Dust 514 and EVE Online

Dust has for me the same problem something like Battlefield has. The controls seem a little...floaty to me. Like there's a .3 or so second delay between actions.

It could just be it being in beta, or my imagination, but it really bothers me.

Anyway,

BACK IN MY DAY, YOU HAD TO PLAY A WEEK JUST TO GET THE MASS DRIVER

But seriously. After one of the major updates (that reset most everything for me), I managed to get the Mass Driver in ONE. DAY. Crazy compared to the sheer amount of grinding I had to do to get it before.

I played eve for about a month. Once you get past learning to basics you quickly learn that the game is just a spreadsheet simulator where you spend most of your time crunching numbers to maximize your profit. Wasn't really for me.

yeah i play on ps3. thats when i first saw it. i was trolling through the store and saw dust 524 free to play, and i remembered the gameinformer article, and recalled that it was a mmofps, andd i was like why the hell not. its really difficult though... at least i find it so. ive been playing as an arbiter.problem with the scope is that they don't zoom in far enough to clearly see someone far away and then when you see them you can't hit them....  still fun though

Uh

hasn't been a full month so

This game bounces between gut-bustingly frusterating and surprisingly enjoyable.

I feel that experience takes too long to get, even with the Passive. How am I supposed to get Logistics A-Series if it costs like 400k experience to get to Logistics III?

...Maybe I looked at the wrong skill...

Anyway, they did fix a LOT of things since the last I played, so that's nice.

As you could probably tell, I'm running Logistics/Medic. It's mostly all the default stuff you get when you start as a Medic, but I swapped out the SMG for a Shotgun and have Armor Plates (the +60 something health is a LIFESAVER). I'm currently saving out EXP for Logistics Dropsuit III, a Repair Tool that works better against Dropsuits, and shield upgrades.

Well, over CS and Halo/Cod, it has the advantage of being free to play. However, I don't think it has much over TF2. Sure, the integration with Eve Online is cool, orbital strikes are always fun to watch, and vehicles are present, but it's def. slower, and it takes a little while to get on even ground with those who play a long time just due to having to earn/wait for skills points in order to get all the cool stuff.

But, if you like that sort of skill tinkering and don't mind it's beta flaws, it's pretty fun.

Note: LAVs do not follow the laws of physics in any way whatsoever. They feel about as grounded as a balloon in a wind tunnel.
