DopeShizzy
In The City “Ah fu-” Skyy cried as a vicious hologram projection of a “Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning” tore its sword through his “Darklord Asmodeus”. The Black Luster Soldier then turned its sights on Skyy’s “Red Nova Dragon”, the only monster left on his side of the field. Skyy couldn’t believe he was about to lose, he had gone through his strategy perfectly, which rarely happened. He’d started the duel by just setting a monster on the field. Just like he wanted his opponent Summoned a monster and attacked, destroying his “Lonefire Blossom” and sending it to the Grave. During Skyy’s next turn a quick “Mystical Space Typhoon” made sure he wouldn’t be interrupted. He then activated the “Foolish Burial” in his hand, using it to send a “Spore” to the Graveyard. Next he Summoned “Junk Synchron” and using its effect Special Summoned the Spore in his Grave. Since a card was Summoned from the Grave that let him Summon “Doppelwarrior” from his hand. Then using Junk Synch and Doppel he Synchro Summoned “T.G. Hyper Librarian” and because he used Doppel he recieved 2 Level 1 Tokens. Using a Token and Spore he Synchro Summoned “Formula Synchron”. Skyy drew 2 cards because of Librarian and Formula’s effects then finally used Spore’s effect from the Graveyard. This allowed him to Banish Lonefire Blossom and Special Summon Spore from the Grave with its Level increased by the Banished monster’s Level. Using the last Token and his, now level 4 Spore, he Synchro Summoned “Ally of Justice Catastor”. Skyy drew a card from Librarian’s effect and then Synchro Summoned his ultimate monster: Shooting Quasar Dragon. The hologram of the monster descended from the night sky bathed in crystalline light. It Illuminated EnWhy City’s skyline and made sure the whole city knew he’d summoned the very same card Yusei had used so many years ago. He was assured a spot on TV, it wasn’t everyday a duelist Summoned such a rare and legendary card. He couldn’t wait for Kiwiya to see him on TV in all his glory, it would really make his bitch ex-girlfriend regret dumping him. Which is why when his unbeatable card was defeated, it messed up his momentum. “Shooting Star Dragon” soon met its end as well but then he got lucky and was able to Summon his other ultimate unbeatable card, Red Nova Dragon. But just like with everything else in his life, he failed. His world seemed to be in slow motion as Black Luster Soldier delivered the killing blow to his Red Nova Dragon and his Life Points hit 0. The attack made him loose control of his Duel Runner and soon the comforting wind slamming into him as he sped through the city abruptly stopped. He felt his stomach drop and then weightlessness but was only dimly aware that he was now in the air, his Duel Monster cards flying everywhere. To Skyy it felt like a dream, he was flying through the night of his beloved city, staring at the skyline. He was just starting to enjoy the feeling when his back crashed into concrete, hard. His momentum sent him skidding across the street tearing his expensive clothing, and exposing his tender flesh to the unforgiving pavement. Skyy’s helmet had flown off at some point and his top of the line Duel Runner, now devoid of its pilot, smashed into a building, sending screaming pedestrians scrambling out of the way. But all of this was background noise to Skyy, the exquisite symphony of agony now playing from every inch of his body took well deserved precedence. Turns out he did make it onto TV that night, footage of him being loaded into an ambulance was the minor story overshadowed by the news of his opponent destroying the legendary Shooting Quasar Dragon and Red Nova Dragon both in one duel. It was a few hours later that Skyy limped out of his private elevator and into his dark, lonely penthouse apartment. The million dollar place had breathtaking views of the city but Skyy’s eyes lingered on the pretty lights for only a second. His empty stomach rumbled but losing the Illegal Street Duel tonight meant he had no money to eat. He stripped off his tattered jacket and retrieved a bottle of coconut Ciroc liquor, Kiwiya’s favorite, from a cabinet in his kitchen area. He unscrewed the cap as he walked to a wall sized window, and without taking a glass or ice or even a chaser, he put the bottle to his lips and began gulping it down. The bitter alcohol burned as it went down into his chest and finally he pulled the bottle away, coughing at the harsh burn in his chest. The burn lasted only a second and he slid into a chair that faced the window as the comforting warmth of the alcohol spread through him. He’d been drinking a lot more since Kiwiya left him, which was probably dangerous considering the truck load of anti-depressants he was on. He pulled his deck from his pocket and looked at the cards, the crash had been rather harsh on his deck. Specks of dirt from the street stuck to the holographic parts of some cards, while others had chipped corners, dented edges and even small tears. Skyy loved his cards, that’s probably why even though “Darklord Asmodeus” didn’t fit in his deck at all, he still kept it in. He couldn’t bare to duel without all his favorite cards, they were all he had left. Although born to rich, influential scientist parents, Skyy’s life had been marred with turmoil. The frequent, and most times extreme, fighting of his parents when he had been just a child had left him with a frail, and scarred psyche. At first Skyy didn’t even notice his problems, which is why when it hit him, it destroyed him. About 4 years ago, Skyy had been a Dueling prodigy and right out of High School was picked up by the top Dueling Academy in the country. At that time his confidence and ego were overblown and looking back on it (something he loathed doing) he couldn’t believe what a fucking prick he had been. His main aim had been getting pussy and proving how better than everyone he was. It was obvious to him now why he acted that way, he felt inferior to everyone. It was then that he was diagnosed with, what doctors call, “treatment resistant depression”. It was then that the first girl he’d ever loved revealed she’d been cheating on him with two other guys (that fucking whore), he’d pathetically begged for her back and she’d sent all the messages around in a final vicious act. It seemed to ruin his popular reputation, plus he began failing all his classes and for the first time in his life he lost a duel. His own extended family then betrayed him, his cousin jumped him and he was forced into a one on seven duel. He never stood a chance. To his surprise, when his extended family found out, they fully blamed Skyy for what happened. They believed his cousin over him and in retaliation he went to war with all of them. Only his parents stood by his side, but they were gone now. A few months ago he lost the only person left in his life. He’d always been good with girls, easily getting them naked but it turned out his girlfriend, Kiwiya, was cheating on him. When he questioned her, she dumped him, and of course like a pussy he begged for her back. He hadn’t left his house (or bed) in months, except for tonight, and it ended with him losing his rarest cards. Illegal Street Duels had become extremely popular, especially since the government had taken most of the rare cards. Illegal Street Duels, were extremely dangerous duels on Duel Runners that took place at night on the main streets of EnWhy City instead of on a closed course. Duelists betted cash money and their rarest cards, it became known as the “Underground”. A place where most of the duelists had been branded with the criminal mark and duels were gritty, they were real. The Pro League may be where you got rich and famous but it was a much less dangerous form of dueling. Most popular duelists rose through the ranks of the underground before they broke into the Pro scene and became rich and famous-it had a one in a billion chance of happening but it was what everyone dreamed of. The world was controlled by only a few rich people, and they held all the best cards and so they always won, assuring that the poor never rose up. The Underground was the only place to score rare cards because obtaining them legally was next to impossible. In these illegal duels, duelists put up money and their rarest cards, winning meant respect, losing meant you faded into obscurity. And at only 21 years old, Skyy had faded into obscurity. He was so tired of worrying about the future, he was tired of struggling while corrupt people lived wealthy care free lives. He was tired of living a life filled with Still holding the bottle of Ciroc, Skyy reached under his expensive sofa where he kept a black Jericho 941 pistol. He put the bottle down so he could slide the magazine into the pistol, then pulled the slide back loading a bullet into the chamber. Skyy put the bottle of alcohol back to his lips and gulped a few more mouth fulls down, before he put the gun to his temple. He’d attempted suicide many times before but could never bring himself to do it. A simple pull of his index finger would end his pain, he got up and looked into the mirror in his living room. “Pull it you fucking pussy, do it. Who’s gonna miss you? Do it.” But he couldn’t, he was scared. He screamed in frustration and threw the gun at the mirror he was facing. Skyy watched his image shatter into pieces before he closed his eyes and felt hot tears slide down his face. His depression and pain had grown so much over the last four years that it was almost like it was a living, breathing thing. It was an endless well of darkness inside of him, filled with sadness, fear, rage and despair. Slowly Skyy opened his eyes and saw the gun on the floor, but...the mirror wasn’t shattered. He slowly approached his reflection and saw his eyes had turned from dark brown to a beautiful dark violet color. “What the fuck,” Skyy whispered as he touched the mirror. His purple eyed reflection spoke to him. This is the form of your endless well of darkness, it’s your evil soul. In the center of the mirror was a duel monster card Skyy had never seen before but he immediately knew what it was. This was the manifestation of his unbearable, infinitely deep pain and using it he would make the unfair world suffer just as he had. Just like the name of the card, he would bring the world to ashes.
