Darth Revan of the Sith

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSX2oxLdcWA

0/5 This movie is utter sh*t and John M. Chu should go back to directing Step Up movies. When GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra came out, I must say that I was quite a fan of it. It was directed by Stephen Sommers and employed good acting and direction. Later on however, the torch of a sequel was passed to John M. Chu and almost the entire cast was recasted. Duke's character was wasted, roadblock became The RoadRock, and Bruce Willis just... I don't even know. This movie had potential and it wasted it. I knew it was a bad idea to recast this movie from the minute I heard it. Instead of the personal stories that the characters shared and displayed, most of the characters became gimmicks and cookie cutter versions that you would probably see in the original cartoon. Instead of a personal story of redemption and forgiveness like the first story, the second movie kept it about 'MURRICA! and squandered its plot over being more faithful to the source material. Action scenes sucked. There were way too many cuts that took place in between action scenes. Scenes themselves were rushed to hell and everything went along too fast. The movie was overtly short and it lacked the depth of the previous movie. The following sentences contain spoilers, you have been warned. WHY DID YOU KILL OFF DUKE IN THE VERY BEGINNING!? Duke was the main character of the first movie, his role should have been as F*CKING main character. You heavily advertised his part in the movie in trailers and yet when I saw the movie HE DIED IN THE F*CKING BEGINNING! SERIOUSLY! WHAT THE F*CK!? No more spoilers beyond this point. Although The Rock and Bruce Willis are very good actors respectively. They were given horrible roles and it did not help the movie. My consensus? This is the worst movie I have ever seen. Worse than The Room, worse than Birdemic: Shock and Terror, worse than Plan 9 From Outer Space. Why you ask? At least those plots were original, at least they had low budgets and could barely do anything as it was, at least they were hilariously funny being bad, this wasn't. It was terrible in every way and it has no excuse for the sh*t in it. Ladies and Gentlemen this was the first time I ever walked out on a movie inside of the movie theater. I guess this is what happens when you have your director be the guy who directed Step Up 2, Step Up 3D, and Justin Bieber's Never Say Never Documentary.
Phantom Roxas
Wow, even the director was different? That explains a lot. I think the main problem with this film is some of the stuff that resulted from the first film. Destro was the main villain there, and yet he is completely wasted here. I was fine with getting around the problem of not bringing back Joseph Gordon-Levitt by giving Cobra Commander his classic appearance, but that's not something that could be easily done with Destro. Roadblock was just a replacement for Ripcord, and they don't even bother with the connection between Cobra Commander and Baroness.I've seen worse, and I just appreciate this as a fun little action flick. I'm not a G.I. Joe fan, so I just ended up seeing this with friends, but I legitimately loved the Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow subplot.Ultimately, this movie's biggest flaw was doing little to nothing with the previous film's cast, aside from any that played a part in loose ends that needed to be tied up. There's no doubt going to be a third film, so I'll see how that turns out.
Thar
It pretty much only skyrocketed in the box office because Dwayne Johnson promoted it through the WWE. I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard indifferent opinions on it at best. Pretty much just an action flick with guns on steroids.
