely for the fun of it.

He hides quite an intuitive intelligence, holding a rather uniquely deductive mind, with which he can gather a rather comprehensive story about a person from some of the smallest facts or impressions about them; telling quite a bit of their past merely from 5 minutes interaction. He also holds an incredibly large collection of books, on subjects ranging from Legendary pokémon and Cosmic Phenomenon to the diet of a Yanma or the difference between types of pebbles, giving him quite an extensive knowledge on multiple subjects.

Adding to the multitude of talents he seems to have, his military training makes him an incredibly valuable asset, for his tactition mind and his physical talents, such as incredible endurance and fighting prowess make him rather useful in multiple situations. And he has passed much of this talent down to his pokémon and subordinates, putting both through a rather rigorous training regime that not only can turn people into killing machines, but has also inspired incredible loyalty from his subjects, despite his external appearance and attitude.

His battle style fits his personality, in that it's extremely unpredictable. Often the most random attacks will be used, and yet will have some detrimental effect on the opponent. He has no set strategies, and can go from a brute force barrage of attacks to a stalling & strategic battle in seconds. His military background allows him to realise strategies that might be missed by others, and means he can make the most of any situation or moveset.

Richard stands at a mildly tall 6'2", and supports himself with an exceedingly muscular & sturdy, yet lithe and agile build. He generally dons rather military-like apparel, and requires the same uniform from most of his subordinates. This generally just consists of rather suit-like attire, with various weapon holsters on his own (up to the wearer's discretion for his subordinates) and two emblems; one for Team Purity on the chest and one for their Purity Ranking on the left shoulder.
Underneath this suit - or if he is in a more casual/undercover situation - he wears a much more practical attire consisting of a black tank top and cargo pants, and a belt holding 8 pokéballs, showing his disregard for the law. He will often occasionally wear a simple, light brown cap as well, specifically in bright sunshine so as to shade his eye; he covers the empty eye socket on his left with a black eyepatch (see pic) [/spoiler]

The main problem with this was that his actions could also be considered dangerous especially as he tried to make his own smoke bombs to mess around with, this is because his parents were scientists and these actions had gotten him kicked out on health & safety grounds but Steve vowed to get revenge. After analyzing his behaviour by watching his ninja shows with him, his parents sent him to drama school.

At drama school, his instructors tried hard to train them to be seasoned actors by having them to get to know the characteristics of different people. He initially didn't enjoy it at first still being bitter about being expelled, but he learned to enjoy it again and after a few long years he graduated and his instructors thought that he'd become a successful actor.

What they didn't know was that Steve was planning to use the skills that he learned at drama school for evil as he got the chance to go on a bank heist with some older lads who saw him loafing around. As the police converged onto the scene to arrest the lads, Steve had delved into his pockets and got out a smoke bomb and escaped from the police's grasp. Having turned to a life of crime, he felt that he was going nowhere and so he ventured off to join a criminal syndicate which was Team Purity, bent on revenge for the double crossings that he has experienced in his life.

He started off in the R&D to further develop the technology for his smoke bombs so that he can get them perfect and when he thought he had gotten the consistency right he returned to use the skills that he learned at drama school and went undercover for an assignment to capture Celebi. Ultimately he was not successful as along with the Bridge Bike Thugs (which he was acting undercover with), he was defeated at the battle in Ilex Forest and he failed to obtain Celebi for Team Purity. Since then he has been more determined to complete his tasks for Team Purity and although he is after any legendary, he secretly considers Celebi his main target.

Personality:
Although on first glance he looks to be a kind guy and able to make friends easily, Alex can come off as a hothead and argues with anyone who disagrees with his opinion even if their opinions are feasible. Being an avid sportsman, he has the tendency of getting become extremely competitive which is normal for a sportsman in his opinion, however his competitiveness in pokemon battles can also be his downfall as sometimes it clouds his overall judgment and he loses due to becoming reckless. Also there are no lengths that Alex will go to protect his own pokemon as he jumped off a cliff to save his Torchic. Alex also likes the characteristics of dark-type pokemon as on first glance they can be all nice and forgiving but they have a totally different side much like himself.

Bio:
Alex was born in Lilycove city, now situated near the mountains of south-western Totus. His mother was a former top coordinator and his father was a former top trainer and they constantly argued as to what path that Alex should take and Alex did not like this one bit and it was his parents constant bickering that Alex got an argumentative streak about him.

When Alex was old enough to become a pokemon trainer his parents had reached a comprimise and told him to go for whatever he wants as his grandparents had convinced them that it was the childs' decision to go for what he wanted not theirs. After a few days of travelling and camping on the hills, Alex received a Torchic from Professor Sycamore in Littleroot town and Alex's journey truly began.

Although his journey had been filled with ups and downs, he still loved every minute of it even when he had to risk his life to save his pokemon like he did his Torchic when it unwillingly walked off a cliff thinking it was a ledge, and even though every trainers' journey is different, their goals are more or less the same much like a snowflake. His journey to become a top trainer like his father had led him to a flyer for the Tournament of Legends and he jumped at the chance to compete in the nearest qualifiers and after a few close calls, he was successful and qualified for the main tournament at Arachnum Island and so he headed there on top of his Hydreigon.
