Shradow
Area 11 formed towards the end of 2010 in Nottingham where the members first met, and is currently based in Bristol, England. They named the band after the name for Japan in the anime Code Geass, and fans of the band have come to be collectively known as 'Elevens'. They have written songs based on the storylines of Japanese animated productions such as Code Geass, Death Note, Gurren Lagann, Naruto, Elfen Lied, Bakuman, and others. They have also been known to write songs around video games, such as the DOTA 2 Beta Key and Minecraft Christmas songs. They are closely associated with the Yogscast, with parts of the Area 11 song "Vectors" being used as the outro music for Yogscast videos. Sparkles* and Parvis are both employed by the Yogscast as audio/video producers, and the band is signed to the Yogscast Studios record label. You can find their YouTube channel here. The band have dubbed their unique genre and style music 'Gaijin-Rock', which translates from Japanese to English as 'foreign-rock'. Their songs are based around Western rock and pop traditions, however they take influence from East Asian culture. With the release of their new album, All the Lights in the Sky, I thought I'd make another topic about this awesome band, since the last one didn't get much attention. Makο
... Why did I not know these people exist? *Google awaaaaaaay* I went and demo'd some of their songs on iTunes. Normally, that sort of voice bugs me for some reason. Dunno why, but it does. However, fittingly enough, I think it will end up like Kaidoku Funou. I start off not liking it, but it grows on me. Eventually, I really like it. Gonna buy the first chance I get.
Shradow
Admittedly I wasn't thrilled about the singing at first, but I do like it quite a lot now. Probably I just wasn't use to the sound of a British singer.
Makο
Most likely. Most, if not all of the music (that I can understand) I listen to is American.
Shradow
Ah, forgot to post this earlier, but they've got a teaser for their next music video, so that's neat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRvSVZpjKwc
The Amazing Avian
I am ashamed I had not heard of this band before.
Shradow
Ah, they're so silly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFQ3fV3tlpA Another reason I like them is they're entertaining outside their music.
