Northern Sage
You mean A Realm Reborn? As always, Brawl in the Family nails this game perfectly. Already covered that. Also, someone mentioned the rope swinging thing. It doesn't necessarily have to be a gym, honestly.
~British Soul~
I don't think it's a gym either. It looks more like an overworld thing.
~British Soul~
Now Australia and New Zealand have the Meloetta event confirmed. The Australian distribution is in EB Games and Target, and for New Zealand it'll be run in select JB HiFi stores. (March 4th - March 19th). Europe Y U NO have a Meloetta event yet? Cin
So how are people hoping the transfering Pokemon from old games is in these games? I'm hoping they bring something like Pal Park again.

Cin
That's an idea I suppose. Would be a little dull if they don't add something interesting to it.Still a long way from RBY to GSC

Agro
I just realized something about gyms that I thought they could do: Instead of working with a specific type, I like the idea of gym leaders based around other things. Examples include the type of attacks, the attacking stats, the defending stats, the playstyle, or a theme. They tried a little bit of gyms based around different type attacks in Gen IV, but only mixed it in. Any thoughts?
Cloister
I've never been a fan of mixing stuff. I really disliked the champion in DPP solely because she didn't use a single type, so hopefully, they stick to the old formula imo. That doesn't mean that even though they might use only Bug-types for example, they can still use like a healing strategy or whatever, as long as they use the same type. I don't know why, maybe I like consistency.

If anything, Lance and co. ruined the formula, not Cynthia.

Well I guess all 6 are flying, but yea.... Wallace is the only champion that has a team of only 1 type. Everyone else has mutiple types on even if they are viewed as a specialist. Wait, you're agreeing with us. I think themes aren't cohesive enough for gyms. I like gym and the E4 being a single type. The champion I like better when their party is mixed with different types. Themes work a lot better in the Battle Frontier since, imo, they have a much deeper well of strategic play and that is where that kind of game play should be placed. In the normal game you really won't be as able to take advantage of that and I feel it would be a waste.
Agro
This is an RPG. Why shouldn't something strategic like that be placed in the main game?
Flame Dragon
This is an RPG. Why shouldn't something strategic like that be placed in the main game? You can still have strategy with mono types. It just not as deep a pool to pull from as when you have some theme. When you put that in the gym though I feel it will likely not take as full an advnantage as it would if it was in the Battle Frontier. Also the Battle Frontier and Gyms should be different and seperating them along the lines of theme and type works best imo.
Agro
There doesn't necessarily need to be at all. And the Battle Frontier can always tap into a deeper level of competition than something focusing on stats or themes.
Master of Sabers
The battle frontier already focuses on competitive stuff. Have you ever tried to get a 100 win streak in the subway? Or how about the Driftveil World Leaders? They have very competitive teams that can rip even comp. teams to shreds.

It certainly can, however I feel its just best there as apposed to the gyms. The battle frontier already focuses on competitive stuff. Have you ever tried to get a 100 win streak in the subway? Or how about the Driftveil World Leaders? They have very competitive teams that can rip even comp. teams to shreds. And thats the other reason why its is best there. Your working with the natural flow of the Battle Frontier in the first place.
