I just got S support with ChromxSumia, and I thought their conversations were both humorous and heartwarming. Sort of reminded me of Ed's proposal to Winry in FMA.

I have Stahl at B support with Miriel. I'm also trying to do a race between Gaius and Vaike to see who can win Maribelle's heart.

And my final mirage roster looks like this:

Avatar/Sully

Chrom/Olivia

Vaike/Maribelle

Lon'qu/Cherche

Gaius/Sumia

Stahl/Cordelia

Donnel/Lissa

Virion/Tharja

Ricken/Nowi

Gregor/Panne

Frederick/Miriel

Just need to train Panne and Miriel up so they pass on worthwhile skills, then once i have all the children characters i can stop dragging my feet and finish the storyline.

Aw jeez, Chapter 10. What with the cutscene right before it, the dialogue between the commander and his men... And that music.

Just got a support between Gregor and Lon'qu. Gregor matched Basilio in combat and was once candidate for the khan of Regna Ferox? Freaking sweet.

My Donnel is pretty darn good, yeah.

I just finished the last Champions of Yore DLC so now I've gotten DLC Marth, Roy, and Micaiah. The third one was particularly difficult because most all of the olden characters had their signature weapons, many of them with increased crit chance, so that was annoying.

A shame Ragnell hasn't aged well, though. Finite uses, it looks really beat up, and its ranged attack had Ike throwing the sword instead of firing sword beams.

Also, Maribelle is now awesome as a Valkyrie. Deals immense magic damage and doubles pretty much anything, yay.

I'm not 100% on it due to not knowing precise leveling mechanics, but I feel as if the game actually rewards you for earlier promotion, due to second seals/parents passing on skills/etc.

Feels a bit counterintuitive, given other Fire Emblems. Not bad, just... interesting.

I find this to be the case. Because the units gain EXP at a lower rate the more levels they've gained across all class changes.

I've only Had a character max their level of their beginning class. Or if i dont want to Second Seal 'em.

Actually Black, the reason why Donnel is so good is because he has the Aptitude Ability, which gives each stat a 20% more likely chance of being increased upon leveling up.

What does this have to do with anything...?

I know aptitude exists. I was saying that promotion at level 10 means you get skills faster, thus making the stats you didn't gain not matter because you then go into a second seal and never lost the time, just got the skills faster.

If promoting for skills, make sure your character can actually kill stuff.  Made that mistake with Maribelle my first playthrough.

Classed her to Valkyrie as soon as able, and classed her to Dark Flier as soon as able, due to not quite understanding how experience works.

She had stats like a LV 15 unit (had some bad growths), and gained experience like a LV 35 unit.

...I really didn't use her much after that on that playthrough.  Decided to never reclass directly into a promoted class after that, unless the character in question can already hold their own against lv 30 + units.

I'm probably one of the few people that never used Donnel. The guy is made to kick ass, but I'm still kinda mad about the whole "no soldier class" thing.

Anywho, I'm on my fourth playthrough. So far I've done every possible Chrom ship, and for my MU's I've done Lissa, Cordelia, Tiki, and Anna in that order. Owain shall forever remain as my favorite 2D son, galeforce is hilariously broken but makes up for the fact that pegasi knights get mostly rally skills, and Wyvern Riders are still fucking sweet.

Also this game is so easy to shit on with DLCs. It's almost a little embarrassing. My friend went through Lunatic and Lunatic+ with just Chrom/MU/Lucina/Morgan. Max stats and S rank support. lolwat vantage and hawkeye?

That + Lack of range in what he can reclass to killed him for me.

And ChromxAvatarF seems to be best, simply because you then give Lucina and Morgan Galeforce and Aether and wreck everything with just the 4 of them, before the kids themselves reclass at all.

You forget Ignis.

Fucking Ignis

But nah, he didn't have to rely on skills. Maxed out stats is enough to shit on everything. Skills only make the shitting a little easier, like lube. Or a tube that funnels the shit into projectiles.

For my first playthrough I'm not bothering with making the perfect units through reclassing, specific shipping to pass stuff on, etc. I just train everyone and ship who I want.

Speaking of that, d'awww at CordeliaxLon'qu.

Also, my Maribelle is a beast now that she's a Valkyrie. Deals in the 20s with magic and doubles most things, so fun.

20s and doubling isn't too much for some characters.

I finished the game in two sessions and played until 8 AM this morning before sleeping for two hours. I mean, got it Saturday, pulled an all-nighter, played it most of Sunday then from 8 PM to 8 AM.

My final team was Chrom, MU (Assassin), Morgan (Falcon Knight), Lucina, Donnel (Warrior), Panne (Wyvern Lord), Lissa (Sage), Yarne (Taguel) and Nowi (Manakete). You're usually allowed about fourteen characters in the final chapters, but I'd only take those nine and still tear through.

Donnel is only slightly weaker in caps, but mine had 85 HP, 45 strength and almost the rest at 35-40, so I kept using him.

He wasn't the strongest of the team, though.

Well I only just class changed her.

Though my best unit so far is my Frederick, who dealt 30s and doubled everything (and got Luna at least once a battle) before I even class changed him into a Wyvern Lord.

Now that I've beaten Chapter 12 (I play FE games fairly slowly) I'm just grinding eveyone up the last couple levels they need to reach 20 and class changing everyone (I do mean everyone--that can class change at least--including some DLC and SpotPass characters). Good thing I had about 70k gold stocked up by the time I beat the chapter, because that was a lot of Master Seal buying.

Interestingly, I'll be running a spotpass/DLC run after my current run.

I can only use Chrom, Avatar, and Outrealm characters.

I can't buy them from the logbook; I can only fight them / do a DLC run.

Classic, and no resetting if an Outrealm character die.

Don't know if I'll allow Lucina yet.

I may allow normal characters at the start to do my initial spotpass battles to build a team of... 6?  8?  That's just so Chrom and Avatar don't get overleveled.
