Don't know if legal or not, but I do know this: I may regret making this topic later on. -__-;

Anyways, ITT: We will be discussing possible characters/stages that have some chance at being available as DLC in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Of course, this will be primarily speculation with a dash of "wish-listing".

For this to work, I (and anyone else joining in the discussion) will list characters in pairs (these characters will be adversaries to each other). The main criteria for these pairs are that they must not be from the same franchise. You must also give reasons/facts as to why they would be paired off this way (i.e., sharing certain traits, being characters from rival companies, etc.). Same deal with stages.

Also note that, with a few exceptions, I'm not including characters that have been requested to Hell and back (Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, for example)

Possible Character Pairs:

Heather Mason (Silent Hill 3) vs Yu Narukami (Persona 4)

~ Both are teens with attitude *gets pie'd in the face for the Power Rangers reference*
~ Their respective games/series feature fog, often used in both cases as a visual metaphor for the blurring of reality/truth
~ Both series also involve "the true self" in one way or another (dungeons and monsters reflecting the inner psyche of an individual, especially one's own)

Other notes: Heather could most likely be a "composite character", mostly of herself (combines aspects of her from the game and the movie), but also wielding weapons found in the other Silent Hill games. She may also employ the powers of her true self, Alessa.
Pyramid Head appears as part of Heather's Level 2 Super, slowly lumbering around the field and killing anyone unfortunate enough to get in his way. PH will also teleport to another part of the field in order to get close enough to another fighter.
Heather's Level 3 Super has her transform into her "Princess Heart" form, able to shoot homing lazers and floating energy orbs that kill an enemy on contact.

Yu Narukami could use the same fighting style he used in Persona 4 Arena, using Izanagi to prolong his combos.
Yu's Level 3 Super transforms Izanagi into Izanagi-no-Ookami, and performs "Myriad Truths", instantly wiping out all opponent's on the field.

Cloud (Final Fantasy VII) vs Nightmare (Soul Calibur series, third-party character)

~ Both, obviously, wield giant, two-handed swords
~ Both can also be viewed as (one of) the most iconic character of their respective series

Other notes: Nightmare's Level 3 transforms him into Night Terror, and all attacks become 1-Hit Kills

Cloud's Level 3 involves Aerith's spirit calling upon Holy, wiping out all other characters.

Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII and its sequels) vs Alister Azimuth (Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time)

~ Both have been in an army at one point (Lightning being described as an ex-Soldier, while Alister was a General)
~ (one of) their respective games involve time travel
~ Both had also died in their respective series (... well, Lightning did, supposedly....)

Other Characters (these either have less of a chance of being included, or I haven't thought of a possible opponent for):

Dovahkiin (Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim) vs Commander Shepherd (Mass Effect series)

~ A meta-fight between Bethesda and BioWare?

Travis Touchdown (No More Heroes series) vs Bayonetta (Bayonetta series)

Maximillion and Monica (Dark Chronicle, a.k.a. Dark Cloud 2)

~ These two could have a switch gimmick similar to Zelda/Sheik or Pokemon Trainer's Pokemon, in which Max switches with Monica and vice-versa.
~ Each one will have their own Level 1 Super, but both will share the Level 2 (Max pilots a modified Ridepod) and the Level 3 (both board the Carpenterion, which tosses various Georama pieces at the stage)

Stages:

Junes Store (Persona 4), invaded by Silent Hill

~The stage starts off within the store itself, in the electronics department. Periodically, Teddie (in his bear suit) will wander around absentmindedly. Around halfway through the match, the television screens on display will flash random images (including the Symbol of the Sun, the Seal of Metatron, and images of Alessa, Walter Sullivan, etc.) and a siren blares as the stage transitions to Silent Hill's blood-and-rust covered Otherworld. Now, the creatures of Silent Hill and the Shadows from the TV World provide the environmental hazards while fighting against each other, and poor Teddie gets chased after by a herd of Faceless Nurses.

Throat of the World (Skyrim) invaded by Bayonetta

~The stage starts off near the top of the mountain, at the Sanctuary of the Greybeards, the monks themselves going about their usual business even as the combatants fight. At the halfway point, Fortitudo appears preceded by the sky taking on a golden glow. Fortitudo provides the stages hazards by shooting fireballs at the field. Near the fight's end, Paarthunax appears and does combat with Fortitudo for a while, ultimately driving the Cardinal Virtue away.
