Nicο
For one, it's called "Dark", and for two, Dark's actually widely used as an element in a lot of RPG's, which Pokemon is one. As for why I don't like Fairy, the main problem I'm having is that apparently Milotic's supposed to adopt this type and [acronym=need I remind you that it doesn't have Fairy as its Egg Group]it looks nothing like a fairy[/acronym]. Then again, Yugioh does have its Mystical Beast Serket, so I guess I can put up with it if Game Freak decides against changing it for whatever reason. ... Still not gonna like it.Did you know that Dark is not an element in Pokemon, but is used for "evil" and "shady" things? It doesn't matter how much it is used as an element, the point was that it isn't here. and geez, that's one point, but another is that it looks decidedly more like a Fairy than Serket, so it's not really a problem for me. And I agree with the less cliche thing. It's refreshing, imo. If there's ever a Dragon/Fairy, I'm called it Ancient Fairy Dragon, even if it looks nothing like it. <3 Edit: and yeah, it was shot down. I never believed it all to much in the first place, but Fairy does sound really cool imo.
CNo.101 S.H. Death Knight
Wasn't that info shot down anyways? We actually don't even know if Fairy's going to be a type yet. And I dunno, considering that Dragon, another mythical creature, is an existing type, I don't see the issue with adding another. If anything, it opens the door to other potential types down the line, if possible.
Well atm ppl going by fake until proven real, that info was immediately went under fake list due to no reliable source was unveiled but i think the person who wrote it confessed that it was fake if that person was the one who made the extremely long infos then it is also confirmed it was written fake by the same person. Tentacruel
My two cents, fairy > light > holy. Pokemon has always been very inventive with its typings, why start being cliche now?

Toffee.
A Pokemon named Inkay evolves into Malimar. To evolve it, you have to hold your 3DS upside-down when it levels up (the 3DS has an accelerometer and gyroscope, so it can detect that). Malimar's type is Dark/Psychic.So.....becomes:???????????????????

Tentacruel
No way. They'd never do that, as it has nothing to do with actual game mechanics and can be achieved at any time with NO requirements.

I see your point (I'm not saying I think this is real, I don't believe it myself) but I can maybe see them doing that if the Pokemon has to be a certain level first, holding a certain item, at a certain time, etc. Just to be clear, that is what you meant by requirements, though, right? Cin
Question is how long before people complain the 3D element of the game hurts their eyes? Especially since Pokemon is a game you play for long periods at a time. I have to reduce the depth right down otherwise I get an instant headache behind my eyes. And I would quite happily play Pokemon all day, atleast I know what both my 3Ds will be set to 0 3D. Diagonal movement has never really bothered me although I suppose at times I wish I could use it. Riding would make sense to limit to Pokemon that represent animals people ride although even though Camerupt is supposed to be based on a Camel, I doubt people would want to ride it. Zebstrika, Rapidash, Tauros (maybe), etc would make sense if they were in the game. I think Smash never really said anything at all, other than confirming the box art and mentioning X & Y getting a weekly segment (not all new info tho)

Unless, you mean for this game specifically, but I'd say only the people who only just got the 3Ds at the time the games are released would complain. Everyone else should have tried it out enough anyway and if it's not good for them, they wouldn't really use it for these games and yeah, I agree, I have my 3D off almost all the time. I can take it more though, so if I think something would look nice in 3D, I try it out, and it's usually always really cool (Gold floors in a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon looks especially great imo), but having it on all the time is a bit too jarring for me. Shradow
For one, it's called "Dark" The Japanese name is Aku. If it were meaning an element of darkness, it'd be Yami, but it's not. So it actually is evil. And if that bit about getting your friendly rival's fully evolved starter after beating the game, that means I can get both Froakie and Fenekin! :D
Merci
And technically, Ghost is more like the traditional Dark in RPGs than the Dark-type itself. What people fail to understand is that they aren't elements, they're aspects of the Pokemon and attack themselves. I mean, we have types like Flying, Fighting, Dragon, Bug (when they could've just used Grass), and as mentioned - Ghost. While we do have things like 'Fire' and 'Electric', they aren't exactly elements in a traditional sense. It's understandable to see the change from Evil to Dark. After all, it's really uncomfortable to read the word 'evil' on a Pokemon and really easy to misunderstand, compared to Dark. This is also why Fighting is strong against Dark (because it's honorable), and why Dark is strong against Psychic (because they're cheating). Look at the type moves of Dark; Fake Tears, Fling, Hone Claws, Nasty Plot, SUCKER PUNCH. One of the most well-known Pokemon moves is Shadow Ball, and in any other typical RPG, it would be a Dark-type move. But is it? No, it's a Ghost-type move. That's why I found 'Fairy' the only type I could possibly accept as real. Light absolutely wouldn't make sense, especially since the Japanese understand better about the Dark-type than westerners, and they're the ones that are designing this game. I'm absolutely positive that the Fairy-type rumor is real. The existence of Xerneas, but more importantly, Sylveon, point to this fact. To me, it's practically guaranteed. If you're disappointed and want true DARK in Pokemon, turn to Ghosts. And now we have our counterpart with LIGHT, Fairies.

Spellcaster2000
So..... becomes: ??????????????????? Sorry but I doubt that. Weirdly enough, Inkay backwards is Yakni, and Malimar backwards is Ramilam. See anything there? Wait... Yakni is a type of rice. What is Pokémon becoming!!!!! I have decided also that this leak is fake. Why would they make belch? It's basically gunk shot but with a PP of 1 (you can only have one berry held per battle, or course) and you lose out on having another held item. Oh and Gunk Shot poisons, too. Toffee.
Inkay -> Ink -> Squids can shoot inkMalimar -> Calamari -> Calamari is fried squidSaid names aren't that hard to figure out, dood.Anyway, as far as my last post goes-I was just poking fun at the fact said Pokemon just evolves into an upside down version of itself, hence, Giant Blooper into Calmaramon.
