TERNION CONTEST
So I'm going to create just a simple contest. What you have to do? Just make 3 cards. Ternion means a trio and whatnot. (I just went on Thesaurus.com for that.) They can be just random cards that have nothing to do with each other, or they could support each other, your choice, and depending on that, I may judge them individually OR I may judge them as a set.
Entry Fee: 50 points. Not a hefty price, considering what you are asking of me. You are making me judge 3 freaking cards each, so really, 16.6666... points per card. Think of how much that takes up! There's my internet fee, the price for taking up my time, time is money, they say, there's my living expenses, cuz if I couldn't pay those, how could I live and judge? There is a lot more like my rent, my spending money and etc., you see, that's why you gotta pay.
Rules

1. All YCM Rules apply. Be it the general rules of YCM or the Card Contests rule.

2. Use common sense, this may well be the most important rule because if you follow this rule, then, you are following the other rules.

3. No trolling or spamming in this thread. No being a douchebag either.

4. I reserve the right to add or change rules.

5. I reserve the right to kick you out for no reason whatsoever.

6. Have fun.
Prize List

First Place: 50% of Pot and 3 reps.

Second Place: 30% of Pot and 2 reps.

Third Place: 20% of Pot and 1 rep.

Consolation: 0% of Pot and 0 reps.
Pot: 100 points to start, coutrtesy of your benevolent host, AixDivadis. All entry fees go into the pot.
Contestants

~Renegade~

ThorgrimZz

Loyalist

Prime-Ace John

PaladinCards
GL HF!

For reference this is Freth, Divine Shadowraith's effect:

While this card is face up on the field, place 1 Divine Counter on it every time a "Divine" monster is summoned. You can pay 1000 Life Points, banish this card with 5 Divine Counters on it, and Special Summon 1 "Kireth, Divine Shadowlord" from your hand deck or graveyard

eulhkx.jpg

LORE:

Each time this monster deals Battle Damage to your opponent: Special Summon 1 "Terminion Carpet Soldier" or 1 "Terminion Crazy Samurai" in face-up defense position.

153bc51.jpg

LORE:

Each face-up "Terminion" Monster you control gains 500 ATK and DEF.

34iiosn.jpg

LORE:

This card can attack your opponent directly.  If there is at least 1 other face-up "Terminion" Monster you control, this card cannot be selected as an attack target.

There's a pretty cool pattern that I hid in the cards.  I won't tell you what it is so that it's more fun when you find it. ;)
These three cards revolve around the ancient greek myth about Medusa who was primarily know for turning anyone she encountered to stone (for more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medusa)

The whole idea of this deck is 'turning monsters in stone' - you probably already get the whole vibe.

medusa2l.jpg

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
This card must be sucessfully Synchro Summoned to activate and resolve this effect. Once per turn, you can banish 3 cards in your Graveyard: Special Summon 1 "Gorgon Eye of Affray" Token (DARK, level 1, Fiend-Type, ATK/200, DEF/0). "Gorgon Eye of Affray" Tokens can only be used as Xyz Material for the Xyz Summon of a DARK Xyz monster. Once per turn, you can target 1 monster your opponent controls and equip 1 "Gorgon Eye of Affray" Token to it. The equipped monster cannot attack or switch its position. If this card is removed from the field; destroy all "Gorgon Eye of Affray" Tokens on either side of the field.

If this card was Special Summoned, you can target 1 monster your opponent controls: It cannot attack or switch its position until the your next End Phase. Once per turn, you can Special Summon this card due to the following recquirement:
If this card is banished due to the effect of "Medusa, Gorgon of Affray."
Destroy 1 face-up "Gorgon Eye of Affray" Token on either side of the field. This card can only be Special Summoned from your hand.
If a face-up DARK monster you control is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard. During your next End Phase of this turn, you must destroy card. This card can only be Special Summoned from your hand.

stareofstone2.jpg

Activate only after your opponent Normal Summoned a monster: It cannot attack and cannot switch its position until your next End Phase. During the End Phase of the turn you used its effect; you must pay Life Points equal to the level of the summoned monster x300. Both players can only activate the effect of "Stare of Stone" once per duel.

NOTE: So after looking through these cards, you really understand how these 3 cards work. Incarnate revolved more around Medusa (because I originally made a whole deck out of this) but included the other summoning clause to make somewhat generic or side-deckable in a DARK deck (like Dark Worlds). Stare is a major staple. It freezes and stalls an opponent's monster for a turn which can come in VERY handy sometimes. I really had fun making these cards since I love all different kinds of myths (Norse, Egyptian, etc.) but most importantly Greek=)
Huh? There's no EARTH!

Is that it? Besides the name?

Yo, Tokens can't be used for Xyz Summoning.

If I were to make an EARTH Monster, this is what it would be:
oiacs9.jpg

LORE:

When an opponent's monster attacks a "Terminion" Monster you control: you can switch its attack target to this card.  Any monster that battles with this card is Banished after Damage Calculation.
In the OCG, you do not capitalize "banished" nor "damage calculation" unless it is at the start of a sentence.

OCG: Always capitalize Deck and Graveyard. If "Freth, Divine Shadowraith" is a monster, what is his ATK, DEF, Level, Attribute and Type?

@Thorgrim: In card text, when you refer to attack points, you use "ATK" and not "attack".

 Thanks fro the OCG help.

Aix:  If you would allow it, I will add this card to my entry:

No. I was just joking about an EARTH guy. You can't.

 • 2 weeks later...

First place will go to Loyalist, his cards are playable though borderline OPed. It's too easy to get all three on the field, but they don't really do anything afterwards. However, they are quite the formidable Rank 3 engine, even if Voltic doesn't allow for Xyz Summoning. Good job.

Second Place will go to PaladinCards. They are rather bland and not nearly powerful enough, but unfortunately there is no better competition here.

Third Place goes to John. I dunno what got into you, but these cards are really bad. The Level 9 is too weak for a Level 9 Synchro. Why would I run a random Level 5 monster? And the Quickplay has a drawback for a really mediocre effect, it's just random hate on Lyla.

Thorgrimz, Freth is too small to see and you shouldn't be referring to other custom cards you make outside of the contest anyway. You randomly focus on banishing your cards and so you won't be able to summon that dragon guy. The cards are too weak and don't synergize well anyway.
