Best anime character ever?

Who do you guys think is the best anime character ever? There is a wide spectrum of different types of anime genres and subgenres so please back up your response. Or if you can't be bothered just write down which character either way I don't mind.

 

Mine would have to be...definately NOT Naruto!

I think Ed from FMA is muzza...hmm...

 

The best anime character of all time in my opinion is...Vegeta, the Prince of all Saiyans!

All the choices are the iconic male protagonists, so I voted other. Usually, I prefer the female anime characters more. Haruhi Suzumiya is the best anime character in my opinion.
