I want to pair Kellum x Maribelle.  Also, Lissa x Lon'qu sounds very good for a pairing.  I guess I am a victim of going for Henry x Tharja as well.  I got my Gaius to Assassin Rank, and he pretty much kills everyone he encounters.  Should I ship him with Panne?

Geez, I never knew that shipping would be so important to gameplay outside of Visual Novels, amirite?

also, currently, my Avatar is a Dark Knight class.  He already wrecks everyone.  But, once I get him to be able to use the Levin Sword, he will wreck even more people.

I literally JUST reclassed him from Grandmaster, which is basically the same thing, but with less movement. The Levin Sword is ungodly amounts of wreckage.

EDIT: Specifically, I reclassed him from Grandmaster into Dark Knight.

It's better than the "some nation is a dick and dragon(s) are back" plot of every other FE game ever, but not by terribly much (mostly because SPOILERS IN WHITE TEXT: It partways is)

To be fair, the reason I am neutral is that it mirrors the Akaneia and Jugdral Chronicles in many ways. It feels like the two were mashed together.

On top of that, it IS kinda that, all things considered. Just it follows the trend of the aforementioned series, with a bit of the Elibe Chronicles, as opposed to the Tellius Chronicles and Magvel's single game. The latter 2 sets had the dick nations, but they weren't focused on the dragons at all. I suppose you could fault them from wandering from the formula, but so did extremely popular games such as Majora's Mask, for the Zelda Timeline.

Another thing that bothers me is that it seems to tie together all the worlds, building on what Radiant Dawn (AKA Fire Emblem as written by a Yaoi Fangirl) began with Ike going on a journey at the end. I don't so much mind the fact that some of them link up, but there are so many issues, not the least of which is how the Fire Emblems are mostly set in different universes, at least as far as Magvel, Elibe, and I think one other are concerned. They all have different mythos and legends, but each and every one of them was proven true, with 1 exception. Ike in Radiant Dawn magically forgetting that the rest of the world was submerged.

The existence of Laguz on one continent, Manaketes and/or Taguel on others, along with Ashera/Yune/Ashunera and the Demon King just don't add up. It doesn't feel like the same universe at all. I suppose you could use the Outrealms as a reason, but it makes a plot hole because PRIAM/PARIS exists. This confirms that Ike, Marth, and Chrom are all in the same universe, albeit different times. Priam being a descendant of Ike means that both Naga and Ashunera exist and are worshiped as gods though Naga admitted she was nothing of the sort.

Another problem is that the Deadlords exist in Awakening. I guess you could call it series-transcending-group, but that feels a bit out there, considering they never appeared again after Jugdral, until a cult akin to the Loptous suddenly has reigns over them, which further implies the Loptous became the Grimleal, or something similar.

The existence of weapons like Valflame and Balmung in canon, not DLC/Random Find/Etc., points to this being in the same universe as Jugdral as well, leaving us with Medeus and Loptous existing in the same universe, and then Grima basically being a mix of the former two, especially Loptous. Again, I suppose it isn't impossible that both could happen, but... Don't you think this news would, y'know, spread? And Grima's kinda out of left field.

A lot of my complaints with the story and flavor is that it's TOO rehashed at times, and mixing universes has a good number of holes in it.

Haven't found this game yet.

Then again, I haven't really looked.  I'll get it eventually, I just hope it doesn't pull a Metroid Prime trilogy and shoot up in price.

Your biggest issue is that you can't find it. I got it last Thursday at Target, and it's been out since the 4th, and I still barely managed to get the last copy in stock for the week or w/e.

I preordered it from Gamestop in January. Since there isn't one in my area, they had to ship from their base (or whatever it's called) in TENESSEE. Took a week to get here, but man is it worth it.

Chrom x Sumia is practically canon, as the game forces it by Chapter 11.  All the other choices are just natural imo.  Tharja and Henry are, well, insane, Gregor is the closest to age as Nowi (as well as how he practically put his life on the line just to save her), and Gaius' character just naturally fits with Panne's character.

Replying to part of Black's comment about Ike, Marth, and Chrom being in the same universe: It's established early on Marth and Chrom are in the same universe, but I think Ike isn't from theirs. Paris may be a descendant of Ike, but remember Ike's end-game description, "Once he saw stability returned, Ike left on a journey to lands still unknown. He was never seen again." That leads me to believe Tellius is maybe on a different plane, but Ike somehow managed to travel to Marth/Chrom's land.

Oh, just read this from the wiki:

When the Avatar questions the identity of the "Hero of the Blue Flames", Chrom will reply that this title belonged to a legendary hero who traveled from another world.

Talking about gameplay again, from what I've seen my old trick of taking my powerful units and unequipping them so the enemy attacks them and they just soak up the damage making the enemies ignore my defenceless/near death units doesn't work anymore. :(

And Tree Branch is best sword, I've actually found it quite useful for guaranteeing a kill on weak enemies or weakening enemies so a lower leveled unit can take it out. I've also found a Ladle, which is the axe equivalent. A Log is the lance equivalent, legit, it's just a giant log that people somehow wield in one hand, it's hilarious.

OMG Basilio is Nick Fury.

*came to talk about gameplay*
*shipping thread*

It seems to have settled down eventually though

I'm kind of not sure on this Bonus Box thing. I can recruit old legendary Fire Emblem people or something? Is their a benefit to doing so or should I wait for the end game to do it?

How do I get money? Do I just find stuff on the ground and sell it? If so, what's the best place to farm? I'm mostly worried about my stuff breaking.

I'm not worried about eugenics and getting the best possible kids. I just paired my characters with whoever I though they'd be happiest with.

Edit: I'm on chapter 6. I don't care too much about spoilers.

Well, a heads up for the thread, I do care about spoilers.

You get bullion  from Risen fights that show up on the world map which can sell for varying amounts depending on the type. If you're on Normal, Reeking Boxes can summon them on the map for cheap and you can grind money that way, but on Hard and above they cost too much to grind money with.

If you're ever in need of level grinding, replay the free DLC mission over and over, it's great for exp (killing units grants 50 exp to unpromoted units, the boss moreso). There are also two villages you can get items from, as well as two sparkly bits that may hold items. I've gotten my fair share of equipment from my grinding in that mission and I haven't had to buy that much stuff.

One thing I'm glad is that they buffed healers' exp, though right now all three of my healers are at level 18 while the rest are at 11 and 12.

As for shipping, I think I'm going to do ChromxSumia, RobinxLissa, MaribellexRicken, and Lon'quxCordelia so far. I haven't thought of others yet. I was tempted to go RobinxNowi just because I like lolis, but I decided against it.
