Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

How many times are you really going to face Steel/Poison moves? Seems a little overpowered. I know the bad guys usually go for Poison/Dark/Flying, but outside them how many trainers do you face have those moves?

And what happens to the move moonlight?

Well the reason we don't see them is because they have nothing to be good against. Poison is only good against 1 type that already has a ton of weakness and Steel is much the same only it has 2 types.

I don't like the Dragon immunity because it means Outrage can't really be used most of the time if your opponent has a Fairy. Regardless, strengths against Dark and Fighting are good and it also gives stuff like Drapion another weakness which is always nice.

Thing is, the game REALLY needed it. Dragon had gotten too good something had to be done to nerf them.

Actually, with the introduction of Fairy-Types, it means that Tynamo, Eelektrik, and Eelektross are the only Pokemon without any Weaknesses, as Spiritomb and Sableye have a Weakness to Fairy.

And if you count the fact that you can get around Levitate every pokemon has a weekness. But yea, I didn't even think about that.

HAH! F**K YOU, WONDERGUARD SPIRITOMB!!!! >=D

And you just made my day.

So yes, this Fairy-Type breathes new life into the Type dynamic by giving Dragon, Fighting, and Dark-Types a much-needed third weakness, while also opening up the need for Steel-Type and Poison-Types, two rather neglected Pokemon Types, to be utilized more in the game.

I'd like to point out that using Yugioh to explain Fairies doesn't really work because their Japanese name would be Angel. This is much like how adding a Light type because we have Dark doesn't work. Dark in Japan is called Evil.

Also, what makes Dragon's so good isn't what they do x2 damage too or what only does x.5 damage to them. Rather its that only Steel takes x.5 damage from Dragon moves and they are VERY easy to take down thanks to their common weaknesses.

Also, a better game to look at for more Faerie designs is MTG

I'm not too sure if Fairy-type moves would be super effective against Dark-types now. If it was then Fairy Wind might've OHKO'd Hydreigon.

Maybe Fairy Wind is like Struggle Bug in that it has a really low base power but a high chance of a secondary effect?

It's either that or Fairy isn't SE against Dark.

Also anyone notice in that trailer that when Yvetal used Hyper Beam, the exact same sound effect from Red and Blue was used?

Wonderguard Spiritomb is gone but any mono-Electric with a Balloon still works.

Fairy Wind probably is really weak, I mean it doesn't sound like a terribly powerful move does it? I'd be expecting the strong Fairy move to be called Fairy Meteor or something like that.

I was watching the video. And I was "This is all cool." Then we reach the poke-amie feature and I am like "Poke-tamagotchi? Well, it's a feature that I'll probably use once or twice when I have to evolve Golbats, but I would only really care if it allowed me to-" *cue Tyranitar*. Me "Fu*k yeah!"

And now I imagine an Azumarill with that Atk-increasing ability and a Fairy-type move rolling over half of OU and Über.

Not really. Side from Fairy likely being more special based, Azu is SLOW. Like, even the slowest uber has 100 SPE over it and even with Choice Scarf it only makes it to the low 300s.

So British Soul complaining about being a Slowpoke a few pages back...'nuff said.

Anyway, I am happy with the new type of Fairy, and I am hoping that more than they announced are going to be Fairy type. I am also assuming that their evos and prevos will be fairy as well. The Pokemon nintendog-esque feature looks stupid too me, will not be using that. Still really want to know the typing of Xerneas and Yveltal
