I prefer Yveltal, but the fact that he's a Dark Dragon sucks because that was the version I was gonna use Chespin in.

Although if Chespin isn't Grass/Dark, that would solve everything.

As things stand, I'm getting both, but I'll have to make X my main version.

Was Yveltal even confirmed or just rumored?

REASONS WHY XERNEAS IS BETTER:

  • Unlike most legendary Pokemon, he actually looks rare and magical rather than 'POWERFUL DWAGON MAKES LEGENDZ LOL!'
  • Very few stag/deer pokemon, unlike dragons.
  • Potential to have an interesting typing.

REASONS WHY YVETAL IS BETTER:

  • He looks powerful and such
  • Very unique
  • Has wings
  • People like dragons

So two of your reasons for Xerneas is... it's not a dragon? =/

My God, this is a stupid list of reasons to like each.

Well it's why people like them.

Generic ass reasons that aren't applicable at all are reasons?

Since when are dragons not mythical creatures? Since when is listing NOT DRAGON twice a pro? Since when is Yveltal a confirmed dragon, albeit likely? What does "looks powerful" have to do with Yveltal anymore than Xerneas? What does having wings have to do when it's a bird/avian-esque-possibly-dragon? How is it anymore unique than Xerneas? Both have a potential for interesting typing, as do any non-typing revealed Pokemon, so how is that a pro?

There's nothign special here. It doesn't comment on the design, it doesn't even get all the facts straight.

Since when are dragons not mythical creatures? They're overused Since when is listing NOT DRAGON twice a pro? I didn't Since when is Yveltal a confirmed dragon, albeit likely? OK so you're telling me he isn't? I'm judging by common sense here What does "looks powerful" have to do with Yveltal anymore than Xerneas? Xerneas is a stag. Yvetal is a huge dragon with huge wings What does having wings have to do when it's a bird/avian-esque-possibly-dragon? When I say that 'it has wings', i am saying that people like it because it flies. Just look at previous posts How is it anymore unique than Xerneas? I said they both were, for different reasons Both have a potential for interesting typing, as do any non-typing revealed Pokemon, so how is that a pro? Most would agree that Yvetal would be maybe Dark/Dragon or similair. Which has also been done.

Done.

Overused makes them less mythical?

You used it twice:

"Unlike most legendary Pokemon, he actually looks rare and magical rather than 'POWERFUL DWAGON MAKES LEGENDZ LOL!'

  • Very few stag/deer pokemon, unlike dragons."

Slightly different contexts, but twice.

He's not confirmed to be a dragon, at all. He looks just as avian as dragon, so what's your point here?

"It has wings" is still a weak ass argument, and you should be able to see how.

And you only said Yveltal was unique. You called Xerneas unusual, but you clearly said Yveltal was very unique.

No one "agrees" on that, there was just a source that claimed it was, but was never confirmed.

No, it makes them seem less so. They're just overdone. Xerneas looks like a magicall creature from some sort of fairy tale.

You used it twice:

"Unlike most legendary Pokemon, he actually looks rare and magical rather than 'POWERFUL DWAGON MAKES LEGENDZ LOL!'

Very few stag/deer pokemon, unlike dragons."

When I said 'powerful dragon makes legend', i did not mean to speak of dragon's specifficaly. Just the general 'Big and Strong = automaticaly legendary' stuff.

Slightly different contexts, but twice.

Just been disproved

He's not confirmed to be a dragon, at all. He looks just as avian as dragon, so what's your point here?

He looks more like a wyvern than most, which would fall under dragon type. I'll tel you what, if he's not a dragon type, THEN sue me.

"It has wings" is still a weak ass argument, and you should be able to see how.

No I can't. Read above. That's why they like him. I don't physically NEED more there.

And you only said Yveltal was unique. You called Xerneas unusual, but you clearly said Yveltal was very unique.

His design is. The creature he is based on is not.

No one "agrees" on that, there was just a source that claimed it was, but was never confirmed.

MOST. I said MOST. It's not a fact, but it's probable. It's hard to guess for Xerneas

It doesn't make them less mythical at all. They are still mythical creatures, even when overused. And Yveltal looks like he's from a fairy tale, too =/

You didn't disprove anything. You stated dragons = con twice You can say all you like about what you "meant", but what you said was different.

There's no proof that he's a dragon type, and he doesn't look anymore like a wyvern than a stylized vulture.

So, I searhced the last 2 pages before this one, and there wasn't 1 mention of wings or flying. Care to try again?

So now you're not even trying to defend the fact that you claimed one was unique and the other wasn't? Especially after you JUST claimed you said both were unique? Get your arguments straight.

Um, no. Show me this "most" that isn't linked to that source, then I'll believe you. And you kill your own argument here, because if Yveltal is Dark/Dragon, it's fairly easy to predict what Xerneas likely is.

Honestly its typing is only a small factor, it doesn't even have much say really. If it's a legendary, chances are it'll end up in the uber tier.

I agree, it's pretty much a given that they'll become Uber. ALL cover legendaries end up as Uber (Except Suicune and Black Kyurem)

While I'm choosing to play Y, because I like Yvetal, it doesn't mean I'm dismissing Xerneas as a whole. I like both of them.

REASONS WHY I LIKE XERNEAS:

  • The different colours used on its horns make it look pretty whilst not being too much.
  • Its name, deriving from Cernunnos (horned Celtic god), is fitting for its status as a legendary. While that sounds like a generic-ass reason, I do think its interesting.

REASONS WHY I LIKE YVETAL:

  • The way that its official artwork is drawn, it makes it look really badass, and the design has grown on me.
  • With its name deriving from yvel (a Middle English spelling of evil), its colouration makes that derivation fitting, and I quite like that.

Don't they always do it the other way around, having you play X to get the opposite.
