Strider Tigerwolf
So lets go over what happened: Duel 1 vs. Merlantians - 0:1 Round 1: Completely overwhelmed with a "perfect" hand. Megalo x 2, 1 Leed, 1 Mouglacia and he went for the win. Round 2: Having no proper side against a good match up for me :( I was overwhelmed once more. Duel 2 vs. Lightsworn Lightray - 1:1 Round 1: I start off with a Tenki into Laquari and set Starlight, Warning, and Bottomless. Opponent opens 2 MSTs, goes back to back with Solar Recharges setting his Graveyard, Normal Summons Lumina attempting to Summon Lyla (discards Necro Guard), I warning. He Specials Lightray Diabolos, Gearfried, and JD for game Round 2: I start off again with Tenki -> Laquari, but this time I'm ready with a sided Mind Crush and Sentinel (teehee) along with Starlight in hand. Pass. Opponent Charges for fuel into Wulf, which I crush. He passes with no sets. I open up another Laquari, double poke for 3800, then Xyz into Tiger King, get a Tenki for Laquari #3 and pass. Opponent sets some backrow, passes. I poke for 2400, he scoops. Round 3: He starts off with a Lyla and 1 backrow, mills Necro Guard and Wulf for presence. I go MST on his only face-down (Torrential), then Tenki->Laquari and poke off the Lyla (trying to get rid of that honest if any). No honest, and doesn't Necro so I kill his Wulf with Murmillo...then set a Mind Crush and Crevice <u<. Opponent goes Reborn, targets Lyla, I chain Crevice call LIGHT and banish both Lyla and Wulf. He sets a face-down, passes. I topdeck Bestiari, set face-down and tag fuse into Gyzarus to pop only 1 card (Solar Recharge). With a lance in my hand, I'm confident and poke for 2400. He has nothing so he banishes Necro. I set the Lance AND Breakthrough Skill. Pass. Opponent sets 2 face-downs. Passes. I draw, and press 2400 again. He has nothing, I tag into Laquari x 2. Opponent torrentials, I lance 1 Laquari. Pass. Opponent sets 1 more backrow, ends turn. I draw into my 2nd Lance, press for 2100 and tag into Darius-to-Laquari and go for Tiger King Main Phase 2 into classic Tenki-> Laquari. Pass. Opponent draws. Scoops. Duel 3 vs. Royal Exodia - 2:1 Round 1: He does his thing, I do mine and get out Herklinos. Simple as that. Round 2: He does his thing first turn. Exodia for win. Round 3: I do my thing, he does his thing, I stop his Royal with Breakthrough Skill, he passes, I tag into Shock Master and call Spells for game. Duel 4 vs. Tele-Psychic - 3:1 Round 1: Scary stuff happens and I somehow wind up facing against both Barkion and Beast with backrow. I can't get out and take that first loss. Round 2: Back and forth, him using Serene to maintain his field while I keep killing his little people with Tenki Laquaries. Then I go Darius trying to go into Gyzarus with Besti in Graveyard, he reveals Gozen Match and I'm somewhat screwed. Pass. He draws, Passes. I draw into Sentinel, *grin*, and go into Pearl to run over his Cleric (he had no psychics in Graveyard for the effect thanks to Retiari). I beat him down with 2600 while protecting him with 2 lances, keeping the 3rd in case. Draw into MST and pop the Gozen, Summon Equeste and he goes Torrential. Tough choice....I lance Equeste going back into Glad Control. Attack into Darius for Tiger King. He can't escape my Laquari next turn and scoops. Round 3: Back and forth, back and forth...until 2400 ATK Laquaries (3 Tenki) proves too much. Duel 5: vs. PAWMAN STUN - 4:1 Round 1: I get the feeling I know what I was playing, and sure enough I was right. I conquer first match by removing backrow with backrow (MST + Tornado + Bestiari). Round 2: He gets the Masked Sorcerer and negs my counters one at a time while keeping my monsters off the board with CED. The +s he gains soon prove too much. Round 3: Agressive first match again, and I claw him down with Tiger King and Gyzarus. He scoops (tries to give me something so I could give him the match, and I decline so he drops out of the tournament). Duel 6: vs. Burn Control + Junk Beat - 5:1 Round 1: This guy was a friend of a friend of mine and she had played against him so...I was really excited to see what he was running that was so "controversial". He sets 1, then goes into Wave-Motion Cannon. I'm a bit stumbled facing Burn...so I remove his face-down with MST and then go Tenki-Laquari into Bestiari, clearing the field. Pass. He sets 1 face-down and 1 monster. I draw, set Reti in my hand and contact fuse into Gyzarus, popping ONLY the backrow. Turns out I called right by popping his Starlight. Attack his face-down (Nimble Momonga) and he sets 1 of them from his deck. I tag into two Laquaries for another Tenki->Laquari advancement. pass with Breakthrough Skill face-down. He sets another monster and ends. I draw and go into Laquari to beatdown his momonga, before killing his face-down Giant Germ. Laquari stays, and I set a CED. Pass. He goes Junk Synchron into Junk Warrior which goes into 4300 ATK. He tries to bash my laquari, but I CED back to the Extra. He passes with no face-downs. I draw into Darius, Summon, and beat him down. He can't recover from there. Round 2: I want to see this guys deck and hunger is starting to ravish me...so I play stupidly and loose with a Lava Golem knowing full well I could've gone Gyzarus. Round 3: After getting a taste of a burrito, I get back into gear and dominate popping all his backrow, negating all his monsters effects, and completely overwhelm him for my prize: a snack! :D With that, my score gets me into number 7 of 8. Top 8: Tenki Glads, 2 Merlantians, 3 Fire Fists, 1 ??? Vs. Merlantians - 1:2 (my journy ended there) Round 1: Quite different from my first one. he goes into Abyssgaio, paired up with a Megalo and sets...before beating me down for game. Round 2: Back and forth fight, but Crevice saved me from a demise from Salvage taking both Lindes away from him for good and then I go into Tenki->Laquari plays to push for game. Round 3: This was when my fuel was out. I made several missplays...and overextended trying to go into Shock Master only to fall into a Torrential Tribute. BUT I was happy because I got to top 8. So...what am I thinking? I'm going to keep the same deck for regionals, except it's the side that needs the following: -1 Fossil Dyna -1 Hoplomus -1 Penguin Soldier -2 Smashing Ground +3 Dimensional Fissure +2 Macro Cosmo and for the Extra Deck: -1 17 -1 39 -1 C39 -1 Zenmaines +1 Leviair +1 Maestroke +1 Blackship +1 Papiloperative Or...suggestions? Darj
+1~2 Fire Fist Bears maybe? I bet you already know how Tenki + Bear is an awesome combo. Bear might not be a Glad for your Contact Fusions and Chariots, but it can still make Sokos and can take Traps such as BTH. You could give it a try. -1 Duality +1 Judgment I believe you don't need Duality because not only it interferes with your tag outs and Gyzarus/Soko summons, but also you are running 4 deck thinners to make up for it. You could drop it for the Judgment that seems to be missing. -1 Dust Tornado You are running 4 anti-backrow cards + Bestiari. I know destroying your opponent's backrow ensures you succesful tag outs and Gyzarus summons for further destruction, but isn't it a bit too much? You could side the Dust Tornado and main an aforementioned Bear or a 2nd BTH/CotH, for instance.
Strider Tigerwolf
Dust Tornado is a definite keeper. It worked well setting up cards for me such as Breakthrough Skill/Chariot and is my 4th MST. Judgment is good...but Glad Beasts need their life span...and backrow removal takes care of that most of the time. Bear. I have one. Unless I have 2+, it doesn't work for me... TheKaitoKid
Neg a Utopia for a Maestroke? I don't see the purpose of having 2 Utopias and Maestroke makes a good utility counter.
Strider Tigerwolf
This is irl. I don't have a Maestroke...

Strider Tigerwolf
With the Bears, Tensen and Tenken DO test well. Without them, not so much :(
