Cardfight! Vanguard: A Tale of Three Shops [PG-13] (Not Accepting/Started)

Recommended Posts
The following is real important stuff I felt couldn't be put in the rules section. It will be updated if anything needs to be specified or changed.

 • If you find the card on the Cardfight!! Vanguard wiki, you can probably use it. Exceptions as of currently are any cards that are Grade 4 or 5 and the Etranger clan.(Might be opened up, just not sure how much I want to see Spider-Man in our RP cardfights.)
 • Decklists, while they don't have to be placed within your app in this thread, MUST be sent to me. Any changes to the deck must be first sent to me and then at least mentioned in an IC or OOC post. Just so it's not out of nowhere.
 • Cardfights will be the most difficult thing to do, but I'll make sure that they still will be fun and interesting. First, when the two characters decide that they're gonna get some awesome Grade 3 skills cardfighting on, I'll PM you a version of your decklist that's been through a randomizer.(You can still mull you cards and I'll put the deck though said randomizer again minus the cards you've chosen to keep.) If you shuffle your deck during the game, I'll send you the updated list that's been shuffled around. Basically, that'll be the order of your deck for all cards you draw and take damage for and etc. The big problem I see with this is you knowing your next card, but it's sadly the best way I've found to balance it without sending you every single card you get individually. If you're confused by this method and need more explanation, I'll gladly post it here and add it to this post.
 • Alternatively, you guys can fight it out on Cray Online and document the fight so you know how everything goes. If you do that, try and record it if you could. If not, just take a LOT of screenshots.
 • There will be three rival card shops that this RP will be based around. Two of them will have a manager character made by one of you guys.(I'm making the third one.) That'll be first come first serve. Don't worry, all characters go into every shop and they're generally friends.

Imagine it. It's the near future. The world has been taken by storm by the popularity of card games, the most popular of all being Cardfight!! Vanguard. The card game has become so popular that it's been used in schools as alternative ways of teaching. It's been introduced to billions around the globe, all who wish to go to the elite cardfighting tournaments to prove their strength. Vanguard's effect on the modern world cannot be denied and it's being spread even more each day. Card shops have become hugely populated hangout areas and have been proven money makers around the globe.

Interestingly enough, in a Japanese city named Masayoshi, there were three card shops founded fairly close within each other. The owners instantly became rivals, all trying to gain more clientele and win more regional tournaments than the other shops. This continued for three generations until the third generation of shop owners chose to retire from the card shop business and sell it or give it to a someone new. While they didn't all occur at once, it was a slippery slope. You are a cardfighter who happens to live in this small city. Oddly enough, you've found yourself within these three card businesses. Your story is tied to these shops as theirs are to yours. This is the tale of the shop trio and you.

1. Advanced Clause obviously.
This goes without saying, but I'm required to explain it to you nonetheless. In short, no powerplaying, godmodding, and metagaming. All IC posts require roughly 100 words at standard formatting or four lines of text. No posting in script format. Also, no copy and pasting characters AKA expying characters without tailoring them to this RP. Lastly, just don't use chat speak or smilies and make sure to use good grammar in IC, at least.

2. Be active.
If you have the inability to post at least every other day, then it might be better to not sign up.

3. I am the one with final say and that's final.

4. If you're going to introduce important NPCs, please give me a heads up.
I just don't want people popping up out of nowhere.

5. Up to two characters per person.

6. Be a good sport.
Seriously, it's an RP about a card game. This kinda ties into the idea of allowing yourself to accept your character losing. Like you should.

7. Stay away from canon characters and shops.

Name: Daiki Unabara

Gender: Male

Age: 23
tk88tj3.jpg

Due to his inexperience with ownership, he tends not to wear a uniform. Instead, he wears a button custom made for his card shop. He does stand at six feet and weighs about 180 lbs.

Daiki has been known to be the more confusing one when it came to the groups that accepted him. He was generally accepted as being rather intelligent and known to have lost of passion and love for Vanguard. With that in mind, he's been known to get carried away in the game, never to the point of true anger or frustration, but still getting overly involved. Daiki is a pretty friendly guy, as he considers just about everyone, especially his customers, to be friends. Even armed with his vast knowledge, there are times where he's not quite able to understand the emotions of others. However, he's been known to be easily frustrated in certain situations and even get very defensive of those he considers his friends. Overlooking his small shop, he hopes to see people love this shop as much as he did.

As with most other people, Daiki's first encounters with Vanguard happened at a young age. There was really nothing too special about the first time he saw a cardfight, at least, nothing that could be seen through another's eyes. That first match he laid eyes on showed him a world of infinite possibility and never-ending enjoyment. As he started moving on to the bigger and more difficult schools, he was still able to keep his grades at excellent levels, allowing him an abundance of free time to spend at his local card shop, Game Haven. The people he met there accepted him and in a few short weeks, he was able to make the shop's own team.

Interestingly, while all those cardfights were occurring, Daiki was up to something himself. A deck he was creating, though the cards were quite rare. Before the first tournament, he had finally finished this piece of true Vanguard historia. However, he had created this deck unlike the other ones. This one was made to bring his team to sure victory. And in most of the rounds of the regional tournament, it did. That's when they had gotten to the finals. All he had to do was win his one game and he was with a deck that could do such. But that's when he made just one misplay. This misplay ruined everything and caused his team to lose. The leader immediately kicked him off of the team.

The abandonment by the team leader caused him to leave Vanguard and his favorite shop. Either way, he was about to go for college. He didn't need a card game to distract him. In his time there he began to think about the situation more clearly and through a less offended perspective. It might've been for the best. He decided he could go back and make amends. When he drove up, Daiki was surprised to see a "For Sale" sign hanging upon the shop. None of the old regulars of the card shop he once knew were still there. They had all moved on. He didn't want to see his favorite little place fade away like that. After a lengthy talk with manager and a visit to the bank to get his few remaining funds, the shop had been passed down upon to him. The first thing he needed to do was create a new name, one that represented the shop Daiki was making. One that represented the place's bright future.

Name of Shop: Card Shop Radiance

Shop Team Name: Team Sol

Bio: As the small building that once used to stand tall as Game Haven, Radiance had a tough act to follow. Thankfully, in it's six month lifespan it's been able to attract a new audience and gain a considerable amount of sales. While the shop has gone without many notable happenings, it's really highly due to the young age of the shop overall. It's current owner is determined and it's future is as bright as the shop's name.

Weight: 200lb
Personality: Calm-minded while having a firey passion for vanguard. Delano believes in fair-play even going as far as to buy packs from his own shop, and pull them infront of his customers to edit his own deck. He also is very generous to people occassionally giving a booster pack or even a Rare card from his collection to customers to help make their decks better to help them enjoy the game.  Delano has a competitive nature that causes him to challenge winners of his Shop tournaments to games for an extra rare card prize for defeating him, and occassionally Delano will play in his own shop tournaments.

Bio:

Delano grew up mostly in Japan, but has moved around the world due to his Father's work. nothing really special expect for the fact that his parents own several small business. Delano was introduced to vanguard on a business trip with his father to Tokyo. His father took Delano to a small cardshop in Tokyo where he noticed several people grouped around cheering, and watching an intense game of vanguard. The game peeked Delano's interest encouraging his father to allow him to play game. His father nodded in approval handing Delano a trial deck bought from the shopkeeper. The passion of the players in the shop inspired Delano to try and create his own Cardshop so players from not just in local community, but anyone from anywhere can come in and enjoy playing vanguard, make friends, and overall have a fun time.

Years later a few months after his 18th birthday, Delano's Father handed Delano a briefcase of money he saved for Delano to use on to start his own dream. Delano with great pride accepted the money, and used it to start up his own Cardshop. It has been 2 years, since that day with Delano's cardshop doing well, and inspiring young lads to enjoy vanguard with their friends like he was.

Delano bought the property wanting to turn an eye sore into a valuable asset for the community. Delano hired various people he know from his Father's connections to transform the space into his desired cardshop. The Renovation of the building took a full month to get in its current condition of a fully functioning card shop.
The shop has been in business for 2 years, with none of its teams making it past regional tournaments yet, but still holds an enjoyable environment that promotes players desire to aim for the top of the vanguard world.
Name: Hideki Nisokusanmon
Gender: Male
Age: 33
Appearance: Hideki is quite short, even for a Japanese person, only clocking in at a little over four-and-a-half feet tall, but he is clearly overweight, with a rather rotund form made up of pasty skin, multiple chins, thin lips on a wider-than-normal mouth, and beady eyes. He is normally seen with a specially-tailored pinstripe business suit like American gangsters and mafioso wear in popular culture, complete with loafers and a black tie. His head is bald and clearly shaven, but he wears a pair of aviator sunglasses on top of his head, which he occasionally lowers down to his face when he goes out. He also utilizes a black umbrella as a sort of cane and a longer reach, though he opens it if it is too sunny out, so he doesn't get a tan. Also, he is usually seen with some sort of shounen manga in his hands, reading it when he is bored or waiting for something else to happen.
Personality: Hideki, as the younger, gutless son of a rather ancient and terrifying yakuza boss, is constantly trying to win over his father's affections from his elder brother. Due to his daddy issues, he is constantly insecure and secretly self-loathing, though he hides this behind a facade of a fearsome gangster, though he clearly is not. He is known for being quite greedy, due to his immature nature equating that getting money for his father will make his father happy. Also, he takes out his frustrations on his staff, especially the poor, hapless yakuza members who have to put up with his crap. He is quite the otaku, wanting to be a smooth operator from portrayals of the glamourous life of a crime baron from the early 20th century in America, as well as his own country's spin on the yakuza.
Bio: Hideki is the second and youngest son of Osamu Nisokusanmon, the current leader of the local yakuza, and the little brother of Kazuo Nisokusanmon, the head enforcer and the most likely candidate to become the head of the yakuza. Even though Kazuo is the child of the previous yakuza boss, Osamu's own elder brother, before Osamu killed his brother, Osamu took the baby boy in, who was the same age as his own son, and raised both of them alongside each other. Kazuo grew into a wonderful addition to the family, being handsome and cunning, while Hideki was always stuck as the second fiddle, and resented the fact that he could never surpass the elder brother he wasn't supposed to have. Furthermore, any attempts that Hideki have made to surpass his brother have always ended in total failure, and a stern lecturing from his father.
However, with Cardfight! Vanguard sweeping the world by storm, Hideki has a clever plan to not only get ahead of his brother and make his father proud, but also put him on the map in an area no other yakuza have ever attempted to dominate: the world of childrens' playing cards. By managing to acquire an old card shop property from its previous owner, Hideki has poured energy and money into his new card shop, using his connections, in conjunction with old-fashioned bribery and intimidation, to attempt to legitimize his claim, and is even hiring professional players to run his shop to make it as "authentic" as possible so he can drive the other two shops in the city out of business, and start his own empire.

Name of Shop: GameStor
Shop Team Name: CardHard
Bio: GameStor has the potential to become a big-name chain of card shops catering exclusively to the current trends. The two-level building has a bottom floor filled with shelves upon shelves and racks upon racks of card game merchandise, especially card packs and decks, as well as display cases of rare cards. Patrolling this level are poorly-disguised yakuza enforcers that serve as security and the ones doing the behind-the-scenes work while Hideki sits at the counter, ready to ring up customers and bring in the cash. On the top floor is the playing room, with plenty of mats, tables, and chairs for anyone to sit down and play, though this requires a person to go up a staircase near the back of the shop. This upper level has an excellent view of the bustling street below, and, if it weren't for the fact that food or drink are not allowed up here, would make a great place for a cafe of sorts. However, something just feels...off...about GameStor. While the prices are so much better than anywhere else, the atmosphere feels artificial compared to the other game shops. There is simply too much merchandise, too many advertisements, and too few actual experts on the game to help a player out, save for the members of Team CardHard, who are players that have essentially become mercenaries for Hideki, fighting his card tournaments for him. The very existence and success of this shop brings into question the true value behind a card, and whether or not Hideki actually has something going for him.
Other Info: GameStor, thanks to its yakuza influence, is able to buy packs and merchandise from retailers for lower prices and in larger bulk than its competitors, and can therefore sell at cheaper prices. Furthermore, Hideki is currently working to somehow acquire cheap rare cards to sell at lower prices than normal, and is even attempting to get sneak peeks and release parties thrown at his shop. Unfortunately, the lack of a true spirit of a card shop makes GameStor seem less like a place you would want to hang out and make friends and more like a place you would want to simply get cards from, though the allure of cheap cards continues to draw customers.

Name: Shio Kazaki
Gender: Male
Age: 19
7P29UbY.jpg

Level-headed in any situation, that's just one of the things you can describe Shio with. Along with that, his support with treating each player with the same respect is also one that shows a lot in him. He is quite friendly and loves to make new friends, especially from his favorite card game. However, at sometimes when he's supposed to be serious, he starts playing around and acting like a total goof. It may be fun to him, but to others (especially his teammates on any team), they think he's not taking things seriously...which most of the time is not the state of the matter. But either after being told by his teammates, or even some times from his opponents, Shio's demeanor can change to make himself focused on the situation at hand. And most usually, because of that and his bond with this deck, he usually comes out on top.

Imagine it...

A young boy being brought into the world not really caring much for any card game that was ever brought out. His parent's were too busy to actually do anything with him and his friends didn't care much for him. That was definitely Shio's life in a nutshell. However, there was a small twist in fate that brought him to meet face to face with Vanguard.

His mother's job laid her off, now becoming a stay at home mom. One day, she took Shio out for a while to the store to get a few things. That's when Shio's eyes were glued straight on a few packs of Vanguard cards. He begged his mother for them, at which she happily did so, even buying him more than he originally wanted to get. The two got home and then they both began to open packs and look at cards, one of the cards Shio still has to this day: Blaster Blade of the Royal Paladins. From there, with his mother's help, he made his own Royal Paladin deck and loved it. He played against his mother's Oracle Think Tank every chance he got, loving that they could spend this time with each other...but it was short lived.

Shio's father thought this all was foolishness, wanting them both to stop. It honestly continued to get worse, as both Shio's parents began arguments over this, to the point of his mom leaving the two of them. Once this happened, his father tossed all his Vanguard cards away, except the Royal Paladin deck he made, which he stashed away. The next few years were saddening, as Shio missed the fun that he and his mother had fighting each other...which made him miss it even more. Not knowing where she went, and not wanting to stay with his father, Shio at the age of seventeen ran away.

For the following two years, Shio lived in a small shack that was abandoned. He currently has residency there, still trying to figure out where his mother had went...and try to evade his still searching father.

Yuja is fairly reserved and doesn't like to talk to anyone that he doesn't know personally, although this wasn't entirely the case. When he was a kid, he had a near-death experience whilst playing football with his friends. When the football ended up on the road, Yuja elected to get the ball himself, but as he picked up the ball, a car was pulling up and was about to hit him when a stranger stepped in and saved him in the nick of time, though it left him in shock for a while. It was this near-death experience that brought on his exceptional memory, preserving every moment in his life. When cardfighting, Yuja reverts to his younger self and just has fun since it suppresses his memory of the accident.

As a child, Yuja enjoyed having fun with the other kids in the neighbourhood which would then become his close circle of friends, and they would either play football or play harmless practical jokes on the people in the neighbour. It was a good life for the carefree lads and they all thought that nothing bad would ever happen to them as long as they were careful, but they were wrong.

One day, the boys were playing football when Yuja kicked the ball too hard and it ended up on the road. None of the boys didn't want to get the ball themselves, but Yuja volunteered himself as it was his fault the ball ended up on the road. As he went to pick it up, a car was pulling up at the time just as he picked up the ball. It was then that a stranger walking his dog noticed this that he stepped in, grabbed Yuja and saving his life, though this left him in shock for a while. It was through this near-death experience that Yuja had gained an exceptional memory and memorized every aspect of his life after that.

Ever since the near-death experience, Yuja became reserved and didn't enjoy playing football much anymore. His friend James didn't like the change in Yuja and his brother told him that he should play a card game and took him to the nearest card shop. When they arrived as Vanguard game was going on and James urged Yuja to watch the game as he thought it'd be fun and afterwards, Yuja wanted to get into Vanguard himself. Buying a few booster packs, Yuja memorized the effects of each card and when he saw Dragonic Kaiser Vermilion, he stared at it and decided that is the deck he wanted to play. Through playing Vanguard, his friends had noticed a change in Yuja, in the fact that he was having fun again, and they thought that they could enjoy life like they used to do, but he still remained as reserved as ever around others though.

Desu is the kind of guy who is all over that place with his emotions. One day he might be super happy and joke around with his friends, not having a care in the world, but on another day he could be super depressed, thinking about his brother Ken and would aks his friends to be left alone, and his behaviour has been like that since his brother, Ken died. Before Ken died, Desu was a happy kid and would enjoy playing with Ken, whether it be in a cardfight or playing on the computer. His erratic/changeable behaviour has also occured in his cardfights as he seems to ramble on during his turns and he also likes to overreact when he rides his brother's favourite card, Spectral Duke Dragon, a card that he promised his brother that he'd use moments before his death.

When Desu was brought into the world, his parents knew that like his older brother Ken, that he would also get into playing Vanguard. Whilst his mother was taking care of Desu, she would let him watch her husband and Ken play Vanguard so that he can get to grips with the rules and pick them up when he got older, and it was through watching these games, that he would say his first word: "Vanguard?" although he said it as if he was confused by saying it, but nevertheless, his family laughed and were also happy for him as it was the first stepping stone in getting him to playing Vanguard.

When he got older, his parents built him his very own Gold Paladin deck much like his brother, however focusing on a different win condition to his brother, that being Blond Ezel and his older brother who also used Gold Paladin, focusing on Spectral Duke Dragon. jumped to the chance to play him every day after school. However it wasn't long before a tragedy befell the family. One day Desu was excited to play his brother and waited by the window for him to come in through the door, but he never came back. Desu still waited for his brother for hours until the family got a call from the hospital, where it was explained that Ken had been shot by a thug that was chasing him. Desu felt bad for his brother and promised him that if he were to die, that he would use his Gold Paladin deck in memory of him, and when Ken was confirmed to have died, his death had caused Desu's emotions to go all erratic.

Name: Reese Evergreen
Gender: Male
Age: 17
nYPjK4V.jpg
Personality:Reese is a nerd if there ever was one. He prides himself on the random trivia he knows and random facts he could spout out at a moment notice. He really tries hard to make himself appear humble but his lack of humility slips out every now and again. While he does believe in the importance of making friends and thus he tries his hardest befriend everyone. This may come across as severely aggressive or simply he is trying to hard but his intentions are noble. Second while he may not care anything about typical high school problems due to his being a foreigner he does have an odd disliking for Narakumi and Kagero players. Its nothing too offensive it's just that he feels that people that play only those two clans feel like they have a monopoly on using dragons. A lot of clans have dragons and he wants his deck of dragons to gain some recognition as well. He prides himself on his knowledge of Vanguard as a card game mainly because that is why he is in Japan in the first place.

Bio: Reese is a pure blooded American. His life was pretty normal until he started getting into the ways of vanguard. Due to his constant studying of the game he became quite good at it. He would win regional tournaments but never national ones. He still had potential though. So much potential that he was offered the opportunity to go study abroad in Japan at a prestigious school that focused on Vanguard studies. It was quite impressive and it was quite the honor so naturally his family let him leave for this brave new world. At his school he realized that Vanguard portion of the curriculum was a lot prominent than he ever thought a card game would be. He wasn't the only foreigner there he was actually one of many. This meant that he had to crank his brain up to 100 percent and actually put in some effort, which was already hard since he was barely getting used to the language barrier.

Nevertheless school was pretty fun. Sure classes were harder and for some odd reason so were the extracurriculars. As for his placement in the Vanguard rankings he was periodically mid tier. As he understood the top members of the program were slated to compete as national teams. Reese always wanted to be a member of one those selected teams but he was constantly getting failing to place high enough in the schools ranking system. Pale Moons are such a tricky deck to go against. Reese figures that in order to make himself better at the game he would have to devote some time outside of the school to train thus bringing him to one of the three neighboring card shops.

Gender: Female
Age: 16
Appearance:
JI2WMrx.jpg

The left image is what she starts as. She eventually becomes the right image.
Personality: Mayumi is rather introverted and shy, preferring to keep to herself instead of reaching out to make any friends. This is due to the fact that her family has moved around so much, so she has shut herself away from others in order to not feel any hurt upon leaving them. Instead, she prefers to spend her spare time reading books, of which she is a voracious reader. Science fiction and fantasy are her favorite subjects. She is a bit germophobic, as well as slightly OCD, and carries around a set of wipes to clean things and disinfect what she perceives as dirty, usually to comedic effect. Due to her social awkwardness, as well as her disconnect from being away from Japan for so long, she feels even more excluded, and therefore sees no real reason to participate in the world around her when she has her books to keep her company and entertained. If only there was some other hobby that she could get into that would require her to be sociable...

Bio: Mayumi is the only child of a high-ranking corporate executive who moved all over the world for his job, and dragging his daughter along with him, and never staying in one place for more than 18 months at a time. Because of this instability of a proper environment in which to raise a child, coupled with Mayumi's mother dying from a rare African disease when she was little, Mayumi has grown into a social wallflower, unwilling to make friends because she doesn't want to hurt herself, and has a somewhat rationalized fear of uncleanliness stemming from the trauma of her mother's death. Her father, tired of dragging her all over the world, has finally placed her back in her native homeland all alone and nothing but a small apartment, an enrollment into a nearby high school, and a rather generous fund to utilize for food, supplies, and payments regarding school and the apartment. There's a nice little card shop called "Card Shop Radiance" or something that's near the route she takes on her bicycle from school and back, but it doesn't interest her much...yet...

Age: 17
tumblr_m766ldOsVq1r81tfto1_500.jpg

Although usually without the music player.

In terms of behavior, Yuuichi is of a roguish sort. He has a mischievous nature, a dislike for excessive rules and regulations, and a generally positive outlook. Due to the importance of politeness being repeated to him again and again in his childhood, he is polite as need be and is a remarkably good sport, complimenting his opponents on their victory and comically lamenting his own lack of luck. An unfortunate aspect is that he can never truly take any situation seriously, as he generally believes that things will work out in the positive somehow, even if he does slack off a little.

Born to parents that made sure to spend quality time with their children, Yuuichi grew up relatively happy and with sufficient freedom. His parents wren't particularly wealthy, but the amount they made from their jobs was just about right to live a comfortable life without overly pampering their children. Yuuichi himself was not what one would consider a "great" student, but his grades were relatively high and he was well liked by his peers.

His encounter with Vanguard was relatively simple. Having heard of the game from a classmate, he went to a nearby store and bought a pack. Whether it be a simple thing of chance or a ordained route of fate, the first card he pulled from said pack was Captain Nightkid. The card interested him; after all, a child defying authority and leaving behind a possibly comfy life to a tough life as a pirate? While Yuuichi had no desire to leave home, he could appreciate such spirit. After further research into clans, his interest into the Granblue grew. Not only did they take upon the free life of a pirate, they also defied the restraints of death and rose again from the grave to do battle once again. At this point, his mind was made up. He would play Vanguard from that day forward, and when he did, the Granblue would be the warriors he commanded.

Name: Kuromi Yojirou
Gender: Female
Age: 16
nq8vwlO.png

Kuromi is, for the most part, relatively quiet. In most any situation, she has more than a few thoughts that she could voice, but seldom chooses to actually do so, for a few reasons. Most of the time, she feels that her decision won't matter much in the grand scheme of things even if she did speak up, and her generally reserved way of approaching things is more than enough to keep her thoughts locked away. If she does find it in her to actually respond though, her words would expose what she is on the inside: slightly condescending, but with a determined drive to get things done, and done right. This attitude is how Kuromi goes about everything, from studying to games to even holding grudges, because if there's one thing she hates, it's failure, or more specifically, her own failure if she wasn't giving it her all. Finally, Kuromi has a rather nasty tendency to express a certain degree of pleasure from crushing an opponent, mostly in competitions or inconsequential events. She generally tries not to do so when around friends or new acquaintances, but this nasty streak of hers has slowly been creeping into her Vanguard fights as well...

For the earlier part of her life, Kuromi lived the life of stereotypical child of her age, growing up and going to school. However, her originally bubbly self suddenly quiet after her 7th birthday. No one was quite sure why, and though they asked if something was wrong, she simply shrugged off such questions with a simple reassurance that she was fine and nothing more. Pragmatic and hard working from that day forward, it seemed that this change was, for the most part, a turn for the better. Of course, fate wasn't kind enough to leave her life alone forth rest of its duration.

At age 9, her parents divorced. Although they had tried not to, for Kuromi's sake, in the end the split was inevitable and she now had only her mother. For Kuromi, who had loved both her parents equally, the absence of her father was a huge blow. Whereas she had once been simply less prone to speak, now she was downcast and depressed. She remained thus for a few weeks, but realizing that languishing thus would only upset her mother further, she did her best to pull some semblance of her original self together. Those who had the eyes to see saw that she had not yet recovered though, and in an attempt to at least distract her from recent events, a group of her friends led her to a card shop. They then proceeded to plunk her down on a seat with an opponent, and after borrowing a deck, encouraged her to play just the one game of Vanguard. Kuromi had watched other Vanguard fights before, but had never played one. Perhaps she herself realized that remaining unhappy over an event of the past would only be a burden to her and everyone else, but whatever the case, she consented. Her opponent, a certain boy wielding a deck of the Granblue clan, was a strong adversary and for the first time in a long while, she found herself simply reveling in the sheer intensity of the moment. Following her victory, Kuromi became more or less the same as she had been, although she never regained her original level of chattiness. She did, however, become more involved in the Vanguard game and while she has yet to play again after the first time, she has shored up on her knowledge and constructed a deck.

Name: Yumemi Shiro
Gender: F
Age: 15 (Physical age of 19)
35LAs28.jpg

Blunt and sarcastic is probably one of Shiro's most noticeable traits and it has stayed with her even before turning into a cyborg. Being born in a high-class family, Shiro often looks down on others and thinks of herself as better than other people, a trait which is enhanced further after her accident. Despite having near limitless stamina, Shiro is very lazy and prefers to manipulate others to do her bidding. Thanks to her cyborg implants, she is very cunning and smart, able to solve complex mathematical questions quickly as well as capable of manipulating others. However, her immaturity often interferes with her intellect and often does things without really thinking about them. The fact that she doesn't feel pain certainly does not help her case. However, the one thing in which she actually uses all of her mind and data is during a Cardfight battle.

Bio: Born into a rich, high-class family, Shiro spent most of her childhood being home schooled in her huge mansion. Her parents overly spoiled her and as such, she developed her superiority complex which will later become her downfall. Her parents later sent her on an all girls middle school where she learned about Cardfight! Vanguard. Since then, she boughtt numerous booster packs and eventually settled on a Royal Paladin deck and she spent a lot of her after-school time at a local card shop. During her 15th birthday, she went on a hiking trip with her friends. During the trip, she came across a lone wanderer that asked her for some food. Naturally, she ignored him and went along with her trip. However, the man was very frustrated after being lost in that mountain for weeks and pushed Shiro off the edge of the mountain. Through some miracle, Shiro survived the fall. However, she is left paralyzed and comatose.

During this time, a scientist approached her family and gave them a proposal. The scientist was studying the concept of cyborgs and that Shiro has the opportunity to become a cyborg. Her parents accepted the offer and 3 months later, Shiro became a cyborg. The operation completely reconstructed her body and turned her into a 19-year old version of herself cast out of cold metal with a bit of layering as skin. When she returned home, the first thing she did was throw out her old Royal Paladin deck and constructed an all new Shadow Paladin one, claiming that "Light is no longer needed for me to see". She later spent most of her time playing around and being a popular player in Card Shop Radiance.
Well, I have an interesting proposal.

I actually don't really know how to play CF:V.

And don't you tell me to watch the first episode of the anime. I did, and I still don't get it.

Can I play a character who doesn't know how to play the most popular game in the world, and learns over the course of the RP?

Justice! Your first completed app is here ^^

Name: Shio Kazaki
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Anime_Guy.jpg

I'm thinking on having my character run a Billy Deck of cards she thinks are pretty, but don't really work together, a la Joey Wheeler.

Is that possible in Vanguard?

Otherwise, what do you guys think would be a good set of cards for a complete newb to the game?

It can work if it's along the right lines of cards.

Umm, the easiest clans to get used to are, Royals and Oracle Think Tank. The former since it's a fairly easy play style non Alfred, and the latter since they focus around drawing. Which is an easy deck focus.

I think I'll go with the Think Tank.

You can go with Battle Sisters (easiest because they're just nuns with guns), Tsukuyomi Tom (easy too but difficult in an RP because of the constant shuffling), Amateratsu (could be fun), Sakura Beat (draw shenanigans for days), Souless OTT (Meta level draw shenanigans)

Vanguard is pretty vast when it comes to its clans lol
