Well, since I was sick of studying for finals, I did an analysis on some of the RWBY characters.

[spoiler=RWBY]

Ruby Rose: As of recent, she has taken to playing the role of a Sniper and leader. In combat she has usually been only sniping, while giving orders to her team. She is a great leader, and her close range combat, from what we have seen, isn't shabby. She is a speedy, ranged marksman with some scythe wielding skills, but I'm willing to bet her aura is fragile and her defensive skills are lacking.

Blake: Blake is fast, mobile, and very assassin like. Her fighting style is very fast paced, slice and dice, before letting her shadows take the hit. She is hard to pin down and excells in 1 on 1 combat. Her shadow semblance can be augmented via dust, making her shadows hazardous especially in close range. Her speed is incredible, as i s her mobility. Her weakness seems to lie with a lack of real power behind het strikes. As we can see, she strikes very fast and often, but they seem to lack in real, meaningful damage.

Yang: Yan plays the role of a bruiser in team RWBY. She is short ranged, massive damage. Her punches hold a lot of power, and she isn't afraid to charge. She is shown to have a skill in marital arts, and modifies her attacks with shot gun blasts. Her semblance encourages the up close fighting style, because soon enough she will be able to overwhelm her foes through brute force. However, as seen in the fight with Neo, Yang struggles taking on evasive targets, as she can have all all the power in the world, but it means nothing if she can't land a blow.

Weiss: My personal favorite, and the glass cannon, Weiss Schnee is RWBY's support. Her glyphs have many different effects, from acting as platforms to increasing speed. She also manipulates dust in a mage-like fashion. She seems to have a tendency towards Ice, as her name would suggest. In 1 on 1, she is agile, and poised. Her fencing style is refined and deadly, but like Blake, she seems to lack real power behind her strikes. She also has a very weak aura, and a tendency to get knocked out in a single strike. She is also the only person to have been wounded through their aura.

[spoiler=JNPR]

Jaune: The leader of JNPR, Jaune is characterized by his strong aura and ability to lead well. His main fighting style is defensive oriented. His large shield and powerful aura make him a guardian class, and his weak offense contributes to that. His semblance is still unknown, but it is probably something to do with shields.

Nora Valkery: Female Thor. Nora packd a wallop with her might hammer/grenade launcher. Nora is all about power. Her hammer may not be the fastest, but its blows are devastating. Combined with momentum from the explosions and her tendency to strike from aove, Nora's poor weapon speed is made up for. Her semblance seems situational but good, and based off the fight with the Deathstalker and Nevermore, I can say she is pretty mobile.

Lie Ren: The quick hitter on his team, Ren is fast and relentless. His pistols are perfectly suited for him. Lightweight, high fire rate, and bladed, but lacking in damage. He is shown to be fast on his feet, and excels in 1 on 1 combat. However, he seems to have low stamina. He is constantly winded in fights, and even collapsed in the Emerald Forest.

Pyrrah: The elite. Pyrrah is an amazing combatant, and one of the most balanced fighters. She mixes offense and defense nearly perfectly, dodging attacks with extreme mobility, parrying ia shield, even using her shield as a weapon multiple times. She also has good marksmanship, as she catches Jaune during his free fall from a good 50 yards or so. She even manipulates her semblance in a fight, making slight shifts to the enemies stance. Although she seems perfect, she definitely has an Achilles heel, but it has yet to be revealed.

[spoiler=CFVY]

Coco: My favorite character by far. Coco has monstrous strength, as she swings around het handbag with litte effort, and delivers crippling kicks. However, her strength lies in the offensive pressure her six barreled Gatling Gun provides. This thing is capable of shredding concrete and waves of Grimm like they are paper. However, Coco is seen as immobile using it. Her defensive options are pretty much nil, as her giant handbag may have the impact of a speeding train, but its slow and predictable.

Yatsuhashi: Yatsuhashi is like the uardian. His size and stance seem to resemble a guardian. In the fight with Mercury and Emerald, he is seen protecting coco while her gun is out, and he becomes distressed and enraged when she is dragged away. He is also seen to have an amazing aura, as he tanks many kicks and even a hot geyser to the gace.

Velvet: Although she seems docile, we know she is more than meets the eye. She is highly mobile, like rabbits, and she has an ace in the hole. We don't know her weapon, but we know its huge, and a potential one use since Coco didn't want her to waste it. From what we have seen, she can hold her own against the Grimm, and fought them with a series of kicks and flips, but we know she is timid and fragile. After the explosion of the Ursa, velvet is seen hiding behind Yatsuhashi.

Fox: Fox is the speedy, assassiny character. He is depicted as fast and lethal. He slices up and ursine with little effort, and then even makes it explode. Potentially his semblance could do with force. His fighting style seems up close and personal, much like his team. Unlike most of them, he is quick and strikes fast. It also seems like they rely on Coco for ranged pressure.

When the RT servers wont load so I can't watch the new episode  :7592_key:

Edit: Finally saw the episode

[spoiler=Spoiler alert]

I have a feeling Neo was behind that Yang incident. She must have made the mercury Illusion. Kinda like how earlier there was a Yatsuhashi illusion. Maybe it was Em. Also Pyrrah should just say yes.

[spoiler=Thoughts]Well..... that happened. ._.

I'm still trying to figure out just how the people in the stadium (seemingly) bought Yang attacking Mercury unprovoked, and the only satisfying explanation I have right now is Emerald's semblance works way differently then I thought (since I still think she must've had something to do with the Yatsuhashi illusion and just assumed she can mimic things like people, but this would've had to cover and entire area).

Fight was about what I epxpected the moment I learned Mercury and Yang would be fighting

I fully expect Cinder to have been the one to attack Amber (helloooo last name being Fall), and I cant help but think the Winter powers might be running in the Schnee family, which would explain the hereditary semblance.

Though am I the only one who thinks how they explained the power passing on to a new person is kinda.... tacked on?

Finally saw the episode, but like the Yang/Tifa death battle, I didn't enjoy it as much sadly.

[spoiler=Thoughts on 6]

- It wouldn't surprise me if Neo was involved in that incident at the end, influencing what happened and making it so Yang deliberately attacked Mercury.

- It's interesting that they chose Pyrrha to be the next Autumn maiden (It's what we call the season over here, don't shoot me for it), and I do think she should agree to do it despite the fact that she might not be the same person.

- Also remember when we learned Weiss' semblance is hereditary? With the revelation in this episode, I'm guessing the Winter powers run in the Schnee family.

I think someone made the illusion happen to yang and only yang, making her think Merc attacked, while everyone else didn't see the illusion and just saw Yang attacking merc.

[spoiler=My thoughts on Vol 3 Ep 6]
• Qrow saying "the one responsible for Autumn's condition" in a previous episode makes more sense now that we know that Autumn is a person (and wasn't just a butchered pronunciation of Adam).
• Pyrrha's "evil" face at the end of the previous episode seems to either be either an oversight or an intentional mislead, since the Pyrrha-appearing character did sound and "feel" like Pyrrha. Or maybe the character imitating Pyrrha is just THAT good at such.
• I speculate that PENNY was created by transferring a human aura into a machine, which would explain why PENNY is much more human-like than the other machines. Maybe Ironwood's "help" to creating PENNY was providing a human "sacrifice". (Maybe the human sacrifice was the actual daughter of PENNY's creator? Maybe PENNY's creator wanted stronger powers/strength/immortality for his daughter and chose to have her aura transferred to a robot body?)
• I'm glad to see that the show is finally starting to reach the "dark" feel the intro songs keep advertising.
• Did Yang break Mercury's leg? Sounds like she did. It's great to see him get his comeuppance for working with Cinder, even if nobody in the stadium audience knows that. Also, this adds support to the Crazy Theory that Ozpin is Mercury from the future.
• If the names of characters are anything to go by, then Winter is the Winter maiden, Summer was the Summer maiden, and Cinder Fall was Autumn's assailant and most likely to "naturally" gain Autumn's power. Either way, this still leaves Summer's and Spring's power unaccounted for.

Weird. Don't know how to explain whatever power was in use at the end there, but sucks for Yang to be framed like that.

Also, that's interesting lore with the 4 Maidens. Though I still don't really get why they chose Pyrrha. Is it because she's skilled and has good morals?

It's based mostly on Ozpin's observations of Pyrrha's character.

"She's strong, intelligent, caring, and most importantly, she's ready."

Though with the convoluted rules that the powers abide by, it could easily be any other girl.
