DL
I'd appreciate CnC Since its the first time I try something like this ^.^
.Rai
I usually don't approve of the 'pop-out' effect, because it looks cheap and silly a lot of the time. At the moment, it's a a render that doesn't suit or blend in with the background. Work on the basics before taking on strange innovations that are likely to fail. I don't know whether I like the colour scheme either. Not only is it incredibly monochrome, but our eyes are incredibly partial to a pure yellow. Start blending it with greens, and we notice the impurities as something aesthetically meh. It's also lacking pretty much any lighting, which needs to be worked on. DL
"usually" don't mind pop-out effect? So it can be done right? =0 Also, I thought I had the basics down, but I guess rather than that, it was moreso I got the basics right a few times due to some luck ^.^'' Renji gave me a tip once, to use 2 colors from the character to do the bg color scheme, but I guess I should try experimenting with other colors too =P So I should add more lighting, while being careful to not make it contrast too much..... x.x GFXing is a lot of hard work xD I'm actually surprised you didn't critique the weird placement of the C4D ^^'' Thanks for the comment :
.Rai
If you are using a monochromatic colour scheme like that, you have to have highlights of other colours to pick out contrast. In this case, you bring unnecessary contrast to the shield. The pop-out effect can be done right. It's pretty much never, so I really wouldn't bother. With lighting, note that it's coming from directly above the render. The problem is that your canvas is incredibly limiting. With the oval set-up, you literally cannot even fit in any sense of lighting from any direction because of how unnecessarily large the render is and the shape of the canvas.Generally, this was an interesting experiment, but severely limiting. DL
x.x Aight, I'll take note to not try the pop-out effect even when I try the circular tags, unless I'm 100% sure it will look good xD I actually noticed that, it's harder to add proper lighting, though I guess it can be done if I make the render smaller next time I think I'll keep working on circular tags a bit, since they're fun to try~ Thanks again ^^
