[spoiler=Chapter 1 - The Lost Pokemon]

I was never thought of as normal. I was always bullied and robbed. I wanted to be a Pokemon Champion, but my small Pokemon would always lose to those of the other boys. One day, I lost my absolute favourite thing. An Elekid. That's all it was. It was a weak Pokemon, nothing that a boy would die for, but I loved it. It was my first Pokemon. All of the other kids had strong Pokemon like Tepig or Timburr. Not me. All I had was that Elekid. I still remember the boy who took it...
-----
"Sandshrew use dig!" the foes Sandshrew buried itself into the ground.
"Elekid!" I shouted. "You can do it! Use thunder shock on the ground!" Elekid listened to me, and did as it was told. No use. We weren't very strong. Certainly not strong enough to take on a Pokemon like Sandshrew. The Sandshrew burst out of the ground, knocking Elekid back towards my opponent. "Now Sandshrew!" my opponent ordered. "Use fury swipes!" but the attack didn't hit Elekid. It hit me. As I woke up, I realised something. I was alone. My Poke Ball was gone. "Elekid, where did your Poke Ball go?" I asked. But nobody was there. Elekid was gone.
-----
To this day, I never knew why that trainer wanted my Elekid. He was weak. Only a trainer like me would ever want him. Maybe the trainer just wanted to upset me... I swore that day that I would find the trainer that took my Elekid, and get my Pokemon back, but I new that it wouldn't happen. I sighed. If only there was some sort of hope... I walked downstairs and was greated by my mother. "Good morning, son. You know, Professor Juniper wants you to see her over in Aspertia City" she said.
"She's not back yet?" I asked.
"Nope." my mother replied. "She has sent some of her assistants down here to take you there. Go, go, go!"

I ran out of the house to find a boat waiting for me. That's where Juniper's assistants were. They greeted me, and I got on the boat. We sped off. "Your Elekid was stolen!?" one of the assistants asked in shock. "Yes." I replied. He was showing me his Pokemon. He had a Machoke, Gigalith, and an Electabuzz, which reminded me of my Elekid. Another assistant walked over to us. "We're nearly there." he said. The boat shook. Splash. And again. Splash. And again. SPLASH! A huge water Pokemon, a Sharpedo, lept over the ship. "Machoke use focus punch!" an assistant shouted. The Sharpedo fell back into the water. "That was clo-" the Sharpedo came back up and used a powerful water type move, knocking out Machoke. We all fell to the floor. Nobody could get up. Eventually, I did. Everybody else was still on the floor.
-----
'What am I going to do without my Elekid?' I thought. I was nothing without it. I went back home and cried in my bedroom. The next few days, my mother tried everything to calm me down. But nothing would work. She thought that I would get over it when I got older, but I knew that I never would. Elekid was my best friend. My mother repeatedly told me that I could get a new Pokemon, but I didn't want a new Pokemon. I never wanted to touch a Pokemon again, unless it was my Elekid.
-----
A Poke Ball rolled on the ground near me. I had sworn never to use a Pokemon again, but this was an emergency. On the other hand, I didn't want to use a Pokemon other than Elekid. I was confused. I didn't know what to do. I tried to think for a second, but it turned out that I didn't have a second. Another water type attack came my way. I dodged it. Without realizing it was even in my hand, I launched the Poke Ball towards Sharpedo. Electabuzz was released ready for battle. Of all the Pokemon! Sad memories flooded back into my mind. I had to face my fears to win this battle. It was the only way to save everybody. I thought back to my time with Elekid, remembering it's moves. For the first time in 4 years, I shouted an order out to a Pokemon. This time around it was a very different Pokemon. "Electabuzz! Use thunder shock!!!". Electabuzz followed the order and zapped Sharpedo. I thought for a second. Couldn't Electabuzz use better moves than Elekid? "Electabuzz, use thunderbolt!" This time, Electabuzz surrounded itself with Electrical energy, and then blasted it towards the wild Sharpedo. That would show him! Sharpedo jumped back into the water, injured after the battle. "Electabuzz, return!" I commanded.

The other guards got up. "That was amazing!" exclaimed the owner of the Electabuzz. I had forgotten how much fun battling with Pokemon was. I had also forgotten how much I had missed my Pokemon...

Originally, I had wanted to go straight to where Juniper was staying, but I didn't. I spent a lot of time staying in the boat, even though we had already alived. I needed time to think the last few hours over.
-----
I ran to Route 1 the next morning. I cried more. I was so sad. Then the Lillipup came. He licked me as if to say everything would be alright. I started to believe him. We played for hours. There were many times when he would remind me of Elekid, but I soon forgot and went back to playing. I would never truly forget, but at least I was a little happy.
We played for months, every day. Nothing could ruin it.
-----
I eventually decided to go and see Juniper. "Hi!" she said happily. "I bet you want to know why I called you here."
"You guessed it." I replied.
"Ok then..." she said mysteriously. "I want you to get back into Pokemon battling!"
