Agro
It looks playful. A synonym of playful is mischievous. A synonym of mischievous is teasing. It looks like a spirit. A pretty straightforward synonym of spirit is ghost. It looks exactly like it should, really, if that's what they're going for. A nymph being the basis fits into that too. I for one would heartily enjoy more ghost type pokemon that look like this.

I am still putting my money on Flying or Normal. It would be cool to have a ghost -eon, but the way that Nintendo has designed all the ghost Pokemon so far, this definitely doesn't fit into that puzzle. Agro
We can't make a ghost synonymous with electric unless it's an electric ghost. It looks like a playful spirit, which fits perfectly into the idea of it being a ghost type.

It looks like a playful spirit, which fits perfectly into the idea of it being a ghost type. We are just reiterating ourselves now. Obviously we have different views and we won't be convincing the other of anything. But as to take your challenge, if we are to say that this new -eon is a ghost type and you characterize it as playful, a synonym of playful is zippy, zippy in itself sounds pretty electric but moving deeper into that, synonyms for zippy are 'full of energy, kinetic, speedy, and high-powered' all of which could easily fall under electric type. But if we were to take an already existing Pokemon, Sableye is described as playful in its behavior on bulbapedia and the same argument can be supplied here. I like how you make a completely unrelated analogy and actually pretend it's any form of an argument. You just stretched what he did into some unrealistic assumption, unlike Playful to Mischievous/Trickster. Ghost is as good a guess as flying. I am not saying Ghost isn't a viable guess, seeing as any guess at this point is just as reasonable as any other. It is just my opinion. I really didn't intend for it turn into a debate. ~British Soul~
Guys the english name for the new Eeveelution has been announced: Sylveon http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=pse_I1klRhA

Unless somebody can find more words other than different versions of the same words?

Tourmaline
It could also be a corruption of Sylph, which would contribute to the eeveelution being a Flying-type. I am thinking it'll be Flying or Steel. A higher chance of the former. Never mind steel. Sylph are usually sylvan, which means they reside in woods and trees as faeries and such. Perhaps they could be pulling the same as they do with other fairy-like Pokemon and making it a normal type, like Clefairy. Sylph can mean Flying or Normal, really, depending on how they go about it. Plus, X and Y are chromosomes, so female-only Normal eeveelution is also possible, to go with the theme of the game.
Fusion X. Denver
I'm sure everybody has seen theories for everything for the new eeveelution. (light, bug, flying, normal) http://adventuresofanawesomeguy.tumblr.com/post/42957764497/ninfia-nympheon This is a different take, not that I believe it. If Sylveon's going to be Normal-type, I'd rather it go along with this. Still hoping it's Flying though.
Legend Zero
They might be going down the same road as SAO. Sylphs were better at wind magic and iirc were able to fly longer than any other race. ALO was also based off of Norse mythology. *shrug*

Agro
Wait, why Steel? Because everyone's been saying it. Honestly, I have no idea. I hope this is a pun on Silph Co. THAT'D BE SO AWESOME. So... Normal, Flying, Steel (ghost)
Fusion X. Denver
Wait, why Steel? I don't get it either, but someone's apparently seen enough guesses. Just saw this on Pokememes, don't know the validity, but here's hoping. https://i.chzbgr.com/maxW500/7063681792/h56F6F4A5/

But than again, it could also be totaly random that it is like that.
Flame Dragon
Also, the fact that we've had a pure Flying type means its likely for it to happen again. Its going to be strange seeing a wingless creature fly. Granted Gyarados does so already, but still.

Nicο
Whatever the type is, there is also an equally important question. How will it evolve? I dunno. I just don't assume by normal level up, that actually would seem pretty hard to do with an Eevee evolution. I mean, since there are Espeon and Umbreon already. Fusion X. Denver
Whatever the type is, there is also an equally important question. How will it evolve? This will be the game where a Pokemon region gets a sky city like we've always wanted and the Eevee has to level up near this divine feather that's the town's major landmark or something. Ren✧
I am hoping not something like Glaceon or Leafeon's evolution. Wishing for the days when Eevee was just evolved by stone.
