Cardfight! Vanguard: A Tale of Three Shops [PG-13] (Not Accepting/Started)

Recommended Posts

Name: Hideki Nisokusanmon
Gender: Male
Age: 33
Appearance: Hideki is quite short, even for a Japanese person, only clocking in at a little over four-and-a-half feet tall, but he is clearly overweight, with a rather rotund form made up of pasty skin, multiple chins, thin lips on a wider-than-normal mouth, and beady eyes. He is normally seen with a specially-tailored pinstripe business suit like American gangsters and mafioso wear in popular culture, complete with loafers and a black tie. His head is bald and clearly shaven, but he wears a pair of aviator sunglasses on top of his head, which he occasionally lowers down to his face when he goes out. He also utilizes a black umbrella as a sort of cane and a longer reach, though he opens it if it is too sunny out, so he doesn't get a tan. Also, he is usually seen with some sort of shounen manga in his hands, reading it when he is bored or waiting for something else to happen.
Personality: Hideki, as the younger, gutless son of a rather ancient and terrifying yakuza boss, is constantly trying to win over his father's affections from his elder brother. Due to his daddy issues, he is constantly insecure and secretly self-loathing, though he hides this behind a facade of a fearsome gangster, though he clearly is not. He is known for being quite greedy, due to his immature nature equating that getting money for his father will make his father happy. Also, he takes out his frustrations on his staff, especially the poor, hapless yakuza members who have to put up with his crap. He is quite the otaku, wanting to be a smooth operator from portrayals of the glamourous life of a crime baron from the early 20th century in America, as well as his own country's spin on the yakuza.
Bio: Hideki is the second and youngest son of Osamu Nisokusanmon, the current leader of the local yakuza, and the little brother of Kazuo Nisokusanmon, the head enforcer and the most likely candidate to become the head of the yakuza. Even though Kazuo is the child of the previous yakuza boss, Osamu's own elder brother, before Osamu killed his brother, Osamu took the baby boy in, who was the same age as his own son, and raised both of them alongside each other. Kazuo grew into a wonderful addition to the family, being handsome and cunning, while Hideki was always stuck as the second fiddle, and resented the fact that he could never surpass the elder brother he wasn't supposed to have. Furthermore, any attempts that Hideki have made to surpass his brother have always ended in total failure, and a stern lecturing from his father.
However, with Cardfight! Vanguard sweeping the world by storm, Hideki has a clever plan to not only get ahead of his brother and make his father proud, but also put him on the map in an area no other yakuza have ever attempted to dominate: the world of childrens' playing cards. By managing to acquire an old card shop property from its previous owner, Hideki has poured energy and money into his new card shop, using his connections, in conjunction with old-fashioned bribery and intimidation, to attempt to legitimize his claim, and is even hiring professional players to run his shop to make it as "authentic" as possible so he can drive the other two shops in the city out of business, and start his own empire.
Clan: None
Shop Manager: Yes

Name of Shop: GameStor
Shop Team Name: CardHard
Bio: GameStor has the potential to become a big-name chain of card shops catering exclusively to the current trends. The two-level building has a bottom floor filled with shelves upon shelves and racks upon racks of card game merchandise, especially card packs and decks, as well as display cases of rare cards. Patrolling this level are poorly-disguised yakuza enforcers that serve as security and the ones doing the behind-the-scenes work while Hideki sits at the counter, ready to ring up customers and bring in the cash. On the top floor is the playing room, with plenty of mats, tables, and chairs for anyone to sit down and play, though this requires a person to go up a staircase near the back of the shop. This upper level has an excellent view of the bustling street below, and, if it weren't for the fact that food or drink are not allowed up here, would make a great place for a cafe of sorts. However, something just feels...off...about GameStor. While the prices are so much better than anywhere else, the atmosphere feels artificial compared to the other game shops. There is simply too much merchandise, too many advertisements, and too few actual experts on the game to help a player out, save for the members of Team CardHard, who are players that have essentially become mercenaries for Hideki, fighting his card tournaments for him. The very existence and success of this shop brings into question the true value behind a card, and whether or not Hideki actually has something going for him.
Other Info: GameStor, thanks to its yakuza influence, is able to buy packs and merchandise from retailers for lower prices and in larger bulk than its competitors, and can therefore sell at cheaper prices. Furthermore, Hideki is currently working to somehow acquire cheap rare cards to sell at lower prices than normal, and is even attempting to get sneak peeks and release parties thrown at his shop. Unfortunately, the lack of a true spirit of a card shop makes GameStor seem less like a place you would want to hang out and make friends and more like a place you would want to simply get cards from, though the allure of cheap cards continues to draw customers.

OK so, Justice...I didn't know what to do about this...but I sorta said that Shio was running down the streets of Masayoshi (Meaning Justice <- xD)

Hopefully your cool with that being the city's name...if not I can change it.

All of my yes. I'll edit the OP soon to add that in.

So for our opening posts, we just need to get our character(s) in to Card Shop Radiance and hang about, right? Or should we be orientated towards finding an opponent or buying cards or something specific?

I would get yourself into one of the three shops and hang about. We do want a Cardfight to start soon, but we should have some intro time.

I can't keep a straight face whenever I see that name.

Also, I'll post later today. Maybe even conduct some trolling with Yumemi. to be honest I kinda want her to have an army of geeky fanboys....

That's totally the point, and it highlights Hideki's complete ineptitude.
Also, since I love giving meaning to things, the names of my characters actually have significance that reflects who they are.
