Bahamut - Envoy of the End
*sigh* Fine I'll join, I still have a month to plan my mafia game. Good man. I mean you know it makes sense, you can't play in your own mafia game after all :D Don't worry about it, people should know by now that when I start something I finish it and keep it going to the end. So I think I remember you saying in a status you haven't read the books, but don't worry, it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for joining, three places left. I haven't read the books, but I have seen the film. Rightiho. I would also like to point out to Tributes and Veiwers alike that if you get eliminated early, even in the first day, don't despair. I'll still be looking to try and keep everyone involved in some form until the end. So don't let that put you off guys. Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Well I was really optimistic about getting this started tonight, given that we had 5 Tributes in the first two hours. Well, I'll keep trying. Really would be a bit unbalanced starting with 11 people. Sigh, sorry guys. We'll get there soon. In the meanwhile, me and Cinnabon are fine tuning some stuff, putting together people's character profiles, and I'm working on the opening event... In the meantime, for those of you unfamiliar with the Games, the first few Tributes are starting to arrive.... for the Opening Ceremony of the Games. Also, this would be my first mafia game. I have read all three books and I have seen the movie so I am well versed in the topic. Was just about to go to bed when I by chance caught what the last post was. YES, THE ENDLESS ADVERTISING FINALLY WORKED! Yes, you are accepted good sirs Remo, I do need to ask though since it was a requirement in the app, are you familiar with series? (It doesn't really matter if you are or not in terms of your chances in the Games, its more to do with pairing people up depending on knowledge of mafia games/the series, neither or both). That's fine Renegade, thank you for that (I should have made stating mafia game experience in posts a requirement too for a guide, but never mind). ONE place left before we can really get this started, unless we get a panicky late rush of three... *hopeful look. would prefer 16 but 14 is fine*
King of Games
I'd like to mention, i think this game will be very distinct from other Mafia games. Mafia is very much Us vs. Them. This game is set up as You & a Partner vs Everyone Else. It's a different mentality and I'm interested to see how it'll play out.
Bahamut - Envoy of the End
I'd like to mention, i think this game will be very distinct from other Mafia games. Mafia is very much Us vs. Them. This game is set up as You & a Partner vs Everyone Else. It's a different mentality and I'm interested to see how it'll play out. Exactly. There's still an element of traditional us vs them as its in the Careers best interests to eliminate everyone else during the night, and its in the Regular Tributes best interest to identify and get rid of the Careers. So you can all still lie and cheat and manipulate each other i9nto voting each other off and casting disillusion all around and hide your tracks. But however the Careers have also got to keep an eye on one another, everyone should be advised to keep an eye on their partner (or partners), and generally its gonna be a huge bloodbath of backstabbing. Glorious! :D Anyway, I think Cinna's gone to bed. I'm definately going to bed this time. We've nearly got the abilities sorted and dispensing with them, just a case of fine tuning and moving around a bit. Then we can assign characters to people and send out the PM's. In the meantime while we wait for the Gamesmasters to finish their preperations and for the last Tributes to reach the Capitol, the rest of you should train, prepare for interviews, plan your strategies, get your mentors appealing to sponsors, etc, etc, and otherwise prepare your bodies :D

CinnamonStar
Just dropping in to remind people. This is more based on the Hunger Games than on a mafia game. The goal is NOT to find out who is a mafia scum and follow who voted for whom. You want to kill each other and let your pair be the last one standing. (There are Career Tributes who also vote during the Night, but your main goal is not to find them, it's to attack everyone and survive.=D) Oh and I'll be Cinna the stylist.;3 Although making costumes for young people who go out kill each other is meh, but f*ck, I already like the guy.:

Or to convince people you're not a Career, as the case might be. Or you might wish to get out someone you believe has another threatening character or skill, or whatever. It's gonna be bloody chaos. Emphasis on bloody. And yes Cinna, what an awesome character! He was so lovely and kind unlike the regular stylists :D So...the pairings AREN'T public knowledge, correct? Um... no. That would kind of defy everything. You will be paired up by me and Cinna (once we get our last Tributes) and will recieve a PM that only us and you two will be privy to. In that PM you will recieve your characters, a short bio about each other, and your talents and skills (and a friendly reminder not to reveal them to anyone else). You can use your PM to plan your strategy on how to keep the pair of you alive, and to notify me or Cinna that you wish to activate a Skill or some Equipment. (Weapons are used in thread). The Career Tribute group and The Lovers will recieve a seperate PM for the same purpose. Still waiting on that last Tribute, but our preperations are nearly complete here. Just gathering weapons and equipment from our sponsors to stick in the Arena and finetuning the environment, so... keep alert guys.

Bahamut - Envoy of the End
I want to join too, but I don't know a single thing about "The Hunger Games" I apologize for not replying sooner. Phone died mid reply. That is not a problem as knowledge of the series is not essential to play, you are most welcome to join. Me and cinna will fill you in on all you need to know, and your partner will also help you. Also reference wiki, YouTube, etc Right, FINALLY we gave a good even number of tributes. Me and cinnabon will assign everyones characters and you will recieve your team/district pm shortly. You will then have a short time to get accustomed to your characters and plan your strategy, and double check how things will flow around the Games, before the opening event at the coruncopia. I know there was a lot to digest in the op, but we'll attempt to sort things out so this can be a fun free for all. Oh and be prepared, I have something good planned for the grand opening at the Coruncopia. >=3 Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favour. Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Right, we're all good. Now most/all of you should have recieved your district/team PM's by now giving you your partner, your characters, and your abilities. These PM's are for asking any questions you need to ask about the characters or the Games, to activate your Skills, and generally plot how you're going to survive and backstab your victory for your District *thumbs up*. Once you've all got them and know what you're doing we're all set to start. Just a quick simplified run down of everything now Cinnabon has given me a bit of advice and guidance: Day Phase: Everyone declares who they want to attack. You must announce it here, in bold. You cannot change your attack target after you've attacked. At the end of the day phase, whoever has recieved the most wounds after abilities/weapons are all taken into account, will die from the severity of their wounds and be eliminated. If they have an ability that saves them from this, the second most wounded person will get it. If they also have an ability to save themselves, no-one else's wounds will be deemed severe enough to result in death that day and everyone lives (boo from the audience of the Capitol). Night Phase: The Career Tributes group will, by their PM, seek out another Tribute during the Night and attack them in secret. The rest of you may have Skills you wish to activate at this time in your own PM's. The thread is to be left alone during the Night Phase. It might be locked, if not, just leave it alone and use your PM. It's for your own health... The use of Weapons you find is to be declared in the thread, when you attack someone. Don't say what weapon you have, just Weapon in bold. Skills are to be activated in your PM. The Arena and the area you are in will change in environment at the start of each Day Phase, as you all move in a rotation fashion. Certain areas may be beneficial to certain people. Weather in the Arena might change, which will be completely at my whim *thumbs up again* The winners of the Games will be a single tribute or both Tributes from the same District. Good luck. Now I'm going to give a brief explanation of the opening event; you're gonna like this. We're going with an event from the books which is always popular among the veiwers of Panem, the Coruncopia! All the players will start in this neutral area at the centre of the arena, which is signified by a large golden monument. Scattered around the monument at various distances are various Weapons and Equipment, with the better stuff nearer the Coruncopia. There will be a chance for several of you to win something that might be crucial to your survival, or to help you hunt down Tributes, or whatever you make of them. I'm not going to reveal what these items are, but everyone on Day 1 will have the chance to try and grab one of these items. Use your District PM's to tell us which item you want to go for, and the lucky winner will be drawn by a lottery, and if you are a lucky winner, you will recieve your item during the Night Phase, along with a full explanation of what you won and what it does. So... will you go for the higher ranked item, which you will probably have to fight off several other Tributes for, or a lower ranked item you have less competition for, but might not prove as useful? The choice is yours Tributes :D Oh and I forgot to mention, as well as all that, one of you will be killed. Have a nice day and Happy Hunger Games... Bahamut - Envoy of the End
3 minutes to go... Can you feel the excitement in the air? Can you? The streets of the YCM Capitol are packed with excited punters, taking their bets, discussing their favourites, eating their luxury food and dressed in their best, the carnival atmosphere in full swing as everyone looks up at the giant screens displaying the currently empty Arena, and the Cornucopia, as the countdown to the 74th Hunger Games ticks down. The mood in your home Districts is... well rather different. But never mind, you have to put that out of your minds now, there are more pressing things to focus on now... 2 minutes to go... All of you Tributes are currently in the Catacombs under the Arena in your individual rooms, with your stylist giving you some final guidance and wishing you well. You Tributes are brave and noble, and we the Capitol honour you for your sacrifice in upholding this noble tradition, as we urge you on from the stands, as one by one you die for our entertainment. The fourteen Tributes stand on their platform, which will raise them into the Arena on a podium, surrounding the Coruncopia in a ring. You will see a horde of weapons, packs, and other items around you. You must stay on the platform for 60 seconds, else a mine will remove your limbs. After those 60 seconds the mines will deactivate, and the Hunger Games will begin. In this thread, RP as you wish to, how you run towards something or make a wild grab for an item (don't give away what you're going for to everyone), and remember to vote to attack another Tribute in bold. Use your District PM to tell the Gamesmasters which one item you specifically want to attempt for, and to plan your further strategy with your partner. Good luck, and for the final time, may the odds... ... be ever in your favour.... 60 seconds to go... For those of you who need further explanation, regard the video. I couldn't find the film's age rating (can't imagine it's more than a 12) and it is a bit gory. Well it shows kids attacking each other with swords and stuff, so I should warn you, but most of you said you've seen it...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anqrs5AdYB4
The Items 1 A light metal spear, with a long silver spike 2 A muddy green packback 3 A blowpipe, and small packet of darts 4 A small brown bag, with a red cross on it 5 A round, slightly dented metal shield 6 A padded black backpack 7 A folded square metre of plastic sheet LET THE SEVENTY-FOURTH HUNGER GAMES.... BEGIN!

Yeah, you guys have all got the idea pretty much and have posted how and what you needed to. Thanks and duly noted in all regards. I know at this stage it's kind of a random, bloody carwreck of targeting anyone for no reason and anyone could go out on Day 1, but don't worry; it's kinda meant to be at the moment. Also don't despair if you are eliminated first, there may be chances for revival at various stages, so your Games might not be over (thought I'd just make that clear so no-one's upset about being out first).
