Alright, sorry, it felt like I was getting attacked is all. I get that trading is important. I just think that if they make too many new Pokemon exclusive, it could be frusterating for people like me who can't afford to get multiple versions.

I think that the fun of Pokemon is how many options you have. Exclusives mean less options for some. But, if it's like how it is in Black/White, where the new Pokemon exclusives are few then I'd be happy.

Of course all of this is theoretical, we don't know what they'll do for exclusives, and likely won't for a while.

Knowing Pokemon the first gym will be rock or ground since that seems a very staple first gym (It was 1st in Gen 1, 3 and 4, 2nd Gen was weak to Rock)

The only reason 2nd gen didn't start with a Rock gym was because they were giving the other 8 types a gym. If you look carefully you'll also see that the first 3 gyms are the gyms that didn't have either a gym or an elite 4 member that specialized in them.

Considering the first Gym is Bug- Wouldn't that mean picking Grass would be the hard path?
Unless, of course, Chespin learns some move that's Super Effective against either Bug or Flying.
Although, using this gen's logic, Flethlings could be available pretty early, so it's not like it would impossible to beat the first Gym.

So I've only just caught on to this, and I'm using Serebii to catch up.  I have a few questions for anyone who can clear them up:

1.)  There's a listing for Sylveon under the type "Fairy".  Is that supposed to be a placeholder for "Normal" typing, or is it a new type?

2.)  Do we know if horde battles and flying battles will / can be in multiplayer online?

All in all this gen looks very promising.  I'm obviously hyped about this "Awakened Mewtwo" and I really wanna know if he's going to be similar to the classic, or a revamp.

1) New type.  It's been confirmed that Marill, Jigglypuff and Gardevoir are all fairy type now.

2) It has not been confirmed, I'd guess no.

I really hope that the Chespin line can learn moves that have great coverage to its weaknesses.  After all, if Fire-types generally have access to ground-type, electric-type or grass-type attacks and Water-types generally have access to Ice-type attacks, then why don't Grass-types have general access to moves outside of grass-type moves?  It's stupid how underpowered they are just because of generally limited movepools.

No no no, you got it all wrong~
Fire has relations to electricity because sparks and what-not can set fires; It's something to do with heat.
Water with ice is a no-brainer, as ice is just frozen water.
Grass, on the other hand, has a plant-life persona. So it's hard for them to go about things differently without a second type.
I would go more in-depth, but it's just the general idea.

also if you guys notice those pics like this

chespinmoves.jpg

as you see that they learned a STAB move right off the bat, and if you facing your rival as the first battle like every gen, knowing they pick the one your starter is weak against. Depends how smart the rival is, it would be a troublesome beginning.

EDIIT: Now that i think of it, the first battle may begin differently this time given you have 4 rivals to meet up with. but then you will battle each of them on the journey.

We have also known for months that Chespin learns Rollout. So Froakie is the only one without a type advantage for the gym.

On a different note:

The gold one is exclusive to Pokemon Centers in Japan, however.

First time seeing that pic.
Also, Grass isn't effective against Bug OR Flying, which is what I was getting at.

We have also known for months that Chespin learns Rollout-

Depends on the level he learns it, though.
Super Effective #31, #32, and #34 sum it up quite nicely.
I mean, in Fire Red, cuz' VGCats-
Charmander learns Metal Claw@13.
Bulbasaur learns Leech Seed@7 then Vine Whip@10.
Squirtle learns Bubble@7.
So the later 2, right off the bat, have something to use for an advantage(Leech Seed wins games, damn it), where as the former needs a little more grinding.

That wild battle theme is cool, different parts of it seems reminiscent of the wild battle themes from different gens.

Also, four tauros and a miltank hoard battle? Scary as s***. But at least it shows you can get different kinds in hoard battles.

A new pokemon is revealed. In France it is known as Monorpale (jp. Hitotsuki) and it is a Steel/Ghost type

xypoke1th.jpgxypoke2th.jpg

During battle its sword will unsheath itself. (We're not sure when it will be revealed to the english fandom, but presumably it will be in Masuda's message.)

A sword... really Game Freak, really? Well, I like the idea behind it being Ghost-type, since ghosts are known for taking over objects, though it is still pretty wacky in my book.

I like it already, just cause Steel/Ghost is such a good typing. Now all it needs is Levitate, good natural bulk (considering its a sword which points towards its stats geared towards being offensive) and a decent support movepool, which preferably includes a recovery move of some sort, and BAM!! Replacement for Bronzong right there.

Yeah, it'd be cool if it had Levitate, in fact I think it'd be logical if it had Levitate given its inner ghost would make the sword levitate in the air, lol.
