Going out soon, all votes so far are registered.

Not closing yet because although things look decided, it might not be over yet, some people may wish to use some skills or items or weapons or something, and some people are left to post/attack. And just a reminder to some people that although you can abstain/not attack anyone, you do have to post in the thread at least every other day phase. If you fail two days in a row, you get a warning. Fail to post three day phases in a row OR two phases in a row twice; you get elminated, no questions asked.

Just thought it might be worth a reminder.

Alright, times up.

As the sun set, Rogue Zero fled across the riverbanks, desperately fighting against the current to get away from the mob chasing him, that had already wounded him badly. Just as he approached the end of the river and looked to have reached safety, another Tribute sprung out of nowhere, smashing a final, decisive blow to the head. Rogue's body collapsed instantly, and fell backwards into the shallow edge of the river, the water washing away the blood...

The cannon fires in the distance, forcing the gathering Tributes to flee before examining the body. However, the hologram appearing in the dusk sky would confirm whether their Career hunt would be successful or not...

You are Marvel.

Career Tribute
A charming, handsome and charismatic young man, who also just so happens to be very talented with a sword or spear, having like other children from Districts 1 and 2 spent months training for the Games anticipating... yearning for competition, instead of dreading being selected as Tribute. You want the fame, you want the glory, and you will let no-one stand in your way of attaining it. No-one.
Ooh look at that.

Night Phase now, thread will probably be closed until sometime tomorrow afternoon. You will get a PM giving the exact time, because we are (hopefully) looking at coming back to a bonus round! Where items could be won! Because we the Capitol are generous to you hard suffering Tributes.

Oh, and another thing, the Night Phase isn't just 'Careers decide who they want to hunt' time. Some of you have certain... I dunno, lets call them abilities, and some of them are kinda powerful, and might prove useful to activate sometime... But hey if you want to wait til it's too late and you're hanging upside down from a tree with a spear.... *censored*

The dull morning light breaks across the arena. It's a bitterly cold and gray day today, although the sky as the sun makes a feeble attempt to rise has a dirty red tint to it....

As usual, the Tributes are woken by cannon fire, which can only mean another death in the Night.
It seems the Careers had bloody revenge in mind last night as they targeted King of Games, who had started the attacks on Rogue Zero and openly mocked them, to die again.

Peeta's body is found tied upside down against a tree, and has clearly been tortured. The details are far too graphic to describe here, but given the state of his once handsome face, it's gonna take more than a few chest compressions to bring him back this time.

peeta-m.jpg

Now might be a good to emphasise (again) the importance of skills. Rogue Zero had, to be honest, potentially one of the most powerful skills in the Games. King could have, if he'd realised that saying...

The important thing is Cherz and I are confirmed "innocents" and any attack against us is declaring yourself a Career Tribute.

... might incur some wrath by effectively mooning the tributes, used a skill that would have saved himself. But he didn't. And now he's dead.

Just saying.
Anyway, enough of this grizzly, hate driven business. As promised, we're having a bonus round.

In the wake of Rogue Zero/Marvel's death, the rich ladies of the Capitol are livid! Their favourite little boy has been killed by some dirty uncivilized peasants from the slums! This will not stand for these well-heeled admirers! Thus, they have bought two gifts to be won. A pair of ornate silver daggers: to avenge the fall of their favourite Tribute, and a rare and valuable vial of crystal liquid; in the hopes that someone might bring him back...

Use your PM's to answer the following question. The first TEAM to do so will get their pick of the two items. The second TEAM will get the other. (They will be given to whoever answered for them to carry, although remember items can be passed between partners if you'd rather they carried it.)

Day 4 of the Games is underway, and my audiences want action! However today's terrain as we leave the riverbanks might encourage it. The Tributes now find themselves in steep and rocky hillside with only a few trees and hard ground, harder to track on, and with plenty of caves to hide in; the Rocklands.

wdu3.jpg

This terrain is treacherous, so watch your step...

Happy Hunger Games. Phase will last about 30 hours (late Friday my time, subject to change)
My history is long and has turned me into a classic. Even in Antiquity, people used and gave me away for all kinds of occasions. As a former favourite of the wealthy in the 17th century, I am made of oils and plants and can both mask and spread, irritate and delight.
Games are not in an official night phase. It has been paused will the gamesmasters work through a problem (ahem... Of my making)

At work on my phone right now. Please wait until an announcement is made.

Sorry about this.

....

Right you lot. We're back and we're sorted out, and I'm very angry gamesmaster. Cuz I'm racking up a huge phone bill trying to sort this out only to watch... Well what am I watching? Not a lot.

Day phase is back on, get voting. You do not want to be the last to vote today.

No, really, you really, really don't want to be last to declare an attack today...

Pssst Cinna here from the Capitol... While I was working on a costume, I overheard a conversation between the Games staff...

There's something going on in the Rocklands. Something about not coming late today.

They also said that staying away and not doing anything will be counted as "being late".

The people at the Capitol don't like that... Hurry up and make your contribution!

Nearly 48 hours into Day 4...

I ain't waiting much longer...

It'll be bad if you post late. It'll be worse if you don't post at all...

ps: I just realised this isn't Claudius Templesmith, it's Seneca Crane. Whoops. Great beard though :D

And... researching this guy I just read a spoiler for Catching Fire. Damn.

A Tribute will pay for that... *reloads firelauncher*

Seneca Crane looks up at his computer monitor with a strained expression, surveying the inactive rocklands...

"Okay, that's it! I've had enough of this. If they won't make something happen, I will! Assistant, you remember what that little kid was setting up last night? Get me the manual controls over there...."

Meanwhile in the Rocklands, four Tributes assault SerooChan one after the other. Desperately she tries to flee and cry for help before tripping and falling, blood splattering against the rocks. The Tributes responsible are unflinching at the sound of the cannon in the distance, moving into examine the body. To finish it off with a few more fatal head blows.... but suddenly, a second cannon shot makes all of them jump. Another death in quick succession?! Alarmed, they start putting themselves as far away from the body as they can and descend from the hillside in seperate directions, leaving the Rocklands...

However... one other Tribute has already left the area, to get far away from the trap he set up the previous night, and that someone is about to trigger. There will be one more death today...

The straggling Tributes are all lost in the Rocklands, hiding by themselves but unbeknowst to each other, they are quite close together. They too are unpreturbed by the regular cannon. However the second one makes them leap too! Something's wrong! Feeling unsafe, they all flee away from the sound of the cannonfire. They don't know why, byut they feel that they must get off the mountain.

Unfortunately for one of the five, they hear the 'bleep, bleep, bleeeeeeep' of the trap too late, they have already stepped on it. For one Tribute there is a horrible second of realisation, of knowing they are about to die, before the planted landmine dug up by a Tribute from the Coruncopia starting podiums and planted on this path explodes, blowing them to bits. Unlike most Tributes, they are lucky in that death is instant.

A third cannon fires...

Later that night, the anthem plays, and reveals the three Tributes. The first is of SeeroChan, as expected. The second is of Rin-Chan, who was found on the edge of the Arena; starved... lonely... and lost. The third....

You are Clove.

Career Tribute (District 2)
A sadistic and merciless Career Tribute who excels at throwing knives. Coming from a District notorious for breeding competitors, your proficiency in using your signature weapons is unmatchable, as you rarely miss a target. You pursue the game with a violent outlook. You hate Katniss from District 12, who outscored you in training. You hate Glimmer from District 1, who you suspect likes Cato. You hate... well... you pretty much hate everyone. But hey, that should make it easier for you to kill them all, right?

Rin Chan

You are Foxface.

Regular Tribute (District 5)
A young girl with red hair and a face 'that reminds people of a fox', you are a mysterious competitor who is seen as sly and cunning. Some believe that, if you were all tested, that you could well be the most intelligent Tribute in the Games. Your main strengths are being able to hide and survive, your strategy to let all the other Tributes kill each other while you keep safely to yourself. Indeed in the books you finished fourth in the Games, fallen only by cruel luck rather than another's skill. Will you surpass that this time?

Lovely Warrior

You are Katniss.

Regular Tribute (District 12)
The heroine of the series, Katniss is independant and harsh, as the world has forced her to become in its cruelty to her. You are naturally gifted at hunting and operating in Woodlands from your slightly illegal expeditions outside of the District, able to look after yourself, and are lethal with a bow and arrows, which sets you well for the Games. You can be surly and negative about others, but you have a good heart.
To the five people who didn't post in this day phase and were in the draw for elimination by the mine trap set by someone's skill, eliminated or not: You were all notified to the start of the Day Phase. You have all had 60 hours to get something in. You were all warned publicly by status' and by message in this thread from me and Cinna that something bad would happen to the last poster, or to someone who didn't post if that arose. You all had your chance. You all would have had no excuse had you been the one to get it. Four of you are very, very lucky...

Thinking this needs getting towards a conclusion on this evidence. Night Phase.

The regular morning call of cannonfire wakes the remaining Tributes.

Once more during the night, the diminshing Career pack set out for Dwarven King, determined to get him this time. Dwarven has been a constant thorn in their side and has so far evaded death by curtosey of items and cunning...
...but this time, his luck ran out.

Dwarven is found in the middle of a clearing having tried to flee the Careers, face down in a pool of blood.

You are District 10 Tribute Boy/Crippled Boy

Regular Tribute/Hard Challenge
Out of all the Tributes selected for the Games, the odds are surely longest against you, on account of a dire physical handicap. Working on a ranch in District 10 as a farm hand, you suffered a leg injury in a cattle stampede which has left you crippled, unable to move as freely as other Tributes and vastly decreased your chances of survival. You are a quiet and unassuming boy, who despite actually being quite talented in various fields, has not caught on with the crowds or the sponsors. Despite all of this in the books, you were not killed straight away. Indeed you survived a week into the Games. If this time you were to defy these odds and come out the victor, it would surely be the greatest upset in Hunger Games history!
So half our Tributes left. Can sense this could do with ending soon as interest seems to be tapering, so if we could get on with it that would be much obliged.

Oh yes, today's area change, the last terrain for you to get used to; The Grasslands.

grassland.jpg

An eerie plain of grass taller than our Tributes filled with hidden dangers. From now on the areas will continue in a loop.

Let's go Tributes.

This is my place. My area. I am afraid of no one and everyone should fear. I peer through the tall blades of grass, keeping low so as to avoid protection. Grabbing a large branch at my side, I leap up and charge at the closest tribute. I hit ~British Soul~ over the head with the branch several times before running back into the tall blades of grass to hide.

After laying low for several days, I have been able to gather my strength and devise my strategy. Most of the weaklings have been eliminated - only the strong are left now, and every wrong step, every errant sound, can lead to instant death. There are only half the enemies left, but all of them are formidable opponents - both capable survivors, and ruthless killers. And now there are far less small fry to draw their attention.

Am I scared? Terrified. To deny it would be foolish. I could die any moment, and though I have come to terms with the possibility - I will still struggle on, until the bitter end.

A noise draws my attention. I see the Tribute Black Kitsune retreating, wounded. Without hesitation, I slither closer, quietly. Showing mercy to the injured is pointless here. Steeling my resolve, I attack.
I see Epic Hero running off, and pull out my blow-dart weapon. I take a large breath in, and breath into it with as much force as I can muster. "Its either you or kitsune, those damned careers." I say, as the dart hurdles twords him.
Ooh, four weapons distributed and someone finally uses one. Technically supposed to just say weapon in bold, but I doubt anyones that fussed really (not if you're happy to tell everyone what you used). Just one more to come in I think, could be a decider. The pace of the games is picking up, as is the action and ferocity, my audiences and president snow will be pleased. :D
