Ben 10 "Omnitrix" cards

Ok, this is actually my first post in this forum and I was hoping to share my ideas on turning Ben 10 cartoons into cards. For now, I only started on the first original series, which includes only 10 aliens.

Here goes;
1) Omnitrix Four Arms

Description: You cannot control other "Omnitrix" monsters when this card is on your field. This card cannot be destroyed by battle and is destroyed during your Standby Phase. Once per turn, you can destroy 1 monster with ATK less than the ATK of this card.

2) Omnitrix Diamond Head

4) Omnitrix Grey Matter

mxAeivA.jpg

Description: You cannot control other "Omnitrix" monsters when this card is on your field. Your opponent cannot target this face-up card for an attack. Once per turn, you can take control of 1 Machine or Beast-Type monster your opponent control and equip it with this card. You cannot activate this card while it is equipped. Destroy this card when the equipped monster is destroyed.

5) Omnitrix Heat Blast

8Bt660R.jpg

Description: You cannot control other "Omnitrix" monsters when this card is on your field. This card is destroyed during your Standby Phase. When this card is destroyed by battle, you can halve the ATK of the monster that attacked this card or inflict 800 damage to your opponent.

6) Omnitrix Rip Jaws

eW4jxuG.jpg

7) Omnitrix Stink Fly

NEAmpxu.jpg

Description: You cannot control other "Omnitrix" monsters when this card is on your field. This card cannot be targeted by card effects and is destroyed during your Standby Phase. This card can attack your opponent directly.

 Omnitrix Up Grade

hQLzaDc.jpg

Description: You cannot control other "Omnitrix" monsters when this card is on your field. This card is destroyed during your Standby Phase. Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 "Machine Token" (Machine-Type/EARTH/Level 1) and its ATK is 300 x the number of cards on the field. You can Tribute a Machine-Type Monster on your field; This card gains ATK and DEF of the Tributed monster until your End Phase.

9) Omnitrix Wild Mutt

5NRk9WI.jpg

Description: You cannot control other "Omnitrix" monsters when this card is on your field. This card is destroyed during your Standby Phase. Once per turn, you can flip 1 face-down monster on your opponent's field without applying its effects.

10) Omnitrix XL R8

Iq1KPdr.jpg

Description: You cannot control other "Omnitrix" monsters when this card is on your field. This card is destroyed during your Standby Phase. You can banish this card during your turn and return it to the field during your opponent's Battle Phase with its ATK becomes 2000.

As seen in the series animation, only one of these aliens or monsters would come out to fight at a time. Hence, each of these monsters have an effect of 'You cannot control other "Omnitrix" monsters when this card is on your field.' These aliens also have time limits of how long it is transformed, therefore each monsters except "Omnitrix Grey Matter" include the effect of 'This card is destroyed during your Standby Phase.'. This means that these monsters can only be performed for 2 turns at most. "Omnitrix Grey Matter" is an exceptional since I figured this alien appears the longest period in the tv series and the fact that most of the time, this alien stays longer before transforming back to Ben.

1) Hidden Power of Omnitrix

Rw0yCOR.jpg

Description: When you control no monsters on the field: Pay 1000 Life Points; Special Summon 3 "Omnitrix" monsters from your Deck but their effects are negated until your End Phase. During the End Phase the turn you activate this card, return all "Omnitrix" monsters on your field to your Hand until you control only 1 "Omnitrix" monster.

2) Master Control

m7zGk7D.jpg

Description:Discard 1 Monster, Spell and Trap card from your hand; Shuffle all "Omnitrix" monsters from your Graveyard to your Deck. All "Omnitrix" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by its own effects. During either player's turn, you can pay 500 Life points to return 1 "Omnitrix" monster you control to your Hand: Special Summon 1 "Omnitrix" monster from your Deck with different name to your field. Destroy this card during your 3rd Standby Phase after this card's activation.

3) Omnitrix Activate

6aAVbiY.jpg

Description:When you activate this card, you can return up to 3 "Omnitrix" monsters from your Graveyard to your Hand. During your End Phase, if there no "Omnitrix" monster on your field you can Special Summon 1 "Omnitrix" monster from your Hand. Increase the ATK of all "Omnitrix" monsters you control by 200.

4) Omnitrix Malfunction

t4Ewdqq.jpg

Description:Once per turn, you can return 1 "Omnitrix" monster you control to your Hand. You can either;

1) Draw cards until you pick up an "Omnitrix" monster and Special Summon it to the field; Send all other drawn cards to the Graveyard
2) Select and Special Summon 1 "Omnitrix Grey Matter" from your Deck to the field.

5) Omnitrix Ready

nHT9fAt.jpg

Description:Target 2 "Omnitrix" monsters in your Graveyard and return them to your Hand. If you control a "Omnitrix" monster when this card is activated, you can shuffle this card to your Deck instead of sending it to the Graveyard.

6) Omnitrix Selection

awz7s1q.jpg

Description:Discard a number of cards from your Hand. For each card you discard; Target 2 "Omnitrix" monsters from your Deck and add them to your Hand. If you control a "Omnitrix" monster when this card is activated, you can shuffle this card to your Deck instead of sending it to the Graveyard.

Almost all the Spell cards have an effect of returning the "Omnitrix" monsters to hand in order to balance their destroyed effects. Since I figured these aliens won't stay long on the field and only one of them can stay at a time, why not focusing on 'swarming' the hand. Due to hand limits, I figured players wont use these cards many times unless combined with other cards.

1) Bring It On!

GgHsRAE.jpg

Description:Target an "Omnitrix Four Arm" monster you control; equip this card to that target. It gains 1000 ATK and it will not be destroyed by its own effect. On your 2nd Standby Phase after this card's activation, destroy both this card and the equipped monster.

2) Burning Hand

l1zAGK5.jpg

Description:Can only be activated if you control a face-up "Omnitrix Heat Blast". Destroy 1 monster on the field and inflict damage to your opponent equal to half of the destroyed monster's ATK.

3) Shooting Diamond

7ibKiBY.jpg

Description:Can only be activated if you control a face-up "Omnitrix Diamond Head"; Decrease the ATK of all face-up monsters your opponent control by 1000 until your End Phase.

4) Speed Dash

DuTdunM.jpg

Description:Can only be activated if you control a face-up "Omnitrix XL R8"; Banish it and destroy 3 Spell/Trap cards on the field: Return this card to the field in face-up Defense position during your opponent's Battle Phase.

Each Traps can only be used for a specific "Omnitrix" monster. I plan on creating general Traps that can be used on any monsters.

I think 2000 is a bit high for a Level 4 effect monster, otherwise a good start. I do think that having the cards destroy themselves during the Standby Phase is a bit too much of a blowback effect. First, all of these cards are Level 4 or lower, meaning they're supposed to be easy to Field. Second, by default Ben can stay transformed by 10 minutes before timing out for 10 minutes. But since involving a timer would be  a bit nuts, I think it should be changed to 3-5 turns. This will give you more time to bring out any higher-level aliens you might make.

I would suggest changing Greymatter to 'Wind' because that's closest to Mind, and he's one of the smartest creatures in the galaxy. I try to avoid Light and Dark-Types for Level 4 and lower monster as they are Tier-1 monsters, so I would have Upgrade be Earth or Water-Type (he flows), and XLR8 would be another Wind-Type for his speed. For Ghostfreak, maybe Water, although Dark suits him so much I'm willing to make an exception for him.

Your Spell Cards do have a lot of 'return to the Deck' effects, but what happens if your monsters get banished instead of destroyed? Also, there are many ways in which Trap Cards are more vulnerable to negation than Spell Cards. Perhaps you could change technique-driven ones to Spells.

Do you plan on restricting the set to Ben's aliens, or will you also include Ben, Gwen, Kevin, and Grampa Max? I guess the real question here is: where do you stop? There are over 1 million aliens in the Omnimatrix, after all. Although most are not known, it's still overwhelming.

Yeah, I think 2000 is too much for a Level 4 monster. As for the timer, I think 3-5 turns seems a long time since no more than 1 omnitrix monster can exist on the field. Plus i dont really think its drawback is too much, considering most of these monsters have great effects to par with its destroyed effects. And its probably my fault for not mentioning my plan for this set of cards, which is to focus more on card effects that relies them to be in graveyard. I plan on doing several other high level omnitrix monsters to be able to special summon by having other omnitrix monsters to be in the graveyard.

This is related with the Ben 10 series where the aliens in alien force series practically exist by 'removing' the original aliens from the omintrix. Though they are exist in the omnitrix but most of them rarely appear during and after the alien force series. So technically its like the alien force aliens 'replace' the original ones.

I would follow your advice for the attributes since i myself didnt quite sure what to put.

Only 1 spell that really relies on monsters to be in graveyard in order to activate it, which is 'Omnitrix Ready'. The rests are optional and still can be activated if no monsters in graveyard.

I actually dont know what to put for the traps, so i made the technique-driven ones for it. This is similar to certain 'Elemental HERO' support cards which exist in the form of traps and relies a specific elemental heroes. Though I will try to create other kinds of traps.

I'm restricting to only alien characters, so humans will not be included. Though there may be human character in certain spell/trap cards, but they're just for illustrations only. Similar to 'Change of Heart' card where the angel in the card's illustration doesnt actually exist as monster card.

It's not that the Alien Force or Ultimate Alien archetypes replace the ones from the original series, or even supercede them in power, as Ben has been shown to use old ones from time to time as well -- he especially uses older ones in Omniverse, together with all-new ones. The issue seems to be that the Omnitrix or Ultimatrix give him access to one 'Playlist' of monsters at a time, and each playlist seems to consist of a set of 10 monsters, plus any Ben adds by using Collection Mode. Then, of course, there are the Ultimate Aliens that Ben only has with the unstable Ultimatrix he got from Albido.

You could have a Spell Card based on the "Master Control" command, allowing you to switch an alien on your Field with one of the same Level that you have in your hand in the same phase, but restricting it so you can't change back to the original alien at least until the following phase. That's sort of like the Requip effect I set Erza up with, except I made each of her major armours into an Equip Spell.

Ben has never been shown to have an Anodite archetype, which is strange because he could easily ask Gwen for one. he also doesn't have Osmosean, despite having Kevin on his team for so long. There are quite a few half-aliens to consider making into cards, unless this is just Omnitrix aliens.

Oh, you could have Kevin's car as an equip card (heh).

Here are my new releases for my Ben 10 Yugioh cards. Also I made a minor change to "Omnitrix Malfunction" Spell card by turning it to Continuous Spell (previously Normal Spell) in order to match up with my new releases. I change it in my 1st post of this topic.
1) Omnitrix Diamond Matter

iLrghNm.jpg

Description:"Omnitrix Grey Matter" + "Omnitrix Diamond Head"

You cannot control other "Omnitrix" monsters when this card is on your field. This card cannot be targeted for attacks and is destroyed during your Standby Phase. Once per turn, you can decrease the ATK of one of your opponent's monster by 700.

2) Omnitrix Heat Jaws

WqZ1gwq.jpg

Description:"Omnitrix Heat Blast" + "Omnitrix Rip Jaws"

You cannot control other "Omnitrix" monsters when this card is on your field. This card is destroyed during your Standby Phase. Once per turn, you can select and activate one of the following effects;
1) Treat the attribute of this card as FIRE and increase its ATK by 2000.
2) Treat the attribute of this card as WATER and increase its DEF by 2000.

3) Omnitrix Stink Arms

LHyIqMR.jpg

Description:"Omnitrix Four Arms" + "Omnitrix Stink Fly"
You cannot control other "Omnitrix" monsters when this card is on your field. This card cannot be destroyed by battle and is destroyed during your Standby Phase. This card can attack your opponent directly.

1) Cross Fusion Mode

QhrQNYj.jpg

Description:You can only activate this card when you have "Omnitrix Malfunction" on your field. Once per turn, you can Special Summon any Fusion monsters that has "Omnitrix" in its name by sending the Fusion Material monsters from your Hand to the Graveyard. If "Omnitrix Malfunction" is sent to the Graveyard, destroy this card.

1) Master Control Mode

fdqbx8f.jpg

Description:You can only activate this card when there is "Omnitrix Malfunction" on your field. During either player's turn, you can pay 500 Life Points to return 1 "Omnitrix" monster you control to your Deck: Special Summon 1 "Omnitrix" monster from your Deck with different name to your field. If "Omnitrix Malfunction" is sent to the Graveyard, destroy this card.
I thought I'd start with fusion cards of the 'Omnitrix" monsters. Technically, all except (or perhaps) "Omnitrix Heat Jaws" are weaker than one of their Fusion Material monster. Based on the series and Ben10wiki, these fusion aliens are quite weak and thats why I combine the effects of their Fusion Material monsters.

"Cross Fusion Mode" Spell card is made to further support the easiness to summon the Fusion monsters. In the series, the fusion aliens are accessible when Omnitrix is malfunction. So I made the "Cross Fusion Mode" card to be dependant on "Omnitrix Malfunction" Spell card (which is why I changed it to Continuous).

Then I remember that the first time master control was accessed in the series, the Omnitrix kind of get malfunctioned due to Ben tampered with it (unlike the master control accessed by Azmuth). So I also decided to make another master control card, "Master Control Mode" which is also depends on "Omnitrix Malfunction".
