evilfusion
If you're going to run nearly pure Photons, you should probably use Skill Drain Photons, because on their own, most Photons have really weak effects, or stats, and the best Photons to run will actually get a huge boost from Drain. Thrasher would be able to attack, Crusher wouldnt switch to DEF, Lizard can still search since it leaves the Field as a cost, Sabre Tiger wouldn't lose ATK (but it wouldnt search). Although Galaxy-Eyes becomes sad because it wont be able to use its effect. Photons also have very little genuine synergy with one another, and aside from Thrasher, no real way to swarm, and almost no way to regain card advantage from their plays. Photon Veil is AWFUL. It's a -1, requires 3 LIGHTs in hand, and in exchange you get up to 3 Level 4 Lights of the same name. There are no Photons you want 3 copies in hand, and you aren't even running 3 copies of most of the cards you have in here, making Veil even WORSE for your card advantage. Photon Lead is mediocre at best. It's a -1 that helps to swarm, but again, due to the card advantage issue with Photons, this isn't enough to help the Deck, and will dead draw, especially at 2 copies. Twin Photon Lizard is similarly bad. The only good combo it ever had was with Future Fusion (banned), or even using 2 Galaxy-Eyes as the Fusion Material. Wasting space for Polymerization, which will probably dead draw horrendously, is also not to Photons' liking. I suppose you could play Sabre Tiger, search another, Poly for Twin, then de-fuse for 2 Sabres on the Field with 2000 each, but this doesn't have a real benefit, and Twin's 2400 ATK is subpar. It could still be nice in Skill Drain Photons, but even then, I'd be wary of trying it. Photon Cerberus is worthless here. You already have Decree for stopping Traps, and while it could be boosted by Horn, Sabre Tiger is better for that purpose. For that matter, Photons really can't use Horn of the Phantom Beast very effectively, and coupled with the fact you run Decree, Horn itself could become a dead draw if you have Decree up. All in all, the Deck seems very unfocused. Photon is an archetype that needs very careful dedication to a specific goal, and anything that won't help that goal will slow the Deck down horribly. They eat card advantage quickly so either conservative play must be used, or it needs a way to regenerate advantage. Another flaw with Photons in general is space. They have only so much space for techs and staples, and that's why they have to be so focused. They don't have the ability to run backup plans. Their protection or control plays must help them move forward in addition to having the protection/control, and it must be consistent in doing this. What is the actual goal of the Deck? Is it to focus on Galaxy-Eyes? Beatdown with Photons? Xyz Summon quickly? Each idea requires a completely different build and approach.
Jirachibi
Mostly it's about getting Galaxy-Eyes out and Xyz summoning if i need to. I just made it so i havent tested it that much.
evilfusion
If you focus on Galaxy-Eyes, Photon Sanctuary is your best friend. It's a Spell that Summons 2 Tokens with 2000 ATK. Galaxy-Eyes can use those Tokens to be Special Summoned, or you can use the Tokens to Tribute Summon. The only real catch is that you can only Summon LIGHT monsters during that turn, but Galaxy-Eyes, Light and Darkness Dragon, etc are LIGHT, so this rarely is a problem. Jirachibi
What i did to it: - 2 Photon Cerberus - 2 Photon Veil - 2 Polymerization - 2 Horn Of The Phantom Beast - 2 Twin Photon Lizard - 2 Photon Lead + 2 Skill Drain + 1 Photon Sanctuary Problem is that it is now 34 cards. what should the other 6 be? Aerion Brightflame
Off the top of my head from what you've changed already: Ironically though, if you did this, drop the two skill drains. Simply because GEPD biggest strength comes from dodging things like D-Prison, Mirror Force, and being a semi-invincible wall. Besides, a Galaxy-Eyes focused Xyz build is based around making rank 8's. Which can help clear a lot of threats anyhow. But then I'm not an expert on a Photon Drainbuild. +2 LaDD +2 Galaxy Knight +2 Trade in. Then further changes to focus the build further on Galaxy-Eyes would be: - Every Monster over than Thrasher and GEPD. -2 Trident -2 Decree -1 Gold Sarc. +2 Galaxy Expedition. +2 Galaxy Zerp +1 GEPD +3 Galaxy Wizard (It's like Lizard, but with infinitely more versatility.) +2 Lance. (Becuase GEPD protected by Lance is stupidly tough to kill. +2 Warning +2 Torrential Tribute +1 Solemn Judgement. +1 Duality I think that takes it to 40? I might be a couple of cards off. Add any techs you see fit then. As for the extra: Say - All the non Rank 4's and 8's Add in two Sun Dragon Overlord +1 Constellar Omega. +1 Giant Killer. Then fill it out with whatever you want, rank 4 staples being the priority. This is what I've tested for a Rank 8 Photon build, though most games turn into GEPD beatdown. Which is surprisingly effective. That's my two cents, but Evilfusion probably knows better than I
