Eh, true. This isn't to the extent of Looking Glass Wars, so I guess it would be more fair to say that this is doing it about as much as Once Upon A Time does. For the record, I haven't read Looking Glass Wars, and I'm not trying to knock it, it's just that it seems to be the most prevalent example I can think of. And besides, isn't this really the most, if only reference to Alice in Wonderland we've got? Because the teachers and possibly Roman's henchwoman seem to have got Wizard of Oz covered.

In my opinion john is a a idiot refusing help, he should be more mindful that he's weak and need to learn to control his hidden powers, i just hope in ep 13 he learns to be more practical than a weakling.

More specifically, help from a girl who clearly has the hots for him, and would be willing to give him private training sessions for.

I'm expecting this arc to be resolved with Ozpin revealing that he knew Jaune lied in his application, probably because he knew Jaune's father or grandfather and/or he thinks Jaune has potential, and that if he was truly worthless, he wouldn't have made it through the forest.

That's what I was thinking.

Same here. I mean, obviously Ozpin has reasoning for all this....

Joel did a coffee-slurping hyperactive history teacher.

Yep. That was definitely Joel Heyman, aka Michael J. Caboose, aka the craziest mofo Rooster Teeth has at its disposal.

Also, the name of said teacher is "Bartholomew Oobleck".
