I remember in the first gen games, if I didn't have Flash, I would navigate through caves by looking at the slight variation in colors between the darkness's black and the dark colors of the walls.

Those were the days.  To be honest, I'm a much bigger fan of real darkness like that than just a black bubble around you.

Compared to Return, which is easy to acquire every game? Yes it is.

And Strength isn't easy to acquire? A 22 Power difference (assuming max friendship) doesn't make a move useless, especially when it's required, due to being an environment-affecting HM.

Return is easier to get, especially in the newer generations. By the time you get Strength, Return is already outdamaging it, and if it wasn't required, it wouldn't receive any use at all, even in-game. This could easily be fixed by making it a rock type move. Same goes with Cut; make it a grass type move, give it a bit more power, and add a special effect, and you have a move that isn't completely taking up a slot.

I wouldn't say that. Strength would be the only 100% accurate physical rock move in the game, and 80 Base isn't bad for it. Cut has a wide distribution, unlike Wood Hammer, Power Whip, and Leaf Blade, and I'm sure there are plenty of pokemon who would appreciate a physical grass type move.

STORY

Your rival becomes the champion. You have 4 rivals, a childhood friend looking for some bullies, a fat millionaire, a traveler looking for the perfect site. The main rival a hunter that begins as your mentor. His favorite Pokemon is tauros, after which he uses its evolution. At the game's beginning a girl follows you around the beginning forest and teaches you the game's basics. She is the Professor's daughter.

GYM/E4 SPOILERS

-bug, fairy, normal, fighting, ghost, ice, fire and psychic. They have a different order depending on the game version. Bug, fairy and normal are in central Kalos, afterwards the order depends on the game version.

-Progression may not be as linear as in previous games.

The Elite 4 is based on stats HP, attack, defense, speed, rather than type.

OTHER

-The final evolutions will look like this:
Chespin will look like an (American) football player, with helmet and protection. Fennekin will have large ears that look like bat wings/cape. He looks like a flying Zorro. Froakie looks like a ninja from a Japanese painting.

-A racing minigame. You can ride Pokemon on land, sea and air.

-Gogoat has two versions, the trailer one is a male. There is an non-ridable female without horns, apparently visible in the edge of the trailer.

-There are different clothes, including an outfit similar to Team Rocket's. Other outfits might be released as DLC.

-There are more new Pokemon introduced than in Gen IV.

-Sylveon is Eevee's only new evolution.

-Clefairy, Togepi, Jigglypuff, Chansey, Lickitung, Snorlax, Dunsparce, Audino, Snubbull, Skitty and Whismur, and their evolutionary lines are Fairy.

-Mawile, Absol, Misdreavus, Milotic (not Feebas), Chimecho, Uxie, Mesprit y Azelf are half Fairy.

-Mawile has an evolution with 2 mouths instead of one. Apparently it looks like a horse's tail? It might be a reference to Hastune Miku (?). It learns quiver dance, a bug move.

-Eevee, Mawile, Sableye, Dunsparce, Bannette, Tauros, Heracross, Pinsir, Bisharp, Maractus, Cryogonal y Drifloon have new evolutions.

-Lickitung, Throh/Sawk and Absol have pre-evolutions.

-Drifloon's new evolution is an alternative to Drifblim and is ghost/fairy.

-There are 2 new teams, Team Acid and Team Base.
Acid has 'punk rock' motorcyclists who want to experiment on Pokemon to create the best one. Their leader is a long haired woman. Their important members are 'admins' and they use poison Pokemon.

-Team Base are less evil and more misguided. They wear Tai Chi clothes and want power to protect what is important for them. They steal weak Pokemon from trainers to make the Pokemon strong. The leader is an old man.

-Xerneas and Yveltal represent life and death. Kalos has had numerous wars where Yveltal destroys it only for Xerneas to rebuild it.

-Xerneas represents purity and is Fairy type. Yveltal represents ambition from the sky?. It is dark/flying.

-Two new legendaries. One is dragon/flying and looks like a classic Chinese dragon with three forms. The other is fairy /steel and has 3 forms, going from a gold bell with angel wings to a knight angel.

-A new poison/flying legendary based on the 'Zhenniao'. It looks like a green hummingbird. It might be protagonist in the next Pokemon film.

-Xernas and Yveltal will each have a set of three subordinate (might be that they form a trio alongside the subordinate 2) legendaries. Xerneas has to small women-like Fairy/grass Pokemon. One is skinny and the other is chunky. They are humanoid and wear a leaf, one is orange and the other green. Yveltal has two dragon/flying Pokemon. Based on pegasus? One has spikes that form a sun on its side.

-There is no third legendary to Xerneas and Yveltal, though there is a water/rock leendary that looks like a giant squid with a head covered by rocks that looks like an ancient city. It also has two subordinate water types which have tentacles and mouths with teeth.

-More legendaries will be distributed by DLCs. It has not been specified whether you have to pay for them.

-There is only 1 fossil, a rock/dragon that looks like a T-rex. You get it similar to Spiritomb, by having a number of players. I think there is a minigame where you play with others and find him in parts.

-You can pass over pokemon from 5th gen through a program downloaded from E-shop. You can transfer 25 (in one go, doesn't mention repeatability) and they appear in your pc. You have to buy the pokemon using ingame money/tokens though. This is to stop you transfering high level pokemon when you are a very low level. You can rename the pokemon you transfer.

-The strongest new pokemon are poison pokemon.

I'm sure it's all true.

Everything appears to be absolutely amazing. I wasn't sure about new types at first, but I'm starting to like the whole Fairy idea. Glad they didn't use Light. I also like the non-linear thing they implied, and it makes sense for Yveltal and Xerneas to be what they are. Oh, and did I mention how much I LOVE THE FACT THAT WE CAN CHANGE OUR FRIKIN OUTFITS INTO TEAM ROCKET ONES?!?! YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I like that. A lot.

There are only two things I don't like. One of them is the fact that there's no third legendary to Xerneas and Yveltal. Honestly? We get no Z-whatever? That's just not fair. I mean, okay, they've used the same concept like three times already (Rayquaza - Giratina - Kyurem), but they could at least approach the third legendary a different way. Not outright throw it out of the window.

The second thing is Team Acid and Team Base. After Team Plasma, they' just sound...disappointing. Even the teams of the side games are better than this. I honestly hope that part isn't true. At the very least, change their names. I mean, we have Rocket, Magma and Aqua, Galactic, Plasma, and then...Acid and Base? I can understand where it's coming from (pH levels) but seriously?

They actually mentioned the squid in there, which made it a bit of a pseudo-Trifecta, just not outright.

It's especially interesting, if true, because it revisits the Behemoth, Ziz, and Leviathan in a more... celtic manner, iirc. Y'know, the basis for the main legendaries of Gen III.

All of that sounds really cool and hopefully it's true. Shame Sylveon's the only new Eeveelution we're getting, but I can deal. Stuff like Heracross and Tauros getting evolutions are awesome too.

What I found interesting is how they've made a clear distinction between good and evil this time.

Every pair of legendaries since Gen 2 were all simply two sides of the same coin. And while that remains true for Xerneas and Yveltal, there seems to be a clear distinction that Yveltal's gone around being nasty with Xerneas to fight against him. And same thing with the new Teams.

Lastly, I love that they're giving Poison the same treatment that they did for Bug in Gen 5. I didn't care for Bug before then and I haven't cared for Poison until now, so I love that that'll probably change with this gen.

I may be getting my hopes up right now, but if this all remains true, then kudos Game Freak. You've done it again.

the fact Fairy keep being mention continuously sure implied it is true, then again, Sylveon's type would have been mention normally like the rest of the eevee's recent evolutions. This game already had me at going full cartoon 3D and more animations in it <3. I really hope Tauros and Heracross getting evolutions are true... i've been waiting for it.

That's strange.

-There are different clothes, including an outfit similar to Team Rocket's. Other outfits might be released as DLC.

Good idea. A better one would be to have the default clothes not similar to the BW ones.

-Sylveon is Eevee's only new evolution.

Aw.

Names seem pretty good, imo. Don't seem dissapointing to me, and really seem to fit the teams.

Not much, I hope.

It was probably only a matter of time before we got an actual biker gang "Team". Lord knows they've done it before.

A forest, huh? I got nothing.

Some of the rivals sound… older. Of course, some of them may act as what's-his-face from Johto and Wally from Hoenn.

Also, Serebii is talking about the Pokedex being split up:
