Hopefully X and Y don't do what BW2 have done, make legendary status pointless. How many legendaries were in BW after all? Sort of exploded when they started adding previous generations legendaries. Don't think Games really should have legendaries outside their own generation since all are transferable now since LGFR and RSE can access DPPt + (Or are annoyingly avaliable in other games)

It was 17.

Cobalion, Virizon, Terrakion, Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom from Gen 5

Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Regigigas, Cresselia, Heatran from Gen 4

Latios, Latias, Regirock, Registeel, Regice from Gen 3

With Genesect, Keldeo, Meloetta as event (so 20 total) and Thundurus, Landorus and Tornadus removed.

BW only had 10 (includes Victini) all with in the same generation. Do you remember the days when it was 4 legendaries ?(BGRY (excluding Mew who was glitch/event only))

To be fair, the Regis in B2/W2 were pretty cool, as it's been quite a long time since they were actually, truly, included.
(Diamond/Pearl/Platinum doesn't count, you had to transfer them over)

X and Y should like BW maintain in generation only legendaries (base games usually seem to), but after that I worry about 20+ legendaries, devaluing the point of being legendaries.

I think the Regis were in to advertise the Unova Key Feature, which I don't mind them trying with them. But most were just there because they could be.

I still have 3 legendaries I don't even have from BW.

Yeah I do, then gen 4 came and added more legendaries to the game.

Wouldn't it have been Gen 3?

Triad- Regice, Regirock, Registeel

Mascots- Kyogre, Groundon, Raquoaza

Then they added Latias, Latios, Jirachi, and Deoxys.

Also you think Cynthia will return? I noticed she's been in almost every non Pokemon Ranger, Mystery Dungeon, game since she first appeared.

I guess so, but Gen 4 had more legends that's why I said gen 4.

I doubt it.

The "leak" info sounds too good to be true, particularly the whole pre-evo section all being ones that people've previously really wanted. It all feels too much like a fan wank. Gonna hold off on my opinions until we get further confirmation.

EDIT: Confirmed fake.

People wanted an Absol pre-evo? It might be because I see them as pointless, but not even counting that I thought most people were saying Absol evo.

Where do you see it being fake?

I know I've said this before, but... seriously? Competitive Pokemon may be the only thing that draws some people in, but something isn't pointless when it draws people in for other reasons. I remember one guy saying he likes Pokemon so much in large part due to the cuteness, so no, pre-evos will never be pointless when they do attract people. I know I've already said this in this thread before so it's pretty much pointlees so... sorry. You just can't help it sometimes.

But yes, an evo was what was mostly said. In fact, I haven't heard anyone say they wanted an Absol pre-evo.

You seemed to have missed the "I" I put in there. I do not like them. I do not think they are interesting. I do not think they add anything to the game. I think we already have tons of cute pokemon already and making a baby Absol, no matter how cute, won't do anything for me And I never said they were pointless. I get that people like the cute and cuddly, I however like cool and badass.

And competitiveness has little to do with it. I've always loved the final forms of pokemon the most and have never cared much about the first forms. Yes, seeing a pokemon that I'd really like to see be competitive cycle, Heracross for example, get a pre-evolution is disappointing for me. However when my favorite pokemon is Charizard, who hasn't been OU in a long time, so not being compeitive isn't going to make me like something less.

I did not miss it. I saw you say "I see them as pointless." I do not think that not liking them or not finding them interesting means you can see them as pointless is all, because even if it does nothing for you, I don't see something as pointless unless it really does nothing for anyone at all. That's just what I thought.

Here:

Without meaning, relevance, or force

You said "I see them as pointless" without so much as a "imo" or "for me". They're not completely irrelevant, and to me, you're wording only went as far as you thinking it was completely pointless. But I do get it.

I will give you that. My problem with them is that as I said I only see the final stage as important. Its the one your going to spend the bulk of your time with. If a pokemon gets a pre-evo that isn't going to make you like it any more or less because he is ultimately still the same. When a pokemon gets an evo it will make you like it more or less because it has been changed. The way I see it when your going to do something with old pokemon they should be updated, not backpedaled.

Right, and funny thing about that. When I saw the fake evo, I thought, "However a real evo would look, it doesn't look like I'd prefer that appearence wise, at least, over Absol." And I think pre-evos could work, just not really for Absol. Even I'd be bummed out if it actually happen, I might not get to see how an evo would really look, though. But it's solid enough anyway, so I wouldn't really care much.

Makes sense, I don't know why I felt so defensive when thinking about it, I don't like any of the pre-evos made after the originals more than them. I'm kinda mixed really, because besides Tepigs evos I somehow don't care for, the fire starters final form always looked way cooler than the rest and I liked them more than the actual starters/first evos. And the waters I somehow just ultimately prefer the first forms. Not too bad when I can almost beat a Samurott in 1 hit with my Oshawott it Gates to Infinity... though I must admitt, all your Pokemon gaining exp. without batting no matter what was a horrible idea.

All in all, I think I'd probably mostly be against anything gaining a pre-evo from now on. It could help, but really, not that much, if anything.
